    Phantom P4 Pro is the best mapping option available. Buy 3 of them while they are still in production!
    The P4 RTK is $6k more and is miserable to use especially when it comes to multiple battery swaps during a mission.
    M200 with X4s is the worst option and the X4s was discontinued because of its horrible mapping (image) performance. It was good for video and no matter what they say about it being the same as the P4 Pro it isn’t as it has functionality that can’t be fully turned off.
    Good comment about the DJI China Spying BS! So sick of hearing of that, but it’s something that DJI will never overcome.

      mmmm, you mean like
      the 100,000s of people with their GPS tracking iPhones
      on vacation filming everything everywhere. Yeah, let's ban a PHONE and cars too because a drunk can kill you with a car.

      @Fern Blitz you don’t need the RTK/PPK unless you are needing to do Surveyor Level mapping.

      @Chief351L 3 роки тому

      @Fern Blitz There were just minimal updates and nothing worth spending anything extra or putting off a purchase. There will be other manufacturers added to all the various mapping applications also… My favorite personal UAV is the Autel EVO2 Pro (6K) and it also has a super impressive mapping app of its own…

      Hi Lane. I am thinking about buying an p4rtk and swap battery many times to cover large areas. Why do you think it is miserable? Please explain

    Very helpful. Can't wait to see what is coming! Zero to hero! Thanks for calling me too!
    I just need to get out and see what is in my area to get started.
    It is hard to offer a service if I don't know what I can do or is out there.

    The P1 should be good for mapping, mechanical shutter with 42MP , does cost $15,000 though haha

      Not sure where you got that pricing from, but the P1 is much less than $15,000

    you don't need a Puget systems computer for this cyber power or origin computers can give you a computer kind of like like saying hey you can get to work in a ford raptor but you just want a f150 work box

    Thanks for the Webinar, very detailed and very informative.
    One year later, is the Phantom 4 Pro/V2.0 still the go-to option for mapping? any tip? advice?
    Thanks again and keep it going!

      P4RTK is the industry standard I would say. The P1 payload coupled with the M300 Rtk looks promising but is a lot more expensive .
      If you aren’t concerned with Absolute accuracy though, you don’t need RTK. You’d just be wasting money.

      I currently still use a p4p for mapping/volumetric stockpile calculations with ground control and it’s great for that application. If needing survey grade or lidar, I’d say rtk is the go. But also alot of areas is in a rtk denied environment. Ppk works better for these areas.

      If it can put out an NTRIP network, then yes. Otherwise its probably good for marking ground control points.

      Not really the right machine. The camera resolution is only 12mp, the camera cannot point straight down, there is no way to automate a flight, and it only has a 1 axis gimbal. Can you build a house with only a butter knife? Probably, but its most certainly the wrong tool for the job.

    Aloha,
    I am going to purchase the m300 with payloads L1,P1,H20T, eventually dual gimble. All said and done that's about 43-50k. 50+ if I get all the toys minus the U10. So I was wonder if I want to buy a cheaper mapping capable drone to practice with. What would be the recommended drone right now I like the DJI Mavic air 2. Is this a good drone to start practicing the flight and photography?
    For a better understanding, I am a scientist this drone will be used commercially and for research, both equal fun while I try turn things to profit or a hobby/research that pays for itself. Also do you know of any small mid size (M300 size) payloads that offer the LiDAR Green for water penetration?
    Thank you,
    AJ

    • @B1g_Salad
      @B1g_Salad 3 роки тому

      I’d look into LiDAR USA. A lot of those payloads may not be compatible with M300 though but would be for an M600
