- I went back to the same spot in Union Square to see if Big John wanted to play again. Even though John said he hadn't seen the original video on UA-cam, he still recognized me right away!
The move John makes at 2:22 is a LEGAL move called "en passant."
En passant: "A pawn on its fifth rank may capture an enemy pawn on an adjacent file that has moved two squares in a single move, as if the pawn had moved only one square. The en passant capture must be made on the very next turn or the right to do so is lost."
By the way, I don't live in New York anymore, so I drove ~500 miles to get this game!
