What went well in this video - Ritchie was a little spicy coming past the arena door and was quite "up". I was able to use my corners to get him back on task and then I was very happy with the resulting shoulder in down the next long side. This has come a long way from where we began April 2023. Energy in the trot is a delight!
Over the next two weeks, in order to improve my performance, I should be working on - I would love to have this level of energy to channel all the time within the trot rather than having to create it. I will continue to work on encouraging him to move with more activity and energy.
I will use exercises so that these improvements will occur - frequent transitions, cantering sooner in my warm up, quicker corrections to improve reactivity.
