I made a comment under Mandy that he is so freaking awesome right here right now that I didn't really like the gimmick of incorporating the video of his younger self. Now I feel even stronger about it. This is insane. I don't have a musical ear or technical musical knowledge so maybe he's not hitting a note or two correctly, i wouldn't know and I wouldn't care. He makes you feel the song and his voice sounds the same as ever, if not better. Just incredible soul in his voice, Wow.

1:34 Barry is making a subtle point here which I love. I get so tired of singers holding notes unnecessarily long or singing too high for the song or belting out lyrics that call for a more subtle approach just to show off what they can do. Just because you can hit the note doesn't mean you should. He holds the note and says wow so it seems like ego, but then the comes the self deprecating payoff "show off." He knows that holding a note that long at that point in the song is silly, and he is making fun of himself for doing it. I think he's making a point that it gets to be ridiculous, hey I can do it at 80, it's not really a big deal, so knock it off and sing the song properly.
Just one more comment. I used to play video poker near a dueling pianos act at NYNY in Vegas, and those two jackoffs would routinely make fun of Barry, calling him Barely Man Enough, while they were begging people for tips. I heard other low level singers do the same. Yes, you low talent not in his league wannabes, he's man enough.
