Monitors/reference systems Special Guest: Merging Technologies DSD/DXD rig… 64 channels of it;) Be blessed, healthy, creative, free and prosper!
Love that! At the end of the day, dream gear aside, you can make great music with whatever you've got. If you get a chance though, definitely worth taking a listen.
The reason to buy high end gear is that is allows you to dial in your sound quickly, and with the least amount of effort. What you buy depends on your training and experience. I came up in the business working with Neve, Trident and Helios Consoles. So when it comes to pre-amps, I prefer class a discrete because that’s what I know and feel comfortable working with. Price is always important but the main reason to buy a piece of gear is because you believe that you can make great music with it.
I've only used a TF251 emulation and it rocks, I've also used an Avalon Pre and it is crispy as hell. I hope one day I'll work my way to some Barefoots too 🔥🔥🔥
One sound engineer said that headphones are like an underwear - it's part of setup so close to you it gets intimate. One thing I'll take out of this video is - when you're going to wear panties every day better get quality ones. Works for monitors more than for underwear
Thank you very much.

Great video 👍
Thanks so much for watching!
I’ve been mixing on the same monitors for 15 years. Although I would like to try the barefoot in my room.

You're inside my head! I totally want that Avalon.
Get it! The UAD version is a great compromise if you can't shell out for the hardware version.

😂And definitely don't get the two mixed up. The Barefoots don't make for comfortable clothes.
As a musician its better to hire a professional to mix and master cheaper then DYI
Especially if you hire someone who is magical at both. I definitely still hire people to master my tracks!
