World Population by Country - 214 Countries Ranked

- This video illustrates, on a country-by-country basis, how the world population has changed since 1960, it also exposes the United Nations projections up to 2050 for 214 countries.
The global population is still increasing, it is estimated to reach about 7.9 billion people by the end of 2022. The main drivers of future population growth will be the evolution of the fertility and mortality rates. Nevertheless, long-term world population growth is difficult to predict.
Currently, the top ten largest countries in terms are population are China, India, United States, Indonesia, Pakistan, Brazil, Nigeria, Bangladesh, Russia and Mexico. Although, up to 2050, some changes are expected: China is soon to be overtaken by India, and Nigeria is forecasted to assume the third position, overtaking the USA; Ethiopia and The Democratic Republic of Congo are forecasted to be part of the top ten most populated countries.
The UN Department of Economics and Social Affairs projects between 9 to 10 billion people by 2050. These projections are important to predict future impacts on the planet and humankind's well-being.

There are some experts who have been stating for years now that China has been over-reporting their population for a while, maybe since the 1990's. China's population might be as much as 10% lower than their official census, which means current population might be closer to 1.2B than 1.4B in 2022.

Hi Kintiktok! This is not wrong, the number you saw in the video is a projection for year 2050, as informed. The number you mentioned in your comment is about the current Greek population. United Nations estimates the population in Greece will decrease in 2050.
