My Hive Is Dying
That is how it feels, sometimes it feels like you are failing as a beekeeper.
Hopefully no more swarming, no more splits, it was quite stressful, not being 100% sure what to do at any given moment. Hoping I'm making the right choices. there has been some successes and some failures so far this season but I still feel that I am ahead.
This seems to be one of my failures, or at least failing hive, I have tried, having given them frames of brood when I can and also introduced a new queen. so even when you think you have done all you can do to succeed, a hive may still fail.
Some times you have to do it in the rain.
I did see the queen at 10 minutes in sneaking around the right side of the frame!!!! Yayy hopefully there is some hope yet
Caramel queen second to last frame lower right corner
At what time stamp did you see a caramel queen?
On the second black plastic frame?
9:51 bottom right is the queen
@@savageffx7393 yep i have since seen her on this video, i had another look in the hive today and there are eggs and larvae, hopefully enough bees to raise them
They are amazing bees, so they’ll figure it out
Not sure, but what works for some may not work for others.i had a hive that was once dying out and i took away a lot of space and reduced the entrance and that hive came back kinda quick.when you picked up that second black frame your queen was walking around to the other side close to the bottom. When you flipped it over she walked back to the other side as you were spinning it
@@chicken6946 yes i have now seen her at 10 minutes in
I inspected them yesterday and saw her but she was not on the frames, instead she was on the bottom and sides
I wondered if she didnt like the comb so i swapped it all out with fresh comb and a frame of brood
@@honeybees1970 good good.best of luck to you and your bees.
This weather in UK at the moment is not good for the bees.😡
Im in Canada, we have had rain for a few days, not great for the bees, this hive is struggling but I did find the queen ( 10 minutes in the video ) she is now laying, im feeding them with a syrup frame to help them, im going to check them tomorrow afternoon and put a frame of capped brood as a boost if things look ok
