Very thoughtful. Sure holds my interest. I like the counterpoint. Not a dissonant piece but indeed modern American.
Somehow, the academic character of this piece reminds me a bit of Busoni's piano music. Excellent performance, however. Very skillfully written, considering all the performances it is not going to get. Too bad, though.
