    Hi and thanks for a very informative vid. I already own, amongst others, a Sigma 000R 28VS solid top and rosewood veneer back and sides. I recently bought a 000ME+ and am really pleased. Whilst it doesn't have the crispness of the 00028 I love the mellowness when flat picking. A highly recommended guitar and really comfortable to play

    I brought this guitar by recommendation. I will say right off that I did struggle with it for a time. The guitar seemed to go out of tune and my fingers were quite sore after 30 minutes of play. But this was mostly due to it being mass produced / factory made, causing the string action to be quite high of the fret board. I eventually took it to a specialist and for £25 had the bridge lowered plus he made a minor adjustment to the trust rod. Now this guitar is a total pleasure to play with a beautiful rich sound that rarely goes out of tune.. I would highly recommend this guitar but, If you are tentative about guitar set ups you might want to have someone make some those minor adjustments for you.

      Hey Ashley,
      Thanks for the comment. Yeah it's easy enough to adjust to make it play the way you want. From memory, I think the only thing I've done with mine is a small truss rod tweak. I gig with this regularly and it's been a very reliable guitar. Fantastic value for money and it sound great too.

    Hey Leigh, great review, thanks. I'm planning on buying a Sigma for Christmas, but can't decide on the size/shape. I don't want a dreadnought, so it's a toss up between the O, the 00 and the 000. Im not really that sure of the differences, so any guidance would be greatly appreciated. Thanks mate. 👍

    • @LeighFugeGuitar
      @LeighFugeGuitar  2 роки тому

      Hey! Thanks for checking out the video, really glad you enjoyed it.
      They all refer to sizing. So all three models, the O, the OO and the OOO are all smaller than a dreadnought style anyway. O style are usually the smallest (Around that of a parlour guitar), the OO is the middle size, typical with a 12 fret body join and the OOO (The size I'm using here) is the 14th fret body join). It's the biggest of the three, but still smaller (And thinner) than a dreadnought. Though the 000ME is titled as a 000 it's not a true 000 shape. It's more of an OM (Which stands for Orchestra Model). Again... still smaller than a dreadnought though.
      Found this on Google which might help: i225.photobucket.com/albums/dd219/lofapco/GuitarSizes.jpg
      Personally, I don't like big body acoustics, so the OM styles are the perfect size for me. They aren't too thick either and they also feel comfortable to play stood up. I've had this guitar since the summer and I've done loads of gigs with it and it sounds and plays great.
      Hope that helps a little!

      @@LeighFugeGuitar Hello..Using this guitar for gigs..do you need also a Di box or the preamp inside the guitar is enough to prevent " live" problems ( feedback , etc)? Cheers 😊

    Great demo thank u so kindly Leigh.. mate I totally agree w your assessment. OMG at this price point these new range of Sigma OM guitars are unbeatable ! I recently bought an OMT- 1 here in Australia for $529- delivered to replace a Martin OM-28 I sold last year. Following a setup that OMT-1, which is not far removed in price range to the OOOME demo'd, outplays the Martin for sound quality, resonance, responsiveness & overall playability.. I was flawed by the tonal quality & sounds which so easily project .. By comparison I found the Martin OM-28 abit tight & stiff even.. Great build quality & value can be found in these latest series of Sigma OM guitars !!!

      Hey, thanks for checking out the video. Personally I have not tried the Guild OM240E, but Guild are known for making great guitars so I would assume it's a good guitar.... what I can say is that I love the Sigma OOOME. I've owned this guitar for nearly 3 years now and I've done loads of gigs with it, it's not an expensive acoustic, but it feels and sounds fantastic!

    Hi is this a dreadnaught or semi acoustic guitar. What is the difference between this model and Sigma DME? Thank you and nice video.🙌

    • @LeighFugeGuitar
      @LeighFugeGuitar  2 роки тому

      Hey, this is an OM style acoustic, different body shape and sound to a Dreadnought. The SIgma DME is based on the Martin D14, the OOOME is based on a Martin OM series guitar, it's a smaller body than the Dreadnought style.

    • @LeighFugeGuitar
      @LeighFugeGuitar  2 роки тому +1

      @@anilrai9049 I don't think either sound "better" it's just down to your own personal preference. They both sound great. I personally prefer the sound of OM guitars, but I know other players who don't like OM style guitars.

    Hello..did you say that you are using a external DI box .. or the preamp inside guitar can be considered a DI box? To make some gigs is it necessary to buy a DI or it's enough an amplifier or the PA? Thanks in advance for the answer

    This is a wonderful guitar for the money! I just picked one up on a BF sale for under $300 USD! I just played in public for the first time in over 20 years (using someone else's guitar), and I bought this as a gig-ready guitar that will motivate me to get out there and perform at Open Mic nights, and a bit of busking!
    Might be a "starter guitar" into the Martin family for me :)

    I got one shipped and the action was all messed up :/
    And then I had to file the saddle and file the bridge to get the action, I still feel it's not as good as it could be.

    • @LeighFugeGuitar
      @LeighFugeGuitar  3 роки тому +1

      Really? That sucks to hear man. This one was great out of the box, I've not needed to change anything. I do find with most guitars under £300-400 you find they're either perfect or they need a good bit of tweaking. I guess that's just a stage that isn't as consistent in the manufacturing to keep the costs down.

    • @Bhambooray
      @Bhambooray 3 роки тому

      That's really lucky! I was just hoping to fall in the other bucket of people who get it great out of the box. But you're right, consistency is an issue.
      First the action, and now there is a massive buzz when I plug it in, seems like a grounding issue. :/
      By the way, do you know, what is the mm on the 12th fret? So I can check my action as a benchmark.

    • @LeighFugeGuitar
      @LeighFugeGuitar  3 роки тому +1

      It's always a compromise on lower priced guitars I think. They're all great instruments, but some just need a little love to get there.
      Out of the box mine measures 2.5mm on the bass side and 2mm on the treble side at the 12th fret.
