I’m Scottish, from Glasgow, and I live in Siena. Everything that he said is correct, no exaggeration. The city is stunning- you have to experience it to really feel the historic ambiance and beauty. The food that you see in the video is what we eat every day, without exception. Poor quality wine doesn’t exist, and vino is available from 3 euros per bottle (and upwards). Oh, and the women are beautiful angels- I married one....
Isn't that interesting that a horse with NO jokey came in third? I love love Rick's video tours, we watch them as a family and dream big of our own adventures! Keep on traveling, Rick!!!!!
My sister, an artist, and I were supposed to go to Italy, then into Austria and Germany, this past May, 2020. We had planned the trip for 2 years. Sigh. Thank you, Rick Steves- I now come home from a busy day at my front-line job, brew myself a hot cuppa and sit and "travel" with you.
Your travel series in Italy is a gem for me during this quarantine period! Love Italy!!! Can' wait for the borders to open!!! All the wine, the food, the romantic cobblestone streets!!! Thank you!!!
I'm an Italian, I'm a great explorer and a tourist. I do not follow routes for tourists but the real life of the places. I congratulate you on siena and Tuscany as they really are. I travel all over Europe but at the end the most beautiful place in the world is at home ... true Italy.
Watching and listening to Rick Steves never gets old. Like Bob Ross, I live happily through them. Thank you for your knowledge, humor, and love for sharing travels.
Siena is a joy! I went there for three summers as a participant of a music festival and lived there for one year. It totally changes character when the summer tourists leave, but still it is so beautiful. A glorious place!
Im a big Rick Steves fan. I love his presentations. Its done with elegance and sophistication. He truly knows his stuff. This video is my personal favorite and I’ve watched it several times and adore it. I’d love to discover Tuscany’s beauty for myself
Sienna is the first place in Europe I visited when I was a teenager. It holds a very special place in my heart. We were there about a week before the Palio so we got to see the neighborhoods doing parades in the evenings. Not one big parade, but small groups going around in their costumes, playing music at night. The sand was being packed on the racetrack, the barriers and bleachers were setup. It was fun to see the town starting to bubble with excitement about the race.
Siena a city with great medieval building a town visited in the 1980S marvel of a cathedral Loved the city with the food and wine.A city not to be missed for medical churches.Great tour with a trip to Pizza too.Sienna a must too..
What a lovely country and a wonderful video to presents it, I could almost feel the warmth of Tuscany and inspired by Italy's rich culture and traditions. Wish I have the time and money to experience it with my family first-hand!
This really sets me in the mood for my visit to Italy in 2 months. I have been brushing up my Italian and this video highlights the beauty of Tuscan architecture, art, food and wine. Our home in Silicon Valley California is modeled after an Italian Villa - Villa Medici - so it is essential that we stay closely in touch with Italy to give our home even more authentic features. Thanks Rick.
I really liked the transition between 09.30 when the bird is passing by and in 09.31 another bird is passing by too! I now that it was not intentional or anything but it was funny to see it
I suggest to take a visit to the nearby val di Chiana it is another fantastic place where u can experience the tuscan’s lifestyle and also have memorable landscapes
If someone is enjoying his life with fun, travelling, special food, culture & with many more things that is only you. Hi Sir i m from India & I Love all ur videos, i wish u best of luck from my side, keep travelling & enjoy life.
Wow what a gorgeous everything excellent can’t wait to go ,i love ❤️ 🇮🇹 red wine 🍷 , made in 🇮🇹 is the greatest in the whole wide world 🌎 Sir Steves thanks great effort god bless and peace your voice is so lovely and sweet i loved it
I have traveled from one end of the Italian mainland to the other; from Venice and Milan to Bari and Brindisi. Of all the great Italian cities I have visited, Siena is my favorite. Sadly, I wasn't there to see a palio but it was like walking through a living museum. The local history, culture and cuisine are all terrific. If I could live anywhere in Italy, this would be the place!
bellissima Toscana the marvellous Siena, the aristocratic Florence, Pisa and its leaning tower, Lucca, Arezzo, San Gimignano and its medieval towers, Volterra and many many other sites in one of the most beautiful scenery of the whole world.... !!! Ciao
Really enjoy these travelogues .... I remember well visiting Siena and even did an informal DJ gig in a bar on the Piazza del Campo... it rained continually throughout the entire trip in the middle of may & only once did the sun come out for any length of time ( whilst having a beer in the Piazza!) ....
Interesting comment about planting Cypress trees to stop soil erosion. The roots of a Cypress tree only go down and do not spread out from the tree. If you want to stop soil erosion, the Cypress is the last tree you would choose.
what and where is the Agriturismo you stayed in with Isabella and Carlo? We are going in September and wish to stay at a place like that in Tuscany area
I spent many of days and night in seina and sleep in seina Square and park and road when I migrant in Italy illegal.that time I don't know about seina history and culture ..lol But now in this pandemic time of Corona there was not so much public in street of seina

Quel luxe opulent, Siena et Tuscany ! Architecture, gastronomie, art........
Once again, another great show. Rick proves that entertainment and education are not mutually exclusive.
