- In today's video I am sharing what is in my girls' travel car packs for the 12 hour drive to Disney! We do have DVD players in our van but I don't want them to watch tv the whole time and they don't watch very much when I pack them a variety of fun books and crafts for them to use. I always sneak some new things in there and they can't wait to find out what's inside their busy bags.

Besides your Easter basket video, this is my second favorite video you do!
Thanks Joy! I love doing this video because it means it's TIME FOR DISNEY!!!! :)
That's a lot of fun books
Great ideas!! We are taking a big trip next summer so now I have a plan!! Have fun on your trip!!
I'm glad you got some tips! Thanks so much for watching!
Since our daughters are similar in age, I wrote down a lot of these things!! I love the idea of having car packs!! Typically, the longest drive we ever take is to go camping and that is only an hour and a half away! LOL! Since we live in Texas, Disney is a LONG way away, so this is a perfect idea!!! I wish you lived close to me... we would be such great friends!!! And I have a hunch our kids would too!!
I bet we would be great friends, too! :)
My boys bring their iPads and their Nintendo 3DS games. We also have a DVD player in the van so they can watch movies. They are very "connected" to devices on vacation, but it's only once or twice a year (usually Gatlinburg at Thanksgiving and Disney in January) and the rest of the year we limit their screen time, so I don't worry too much about it. They recently got a Nintendo Switch, so we will probably bring that along this year as well.
They watched a couple movies on the way home but nothing on the way there. Looking at small electronic devices tends to give my girls headaches so that's another reason that I try to really limit the time they spend on those things.
We have a new car and it does not come with a DVD player inside. I just realized it. LOL Guess I will be breaking out the ole travel DVD player. It will do, but it does not play blu-ray discs.
We try not to use ours too often but they certainly come in handy in a pinch. :)
My daughter loves the car bingo cards, they have them in the Target dollar spot sometimes. I also put magentic paper dolls and small toys in our travel bag.
Great ideas!
I just found our old tic tac toe and hangman travel book. YAY! Now to find the Mad Lib books. We just moved to a new house and everything is scattered.
Mad Libs are awesome! I just got my littlest one a Frozen Mad Libs! :)
great idea but tablets are so much easy to bring🤣🤣
I love your ideas
Thanks so much!
these things are cute and keep them busy.
Yes, they loved them! Especially the Melissa and Doug bakery sticker book!
I wish they could tho...great idea
Some other good things that I find good for road trips- wiki stix, top trumps card game, wordsearch books, mini Lego sets, a mystery toy, a book to read.
Wiki Stix are great!
Frugal Family, Dumpster Decor, And More depends on the child or the situation. Also depends what the mystery toy is I suppose. If it’s something like say a kid who loves LOL dolls and your on a long flight you could pull the LOL mystery ball out half way through the flight. If it’s something like party bag fillers you could wrap them individually and give them every hour on a flight to a younger kid? Or maybe a kid collects Pokemon cards so you could pack a few and give them to them when they are starting to get loud or upset or annoying to keep them quiet? Maybe it’s a kid that likes time sticker books you can get from newsagents and throughout the flight you could give them a pack to open to stick in the book. R it could even be a kid that likes shopkins and they can have one every few hours if they behave? Just a few examples of what you could do?
I’m a kid and I got so bored so I decided to watch this and I like anime to like your older daughter lol
She really loves Anime and enjoys drawing a lot of those types of characters! Have you seen Miraculous Ladybug? It isn't anime but she really likes that show.
A Place to Nest I know about the show but I didn’t watch it
A Place to Nest I watch that show and I like to draw as well
This is awesome! We travel a lot and i always lack things for my girls to do including new surprises. Some of the things I have gotten them, they are bored with. Great ideas especially for my 5 year old. We love color wonder books and markers in the car. We have done the Melissa and Doug water wow books but my 5 year old is getting bored with them and is passing them down to her 2 year old sister.
I'm so glad you liked it! As much as I give my girls to play with, stickers are almost always their favorite! Do you ever include any fun sticker books?
Oh yes! My 5 year old loves stickers and i always include lots. I can’t give my 2 year old stickers yet because they would be ALL OVER MY CAR! 😂 But I’m hoping soon she will do better with them.
Where can I find those Klutz books? Especially the neon lettering one in your oldest daughters bag. We have a very long road trip this summer from Arizona to Wisconsin (3 days of 10 hours of driving...ugh) and I am in need of activities for my 13 and 9 year old girls.
You can find Klutz books at any of the craft stores, i.e., Michaels, Hobby Lobby, A.C. Moore, etc. And definitely Amazon and Barnes and Noble maybe.
I usually find them on Amazon. If you can find them at Hobby Lobby they will accept their 40% coupon on them but Michael's won't. :(
I was excited to see this! Especially your older daughter's bag. When you brought out those manga books, I got so giddy because my daughter loves manga and she does it free hand. She has never had these type of books before and the Shoji girls she draws looks almost identical to the ones in these manga books. Did you get them at Amazon or Barnes & Noble?
Yes, she loves Anime and all of that stuff. Her books came from Amazon and Hobby Lobby. I have to be really careful of the clothes that some of the characters are wearing because they can be pretty inappropriate. She likes to use the book for reference and draws them free-hand. I'm sure our girls would love to hang out together!
Thanks for that tip about the clothes. I will make sure to pay attention to that. I usually look through them because I know some Manga isn't good. She does draw them with short skirts and shirts but I guess that is the style. Yes, our girls would have a blast. She loves drawing, horses, cats and dogs, and fish....Lord, does she love her fish.
I showed her this video and she didn't like the origami things. I thought for sure she would. I may get them anyway and see what she does. LOL. We need to find those Travel Tangoes. She liked those.
Amazon probably still sells them but it's been awhile since I've checked.
what happens if you drop it ?
i just saw the playful kittens and puppies in the dollar store today

Isn't that cute!? :)
I love these car pack videos! Could you please tell me where you bought that horse pencil pouch at?
Thanks! I love sharing them with you! That pencil pouch came from Dollar Tree, I believe.
@@aplacetonest Thanks!
@@aplacetonest I haven't seen one with horses(yes,I am horse crazy!) printed on it at Dollar Tree anywhere but maybe they will bring them back out!
Which is worse being stuck on dessert island or a mountain? Desert island
Island!
I cannot seem to find the 2018 car pack video, did you take it down?
I can’t remember but I think I did because one of my girl’s names was showing and I didn’t feel like going back and re-editing it. Lol
@@aplacetonest btw, has your oldest seen these?www.amazon.com/PIPEROID-Hatsune-Miku-Luka-Paper/dp/B01KGDGM3Y/ref=sr_1_20?crid=37Q599BI5SCYY&keywords=oragami+set&qid=1567735944&s=toys-and-games&sprefix=oragami%2Ctoys-and-games%2C168&sr=1-20
No, I've never seen those before and I don't think she has either. They're so cute and she loves paper crafting! Thanks!
Legi
How old are your kids?
They are 7 and 13.

trapped on a mountain is worse
Yes, being trapped on a mountain would be worse! lol
Im sorry but... Whats wrong with anime?????
