Free Sportsman 800 Build Part 3 - Front Diff

Finally back on this build for you guys. Got all the parts and tires, lift, wheels, snorkels, lights, you name it. Gonna turn out great we think and gonna show you the process. Thanks for hanging in there.

Hi.... I think I near you. I'm in the DFW area. If I drop of my 500 x2 or my 800 x2, would you fix my front diff's? I will deliver and pick up from your location. Or I could ship them to you for the work... Thank You Joe

Nice video. I just rebuilt the one on my 2004 sportsman 700efi. I had a broken plastic cage too and replaced it with a billet one like that. One thing I didn’t see in your video is a spacer bearing between the two hubs. Mine had one looked like a roller bearing with a skinny outer race.
Also- that orange metal plate sets the backlash between the ring and pinion. It pushes the ring gear towards the pinion and it’s set with that allen bolt. Any idea what the backlash should be set at? I just replaced it because it was worn but just left it set the same. Just curious if you knew.

Do they sell the pinion bushing by itself? I already have the bearings and seals just need that little bushing..

I have a small amount of fluid leaking from where the axel goes into diff do I need to remove and rebuild it ?

Not that I know of unless you just mean 2x4-4x4

I was thinking about welding diff together. The main gear an both hud.
