So glad I found your Channel. New Subscriber here so I'm catching up on your Videoes. I have been putting together a 12K gallon water harvesting system on my Ranch and am about to start throwing money at the filtration system for it. Tanks are in! My plan is to have 2 remove control water valves so I can switch between the neighborhood water well & my water harvesting system. Will be harvesting rain water off the 3000 sqft shop roof.
This was a great video however, I noticed you said your whole house.Filtration system was getting Waterflow before your descaler. From my understanding, you want to flip-flop.Those because after you d scale your water then running it through a carbon filter while helping the flavor back to what most people like as well as do additional cleaning. Then you run it through your post filters to make sure the carbon doesn't allow the water to propagate any additional germs after flowing through it.
Every start cycle on the bulb shortens the life of the bulb more than you save from turning off the bulb when not using water. It's not worth it unless the water is off for an extended period of time.
Thank you Sir for putting this out. I have been looking into doing a whole house system and I found that they can range from 2000 to 12000 I was wondering about the pre-filters and the ones on the ground?
Suggestion: You can install a separate water flow switch at the outlet of the UV and connect it lamp to it so it will turn off when there is no flow of water I did the same in my home.
I read that you will short the life of the light by turning it on and off all the time plus the light needs little be of time to warm up and work at 100%, I am not trying to disagree with it is you just a comment
Hi I watch all your recent new videos and trying to catch up on your older videos more so your hawk 250cc you did a engine swap on it I was wondering if you still have your old engine if so how much would you want for it 😀
@@JackofAllMasterofNone Hi I'm sorry I'm in the uk my fault I hope someone near to you picks up on these messages and you get a sale once again I am sorry for being so far away keep up the great videos 👍
Honestly our water wasn't hard to begin with so I can't give great feedback on that. I don't think I would substitute a regular water softener with this though. It has helped our water greatly. It no longer cruds up faucets and doesn't stain showers like it did. Zero smell and much better taste to the water.
@@JackofAllMasterofNone If it's not cruding up your faucets with gunk that's a good sign that the descaler is do it's job. I know, not a replacement for a water softener, but we don't have hard water either, yet our fixtures pay the price. Thanks for the reply.
Exterior contamination such as you changing the filter with unknown bacteria on your hands, which is then allowed to multiply in the system. It's not likely, but could happen and is why the UV filter is last in the line.
Technically you can, but you shouldn't. Reason being if your filter gets contaminated with bacteria, the UV won't do anything since it's before the filter. The UV should be the last thing in the system before entering the water supply feed. But if you do it your way, it will still protect against bacteria and stuff from the supply itself
Your intelligent explanation of WHY NOT to connect pex to the UV system is of TREMENDOUS IMPORTANCE! Thank You.
Excellent tip on the copper pipe for uv connection
First video I seen without the pex, nicely done

Thanks for the informative video. I just purchased one and will set up in same way
Thank you sir, thumbs up 👍 very well explained...

The last thing in the system is the UV light. The descaler is hooked up after the carbon filter. It's hooked up according to AO Smiths ditections

I'm having issue with it leaking out the bottom. Water getting past the o ring. Any help out there would be great?
Any pioneer videos coming up, like modifications

I do have it and would consider selling it but it's too heavy to ship. If you are kind of local (eastern Ohio) let me know

I've been watching YT videos that say that the descaler part of your system doesn't work. Are you able to shed any light on that aspect?

nice video
If there was a filter after the uv what would be the source of bacteria to grow on that filter? Wouldn't it just filter the dead bacteria?

Can you install it before the filters, I dont want to tear up all th piping

Isn't it supposed to come from the bottom and come out from one of the side ports
No. Not on this model. You can get different orientations of input and output depending on your installation needs.
Who else looked for the white coat guy? LOL
You kept referring to the UV housing as a filter. It’s not a filter. It is a good installation though.
Yeah I know it's not a filter. Ooops. My 🧠 sometimes plays tricks on my mouth. Thanks for watching
Can you do a update house walk thru
Are you talking about the Hoarder House videos? If so, that is not this house and not my house.
I installed my UV sterilizer between the pump and pressure tank. It's wired so that the light only turns on when the pump is on.
not a good idea, uv light needs to be running for at least 1 min before it kills bacteria
Bad move.
@keithdean7149 Why is this bad? Working on designing my own system, so I would like to avoid as many rookie mistakes as I can.
