Hi, I just want to say thank you so much for all these information as I'm approved for the visa permit. In my letter of explanation, I strongly focused on my study plan, gave a detailed financial plan and home ties. And IT WORKED. I have a study visa along with visitors visa for my wife and son.
This means a lot to me. I can go to study in Canada without being apart from my little family. I just want you to know that your video is not just informative but also really life saving.

Awesome! Thanx Coach RR. You're a lifesaver. I am in my mid 30s and have a bachelor's degree in Industrial Art from 10 years ago. Currently I'm working in a design and printing company as graphic designer. Now, for career credential advancement and promotion I want to take a diploma in graphic n communication design in NBCC. I hope to one day start my own advertising firm. Is this a good study plan and good program of study to defend?

Hey Rachel, I found your video really helpfull, I have been admited to Business Information Systems at Saskatchewan Polythecnic and I'm so excited. I have a doubt and I would be really happy if you could help me out with that.
In the part you suggest to include an index table, would it be enough to be hiperlinks opening the respective PDF file of certain topic? for example:
    - Proof of Current Employment for Applicant
you click it and it opens the respective PDF file,
Or would it be helpfull to besides these hiperlinks, also incluide screenshots of the documents listed in the index table?
Thank you so much in advance for your answer! Greetings from Colombia

I got my PPR after first refusal. These kinds of videos really help a lot... my refusal reason was course relevency. I would say write your LOE by yourself and cover all VO's concerns, which is on in refusal letter with supporting documents .

Hey Rachel! I´m from Ecuador and I just discovered your videos, by the way I'm very thankful for them because I needed some more guidance on how to study in Vancouver and keep looking for options. Hi there! It makes me happy to know that my videos have helped in someway and I’m glad that you are exploring your options to study in Vancouver! I just looked up the school you mentioned, and found that it’s not eligible for a PGWP! This means you won’t get an open work permit upon program completion, which is a shame, especially if you want to experience working in Canada…
What program were you looking to study in? Which city do you prefer to live in? Thank you in advance. 🙏😌

Can I use 2 sponsors in my student vissa application?

    • @rrdancel
      @rrdancel  Рік тому

It’s definitely possible. However, it will depend on the relationship of the sponsors to you. The more distant the relationship, the less weight a visa officer gives to that financial support. For instance, if your parents are supporting you, then it carries more weight because its more believable. If it is your cousin or your friend, it will carry less weight and is less believable.

LOE is the official term that is used by IRCC. SOP is a term that is popularly used by students. They both mean the same thing.

Letter of Explanation is NOT a distinguishing factor unless you wish to explain something on your application that you think IRCC may find confusing or suspicious (e.g., was convicted of a crime, being in your 30s or 40s when you apply for a study permit for undergrad, etc.). No need to stress out an LOE if you don't have anything to explain. She is just stressing you out. If your application is self explanatory, like applying for PGWP after graduation (given that you meet all the requirements), applying for a study permit extension when you get a new passport/get admitted to undergrad/grad, there is no need to stress out on writing a killer LOE when you basically have nothing to explain. I've applied for my study permit and renewed it 4 times, unless there was something I needed to explain, I never provided any letter of explanation and I had no issues with the IRCC.

Your statement of “Letter of Explanation is NOT a distinguishing factor unless you wish to explain something on your application that you think IRCC may find confusing or suspicious.”
Without an LOE, your study permit application is filled with names, dates and data points. How is a visa officer to determine if these names, dates and data points have any meaning? These data points do not explain your:
      1. Motivation to study in Canada
      2. Your chosen program
      3. Your intention and evidence to leave Canada
      4. Your financial support or financial capacity to pay
      5. Your social and economic ties to your home country
      6. And much more
The purpose of an LOE is to explain all of the points above. Visa officers can not use data points to understand any of those points above. Visa officers review hundreds of applications a day. If they don’t understand why you are intending to study in Canada, how likely will your study permit get approved? This is more so the case if you are coming from a developing country.
Also, if you get a refusal on your study permit application without an LOE, how will you be able to challenge a visa officer’s decision? If you are appealing this refusal to the Federal Court, the court will only look at the evidence before the visa officer when they made their decision. So, if you did not submit an LOE, how can you explain to the court that the visa officer made the wrong decision? Without an LOE, your appeal is extremely weak.
Let’s say you did not submit an LOE with your study permit and got a refusal. So, if you reapply, would you submit an LOE? If so, why didn’t you do it in the first place?
Whether your case is easy or difficult, the point is to always submit an LOE. A properly written LOE will always give you a better chance for approval.

    • @Daniel-eu9xm
      @Daniel-eu9xm Рік тому +1

@@rrdancel OK, so apparently you don't understand the meaning of LOE and the required documents you need to submit.
      1. Motivation to study in Canada: if I'm 18 and I'm accepted to a DLI, say UBC, what's the point of saying "omg i'm so grateful and so excited to be admitted to UBC" to IRCC when they already got your acceptance letter. Additionally, what can better explain your motivation to study in Canada in your DLI more than a letter of acceptance from a DLI?
      2. Your chosen program: your letter of acceptance should include that already.... adding this information to your LOE is simply wasting the officers' time. You are providing the same information twice
      3. Your intention and evidence to leave Canada: how would you explain this in a LOE? Why does this even matter? A few words of "I pinky promise to leave Canada once my study permit expires" can somehow persuade an officer to believe that you won't stay past your permit? Every temporary resident that is admitted to Canada bears an inherent risk that they may not leave, that's why they ask for so much information about you (e.g. all those forms you filled out) so that they can assess your overall risk of staying in Canada illegally past your permit. A pinky promise in your LOE won't change much unless you have a special circumstance (like the example I said in my original comment) and can provide a convincing and truthful explanation to. This is also why one of the requirements of PGWP is that you have maintained legal status throughout your stay in Canada, to provide you an incentive that if you want to settle here, your best bet is to follow the law.
      4. Your financial support or financial capacity to pay: Ever heard of the financial support documents (e.g., bank statements) that they ask you submit? Again another pinky promise saying that my documents are real or "trust me bro I have enough money" won't change anything...
      5. Your social and economic ties to your home country: again, every heard of the document called "Family Information Form"?
And for the refusal of your study permit, you also somehow got that wrong. Consult this page www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/services/refugees/claim-protection-inside-canada/after-apply-next-steps/refusal-options/federal-court-review.html. You have plenty of chances, either during the first leave stage or the judicial review stage to argue for your case. A simple LOE full of pinky promises does absolutely nothing to your case and can potentially harm your application if your LOE is not well written or contain contradictory information (either accidental or intentional). Additionally, you can always reapply and, you guessed it, this is the time for you to spin a killer a LOE to argue why the previous decision is wrong. If your case is perfectly straightforward to begin with and all your documents are gathered and submitted truthfully and correctly, there is no point stressing out on a LOE.
Also, for "Let’s say you did not submit an LOE with your study permit and got a refusal. So, if you reapply, would you submit an LOE? If so, why didn’t you do it in the first place?" Again, what would you argue for in your LOE? Pinky promise that everything you said is real? If you are refused you will be provided a reason as to why you are refused. Additionally, you are able to request a note from the visa officer as to exactly why s/he refused you. This is the time when LOE comes in handy, because now in your next application, you can specifically address to those reasons/concerns.
I really thought you are much better than this. I followed you because your experience on your PR application is really meaningful and really helpful for me to plan ahead, but after watching this video and your reply, you proved to me that you lack some of the basic understanding of the immigration system in Canada and you are just trying to incite others' worries and concerns to get more views (or some other alternative motives that I fail to see).
      Edit: grammar

      Here is my response:
      1. Your Letter of Acceptance gives details about your chosen program, school information, costs …etc. It does not give an explanation about why this particular student chose this particular program. If that is the case, all students with the same LOA will have the same motivation to study in Canada. Simply not the case.
      2. Your chosen program can not be explain by in a Letter of Acceptance. It is simply data points that says what, when, and where. But, it does not mention why. LOE is where you explain the why you chose that program. If your chosen program does not match with your previous education or work experience, then how would that make any logical sense? If you chose to study a program in Canada that has no job prospects for your home country, then the cost-benefit analysis does not make sense to the visa officer. If your previous highest level of education was a bachelor and you chose to study a diploma in Canada, then why are you not progressing in your edcuation? All of this needs to be explained in your LOE.
      3. The applicant bears the burden of proving to the visa officer they will leave Canada. It is not a pink promise. It is whether you can convince a visa officer through reasons and evidence that you will leave Canada. Visa officers are experienced enough to differentiate between someone that is likely to leave from someone that is unlikely to leave.
      4. Bank statements need an explanation. If you provide a bunch of bank statements without an explanation, then is the officer to assume that somehow the money from these bank statements will pay for your living cost and tuition? What if the bank statements come from friends, your cousin or your aunt? Should the visa officer assume that your friends and neighbour will pay for your expensive education? If so, then what is their motivation to pay for you? What if you don’t have enough and will have enough by the time you come to Canada? I mean, all these scenarios need an explanation. I covered a case law about this topic. In that case, the Federal Court of Canada overturned a refused decision because the financial sponsor had a well written LOE with supporting evidence. The LOE explained his motivation to pay for a daughter of a family friend.
      5. Family Information Form provides information about your immediate family members and where they reside. It doesn’t provide any information on your economic ties to your home country. What if they don’t reside in your home country? What you have an elderly mother in your home country that need medical care? What if you are the only child that will inherit a large asset? What if you have a business in your home country that you will be managing when you graduate? All of these can be explained on an LOE.
The information I mentioned has to do with Federal Court rules of evidence. The judge will only accept evidence before the visa officer when they made their decision. So, if you did not include an LOE in your study permit application and it was refused, then you will not be able to include that at the Leave Stage nor can you include that at the Judicial Review Stage. You will be severely disadvantaged in your legal arguments without evidence. If so, the judge will likely decide in favour of the visa officer and dismiss your appeal.
So an LOE comes in handy after a refusal? My question again, is why didn’t you do it in the first place? It seems redundant. Why would you risk a refusal because you don’t want to do an LOE in the first place and then having to write an LOE after you get refused? In most cases, its always better to have one then to not have one.
What I am saying comes from the immigration law, regulation and policies of Canada. It is not in control if you choose to watch or not. But, I do recommend that you speak with an immigration lawyer about this topic of an LOE. I have spoken with several here in Canada and they have the general sentiments that an LOE is always recommended as it increase your chances of approval and also useful piece of evidence in the Federal Courts if you get refused. I actually covered several Federal Court Case laws on my channel where an LOE was used to overturn a visa officer’s refusal decision.
