Russo has said numerous times he left WWE because he needed more time with his family and he was being overworked. The one time Vince gave him all the help he needed. He ran and made it an excuse of him being buried when he could’ve just been a team player but instead he pushed an entire year angle as if there’s not 15 people in the room that are already planning things.

Russo's WCW was a shitshow, but Russo's TNA era was a lot more fun than people give him credit for
2006-2008 was watchable as fuck; I didn't start watching it weekly until Angle jumped, but overall I liked it more than WWE during that time, and I watched RAW/TNA/Smackdown religiously every week
Pretty sure Dutch and Corny were heavily involved during this era, along with Scott D'Amore, so he can't be given full credit, but at least a bunch of people actually fucking had something to do, which is a big Russo principle
If you liked pre-Hogan Spike TNA gimmie a shell yeah

He said he doesn't wanna work with people who think they know everything and have no respect for anyone , he just described why none wants to work with him, the ego of this man, only HE can write a wrestling show, only HE has the knowledge, only HE should be given total control. The WWE in 2024-25 is like a 9-7 or a 10-6 team winning the division when the other teams in that same division finished 3-13 or 5-11. It's important to note that they don't have real competition so their success is by default. It would be concerning if they weren't successful given how much of an open field they have. 1990s WWF success and 2025 WWE success looks and means two different things given the competition. WCW doesn't exist anymore, ECW doesn't exist anymore. So who is around to seriously challenge the WWE?

It's not THAT big right now. A lot of you grew up in the doldrums of WWE so you think anything beyond Let's Go Cena/Cena Sucks must mean massive success. It's not it's just how far it had fallen which was our complaint then and now.

I still remember right after the Hall of Fame, Russo was so convinced people were praising him cause he was gonna get replaced soon after. I feel Russos issue with WWE is a combination of Russo thinking no one could outdo what he did cause he had huge ratings in 1998, and him having heat with HHH.
And also, anything Bin Hamin says, goes in one ear, out the other. He talks as if he knows anything bout anything in business with wrestling. We've known and has been revealed years ago about skewing attendance numbers. But like Disco said, you can't do that with internet numbers when it's easily researchable.

We hate modern wrestling as a whole, which includes WWE and AEW. We also notice that when Vince was critical of AEW and Tony Khan no one batted an eye. Losing 90% of your audience isn't "Success", I don't care how much money the remaining 10% are spending. Nobody is watching wrestling anymore. You used to see hot chicks in the crowd, and wrestling shirts all over the Mall, school, and at work. You don't see any of that anymore. The people who say wrestling is in a booming period are very clearly people who are not going outside and leaving the house to see that for every 1,000 people you might see 1 WWE fan. Yeah yeah yeah "But that 1 fan will go to all of the shows and buy all the merchandise with his Inheritance money". Wrestling has devolved into a cult. To be blunt it may never ever experience the haydays of the past. 30 million people watching Hogan vs Andre is a feat that won't ever be duplicated again, as wrestling doesn't even have 3 million fans left looking at the numbers, let alone 30 million. On the WWE social media the *Only* things that get *ANY* sort of viewership is content from the past. With the exception of Roman reigns, has *any* Current Wrestling star produced something that has generated over 10 million views? No correct?
    Numbers do not lie.

Well Russo needs to accept what is "edgy" nowadays is different from the late 90s
Edgy now would be LA Knight throwing a hitler salute or Dominic going into a speech about reconquista of the US because blacks and whites are too lazy. Edgy now would be a pro BLM group getting the shit beat out of them by a pro US group. Edgy now would be doing the black national anthem with the face coming out to beat up the singer. . Edgy now would be have your tweener face deny or question the Holocaust after defeating CM Punk.
The Attitude era made normies who weren't hip or cool uncomfortable, which nowadays would be the left since really they've been driving the culture for 18 years or so
Attitude era shits all over the good and bad of the 90s and to be edgy now you'd have to do the same, slay all the sacred cows.
Which is why AOL walked away from WCW because of the perception wreslting had at the time. It's THAT edgy for back then.

@@jeremystubner2626 Yeah you can tell who was a teen or adult in the late 90s early 00s and who wasn't.
WWF in it's heyday was so big other forms of entertainment constantly talked about it. Not to mention every venue they did play and house shows was sold out for years. Plus their entrance theme music helped usher in rap/metal and that general early 00s rock sound which the late 90s didn't have.
Nowadays it's mostly a Blackrock level scam: top down makes their money and investors keep thinking back to the 80s and late 90s thinking surely they'll get that big again.
I hate to say it but both eras are tied to one man and since no one other than maybe the Rock is that big anymore it's probably won't be for a long time.
Let me explain in your terms how edgy it would be nowadays: Imagine if LA Knight walked in and hit a Hitler salute and said good riddance to all the mexicans. And then say Dominic came in and began some nonsense about Mexicans are going to take over the US because blacks and whites are lazy and don't work. That's about how edgy it was back then for the late 90s early 00s.
You guys are sensitive and woke, you're more like the new generation era fans who were crying when SCSA shot someone the bird or the Rock called someone gay.
So is WWE doing better than the PG/Cena era? Sure but it's not hard to beat rock bottom.
