    Something feels thematically appropriate about this level being the one that makes or breaks a speedrun. A true test of a learning jedi.

    I think this is why I appreciate the older lego video games allowing for more walkable surfaces; if I need to skip a small area or get to a place I shouldn't be yet, I can just double jump to get across an area or use a hover character to get there instead of going about it the way the game wants you to go about it.

      It has to be said, for the games to be based around one of the most creativity inspiring toy brands in the world, the games themselves are awfully restricted and linear. Even modern ones have the same issue where there's 1 way to play each level and that's the only way.

    • @Bendernity
      @Bendernity 9 місяців тому +2

      so not doing it the way the game wants you to is a good thing?

      @@Bendernity freedom of exploration, as someone who came from Quake and DOOM, going against the rules of the game to achieve a goal early or without much effort is a good thing for both developers and their player base

    I spent a majority of my childhood playing this game, countless Saturday mornings lost to the complete saga. But I had no idea how big the speed running community was for this game! It’s incredible, so glad I found this channel!

    Funny how ever since I was a kid I technically was doing a speedrun technique, the DV3 jump was something I figured out on my own and did every time I did that fight and it’s still in the back of my mind

  • @sheevpalps66
    @sheevpalps66 10 місяців тому +84

    I vaguely remember having either attempted or actually done the DV3 jump when I was playing through the game once, not sure how the devs didn't anticipate players to try that.

    It’s just so baffling that you can have quite literally the perfect run. Every single level before this done perfect with no time loss, over 2 hours of perfection, only to have the last two levels absolutely demolish everything

    Honestly the most interesting thing about this video was seeing a classic Lego Star Wars level with a free cam. Makes it look wildly different, honestly. Kinda makes me want some sort of remake of the classic titles, even Indiana Jones and Lego Batman.

      For people that like glitchy and highly exploitive runs Lego runs really are the way to go. There are so many weird skips and specific tricks and none of them completely destroy the game, so it's still a long run. Every movement is highly optimizable.
