We have a very special episode today here on Girlfriend Reviews. The highly anticipated Cyberpunk 2077 has finally arrived, and while my boyfriend loved the game on PC, he has a lot to say about the disappointing state of his favorite industry: video games. Please enjoy all the goofs, gaffs, and Keanu Reeves farting...twice.

Guys the real Cyberpunk 2077 was the anti-corporate pro-worker lessons we learned along the way.
Congrats to CDPR for going so meta in their attempts to prove the danger of corporations that they spent 7 years building up a gamer-oriented image only to deliberately trash it as part of their narrative.
Nobody is going to learn a damned thing and we all know it. Remember that steam group made to boycott a game and then on release day everyone in that group was playing the game? It was either a COD or Battlefield game. Either way.... we've reached a point where nothing hyped correctly will ever fail.... people want to be hyped and they will jump right on that hype train no matter how disappointed they are left. Over and over again.
Some games are really overrated, especially CDPR games, and i feel like its because of gamers not having critical thinking. as Gaming is still a relatively new medium. i hope in 20 years or so Gamers will learn critical thinking and not overpraise games. like witcher 3. Especially not overhype them.
@@winstonchurchill7822 Witcher 3 is amazing. What are you talking about??
Yep, it's a lack of consequence to action for companies. Pure fact. If I dump rat poison on a peanut butter sandwich, hand it to you, you eat it and die. I'm a murderer and go to prison. If I sell you that exact same sandwich for a dollar I "might" loose a civil suit from your family in which I have to pay a small fraction of that dollar in a wrongful death suit.
This is why there should be mass refunds for games that aren't up to snuff.
But that's not allowed and it's on purpose.
Most other products have money back guarantees and some form of try before you buy especially if they are an expensive purchase. If anything else is broken or scuffed, you can return it with the receipt, but games, music and movies all don't have this promise and it's a medium that thrives not on the quality of the product, but a combo of word of mouth and hype trains.
Fallout 76 was denied for refunds for this exact reason. It would of actually hurt the company and changed their future behavior to not incur such financial loss.
If a product exceeds a specific price, say 20 bucks or more, have a percentage of time for the product to be available to try and have a 10 days and what ever percentage of time from starting up the movie, album, game up that it can always be returned. Similar to what Steam does, but a bit more comprehensive.

"Cyberware didn't even need to pierce the flesh to start losing our humanity" Damn Matt, that's some quote. Right in the feels
It describe cyberpunk world really well
You can tell there was a lot of content the developers wanted to add and even planned out that they just couldn't get into the current version of the game because people were losing their goddam minds at this game's delays already (the blame here actually lands on the corpos at CDPR, not the developers or most of the customers). A railway system actually exists but the players can't utilize it. There is cyberware that cloaks you in the official guide and dialogue in the game but nowhere to be found in the actual game. I'm pretty sure the devs planned from day 1 to have players be able to change their appearance in game but like so many features there just wasn't enough time to put it in.
I'm torn. I have a decent PC and so far 2077 has been my favorite gaming experience this year. But, at the same time, I feel like they should have delayed it another year. Hell, they shouldn't have announced it so early in the first place.
That's what happens when you do pie-in-the-sky feature creep that has to be cut from the game since your core systems are not even functional as a result of all the wasted the development hours.
I wanted invisibility so bad I made it myself. Sandevistan with three mods that make it take enemies 70% longer to see you. Mine slows time by 50% and lasts 16 seconds which is easily enough time to kill everyone in a room before they can even notice you flitting around cutting off heads.
Totally agree though, as much as I love the game and have been having fun with it, every time I can’t get a haircut, or customize a vehicle, or fight the cops in a FUN way (they just teleport in five feet behind you and one shot you eventually) I think- “this is great, but damn they really should’ve taken more time, like enough time that the devs didn’t exhaust themselves and miss holidays and weekends.”
I pretty much ignored everything about this game and all the hype, so I wasn’t expecting anything other than a good first person shooter with cyberpunk aesthetic, I easily could’ve waited longer.
Seriously, didn't they announce this in like 2013? Why the hell would they do that so early?
There's a significant amount of cut content that becomes more apparent the further into the story you get but they didn't release the game based off how crazy the fans were going. The decision to release before the holidays had nothing to do with us and everything to do with investors and CDPR executives wanting to get those extra Christmas sales.
@@jerrodshack7610 that was a big mistake for sure. It seems best to not even mention a game until it's close to release, gamers have no patience, so it's not easy to manage expectations if news gets out and the hype train starts. Even then, a rumor or a leak is all it takes to get that train rolling, next thing you know the company is in hot water for not announcing something that all began with a rumor/leak in the first place. 2018 Blizzcon comes to mind.

My bet is that higherups at CDPR wanted to ship the damn game already after almost 9 years of development, and the dev team managers assured them it could be done (no doubt in exchange for fat pay raises and bonuses). And you can't really blame the fans for being rabid after the marketing team overhyped the game to the max.
In contrast to Cyberpunk, take a look at Elden Ring -- it is probably THE most anticipated game ever (maybe even more than CP) and Fromsoft only released one trailer, one interview with Miyazaki, and one Twitter statement saying "we're working on it". That's literally it. No fancy streams, no deadlines, no bragging, no fan engagement, nothing. And yet all of us are patiently waiting for it whenever it's ready because we know Fromsoft will deliver a masterpiece as they always do. CDPR could learn a thing or two from From (no pun intended).
@@WarriorWithin111 9 Years? How did they make Witcher and 2077 at the same time then?
@@Thfoxpz They probably didn't, but that's not the point. The game was first announced in mid 2012 and the first trailer dropped shortly after, making it the official starting date. CDPR slowly nurtured and intensified the hype each year after that. My guess is that during the first few years, there was only a single small team working on it (mostly writing ideas on paper) while The Witcher 3 was the primary (and only) focus. Hyping up a game that wasn't even in the initial phase of development was a bad move because it led to this kind of backlash. And deservedly so, IMO.
Cyberpunk 2077 is exactly what it should be warning us about. Rich people abusing and using working class
Mine Pondsmith's Cyberpunk is an alternate reality where government super powers collapse and in their wake rises mega corporations that act similar as nations do now. It's crazy how the top 0.1%, who hold most of the wealth and control most of society, have successfully managed to convince the masses that the most powerful people are not the reason why everything is broken. No, the real enemy, they say, is the government. The real problems are the regulations designed to keep the 0.1% from doing horrible things. They've convinced people that everything would be better if we'd just stop taxing and regulating the rich. It's mind-boggling that anyone would ever believe that, but here we are.
This was so needed! Respect man for saying things that needed to be said! Appreciating the hard work of all devs! I didn't think it was possible but you guys won my heart all over again!
This is exactly how I feel about this game. CDPR when they released the Witcher 3 had to give a graphically downgraded version so that the game could run on consoles and got destroyed for it. So when they went all out showing us what their game engine is capable of, the consoles couldn't handle it. Even for initial delay, they were thrashed around and when they had a choice to let the game out; even when it wasn't ready and a delay would've been better, they gave in to fear of the backlash. Aren't those Director's Cuts for games with Kojima style acclaimed directors? The videogame industry still puts a lot of emphasis on the brand that's producing the game, rather than the director or team of developers.
Which is good for the producers who profit, but bad for the actual artists (and by extention, the gamers).
The problem is the core game itself, it's not fun or interesting. Sure they can fix most of the bugs but it's still a mediocre game at best. I tried to like it, I really did, I put 8 hours into the game and eventually I just gave up, I was bored to death.
Let's stop pretending this game has anything in common with the Witcher because it doesnt... it's a turd painted in gold. Yes, a boring, regular old turd. If the devs worked another 2 years adding gameplay mechanics and interactive world it might be fun but I dont see that happening and besides, people will forget about it in 6 months so theres no point.
If you want to play a true next gen, interesting, action packed, story driven title with RPG mechanics play Red Dead Redemption 2.
@@BillClinton228 I do agree, that game is not similar to W3 but that is because nobody said it would. A lot of people that were waiting for it always hoped this game would be similar to original Deus Ex, which I can say it at least in part is. CD Projekt games always have a complete edition about 6 months down the line. The Witcher Enhanced Edition, The Witcher 2 Enhanced Edition, The Witcher 3 GOTY/Complete Edition. For me none of this is a shock and the game is everything I wanted. They'll continue to patch it, add free DLC and eventually release some expansion packs. I just think they should have used this time to ensure the base version was ready and then release upgraded visuals to the game later. The fact that the bugs are worst in this game purely comes down to it being completely new to what they had done before.
Just play it on next gen

I feel so bad for the devs and actual working crew for the game. You know this was their baby and the corpos just shat all over it.
They definitely screwed the Devs
But don't u think the devs have some say in this
If they realised that the game they were selling was very very underwhelming for the hype
They would do something about it
Infact they came out only to tell it works great on base consoles
And if the devs felt forced upon or cheated on, someone would have come out, probably anonymously and would have spoken about how hard it was for them to catch up with the deadline
But none of that sort, they confidently sell the game, and openly apologize for the "supposed" scam, let sony take the game out
Bcos they knew the mess they had created (both the corpos and the Devs)

@Robert Abounader lmao yeaaah sure mate. Sure.
Almost burst in to tears (slighty to touched by this) but I have waited so long for this game and I enjoy every moment of it on my PC, with Characters I already hold dearly in my heart. And now this... I feel so sorry for the devs.! You really spoke right out of my heart and I really hope that something changes at CDPR.
The devs are part of the problem. Everyone wants to defend them and waits it’s the higher ups. But this devs are the same people that leak shit all the time. They knew the game was this broke as they worked on it. The PS4/X1 should work as well as the pc. Of course the game wouldn’t have the same details but we knew that 8 years ago when this game was announced. Announced before the PS4/X1 were even released.
Plus, a lot of reviews feel the game has no feeling to begin with. Even side missions or side stories in Witcher 3 had emotion to them. CP2077’s writing is awful. Characters don’t have no connection. The problem is people like you still buy the game but also want CDPR to change. That will never happen when they already made their money with preorders. The refunds won’t be enough to put a dent into those pre orders. Don’t buy the game next time if you hope for change. Btw, the pc version was buggy as hell too but the PS4/X1 were unplayable.
@@face76 I agree with you about not preordering games on a large scale for them to actually change. That's true in general imo.
The rest is subjective though - I'm playing on PC and have both great performance (just upgraded to a decent rig) and little to no bugs (only bugs so far: a few floating phones, invisible hat in the mirror and rarely a background npc or two popping in). Bugs are random as hell, even among my friends who all play on PC. Some with the same strength of their systems have no bugs while others even had their game crash at some point lol. That is something they should fix first and foremost.
As for connection - I've enjoyed the main story quite a lot, liked most of the characters and probably felt the emotions I was intended to feel, especially in certain emotional plot points. As for side missions, I'd say there are ups and downs. Some side missions were genuinely hilarious, thrilling or sad, while others did feel kinda flat. The latter ones didn't hit me with emotions, but I still got enjoyment from the gameplay aspect of it, which is still good enough for me to do them and not be bored.
I've recently replayed Witcher 3 (with some minor mods) and loved it a lot, especially the story/writing (duh :D). Looking back, the combat and crafting was really mediocre (though that's of course not the focus). It's hard to compare the two games imo, but if I were to try I'd say I enjoyed W3's writing a tiny bit more (mostly because of Geralts personality and the length of the story making me connect/invest in it more) than CP2077, which was still great imo. Overall, I think I enjoy Cyberpunk more right now because of it's gameplay and city design. And I also think they can improve it for a lot of people (ofc performance and bugs, but also some open world stuff, some of the superficial stuff that people want and some endgame grinding systems), so it got lots of potential. I'm also interested in the DLCs, which were almost the best part of W3 imo!
Sorry I understand the devs went through hell and made a potentially great game, but what I don't like (which Matt did) is saying this was a next gen experience. If they knew this needed to be next gen they shouldn't have put it out on anything but PC and then 6 months later put it out on PS5 and series X.
All in all the company straight up lied to the people that revere them and love their games.
@@face76 lol talking bad about devs trying to leak pieces of their work like that's the peak of evilness, i can't with you.
@@marcushankins8171 Agreed. The result is a next gen experience (as in that it only runs well on high end hardware, mostly PC of course, and can look and feel absolutely stunning there), but it was explicitly marketed and sold for last gen and that's just a dick move. I really hope they can fix the performance issues for last gen enough that those players get to actually enjoy the game. At least they've come forward with the option to refund, which was the bare minimum. We can just wait now though and see how the situation develops - there is lots of potential for improvement at least.
I still believe in this game, one day I'll play it when i can. like withcher 3 that i just play 5 years later its release
It’s funny, I bought Witcher 3 back when it launched on PC bad didn’t have a pc good enough to run it. Playing on the PS4, but even through all the shit it’s such a fun game. I was raised by Bethesda so this game was made for me.
I really do feel for console gamers and I understand their anger......But I'm loving this game HARD on PC even with a i7 with 1070 GTX....And I'll totally buy the "Finished" version when I get a new pc (those Ray-Tracing looks out of this world).
Exact same with me. I am playing on PC. I had a few minor bugs, but only a handful after like 8 hours of playing. I was confused. "Why are so many people complaining? This game isn't more buggy than the Witcher 3 during release". And then I saw how it looked on PS4. This game was simply not meant to run on last gen consoles. But because of greed they've released it on the last gen consoles anyway.
I've been playing on PC for 20 hours now, and the number of glitches/bugs I've encountered is astonishing... Nothing game breaking mind you, but still. Only once did I have to reload a save because I entered a car for a mission before the NPC accompanying me did, and therefore he didn't want to get in anymore, no matter for how long I waited.
The game CLEARLY lacks polishing, and a craaaaazy amount of content got skipped, obviously.
It's a shame, because the game is somewhat fun (and really beautiful, but graphics don't matter the most), although not a "great" game in any way. It's an "OK" game that could have been much much more. But the lack of polish and the banality of what it proposes stains the reputation of an otherwise beloved studio, and that's a shame.
Were gamers overhyping this game since the E3 trailer in 2018? Surely (although I never got hyped about what I saw, I actually got turned off by the stiffness of the movements and the gunplay).
Did CDPR communicate too strong too soon about their game? Of course.
Did they also feed gamers false hopes about stuff they didn't implement? Yep.
They kind of dug they own graves though. I see many people conflating their appreciation for this game with how good or bad really is, somehow to convince themselves that they were right, that CDPR can't make a bad game, etc.
I'm pretty sure about where I stand on that whole debacle: It's not really a good game, but it's fun. It could have been much much much more though, and that's kind of CDPR own fault.
Thank you for drawing a distinction between CD:PR management and their programmers, it's important people direct their criticism at the former rather than the latter.

The cast of characters that you meet along the way is interesting and so is the way their quests are presented to you, the world feels even more alive when you all of the sudden recieve a call to meet or hang with them. *Everyone was acting like this game was the second coming..*
Seriously. Ridiculously average game.
It is
@@sp1cychick3n It's certainly above average, probably even great. Many of the issues (aside from terrible optimization, bugs, and shit console ports) that people have with the game come from a misunderstanding of what the game was supposed to be. People expected a game with the open-world sandbox of GTAV/RDR2, combined with Disco Elysium style RPG conversation elements, and combat to rival games based entirely around their combat. This was again due to poor marketing and the failure to temper expectations properly before release, leading to disappointment.
The Witcher 3 (which is considered one of the best games ever btw) has many of these same issues, empty open worlds, NPCs with like 2 voice lines, limited customization, and your choices have fairly little impact. What makes it a great game is the amazing art and world design, excellent character writing, and acting, all held together with solid and fun gameplay. Cyberpunk has upped both the quality of characters and moment to moment gameplay while completely blowing the world design of The Witcher out of the water which is why takes like this make me sad.
@@trevorsignorini6809 I disagree. I'm not even comparing it to Witcher 3. I'm going to compare it to Deus Ex, a 20 year old game. It's disappointing compared to that. The art is good, I'll agree. There was definitely so much content cut (you can tell by some of the perks/skills, such as the commando one).
It's nothing special. It's worth playing, definitely, but not the game of the generation that people are saying.

What their marketing team should have been doing instead of pushing the devs to finish before it was done was just state the truth. How hard would it have been to say, "this game has become next-gen to the point that it can't run on 8 year old hardware".
not really,RDR2 run well in the base game and it's a complex game just like cyberpunk.
yeah to be fair it's different but rdr2 is the proof that it can be done.
and there are more small details in rdr2 than in cyberpunk so.....
the npc in cyberpunk is really stupid compared to rdr2 and as you say cyberpunk supposed to be a next gen only game.
Not hating on the devs, but 9 years for this "not bad" game?
And that's exactly what he said? That it should have only released on next gen hardware
@@alittlebitdissapointed6834 I gotta take issue with this. A lot of RDR2 terrain was generated dynamically, while CP2077 is rendering densely packed buildings with a lot of assigned textures. I think a lot more of the code is devoted to loading and rendering the environment.

I finished my first playthrough of this game, and honestly the end made me cry. It's a bummer that the developers were forced into a sisyphusian task of making this beautiful masterpiece run on last gen consoles. It was honestly one of my favorite games I've ever played.
If they enough dev time it wouldn't be much of an issue for last gen consoles. GTA V on PS360 had much more sophisticated AI and more advanced physics than Cyperpunk 2077 as well as an overall more interactive world and it ran fine consoles from 2006.
@@weaverquest The framerate was shit, textures muddy, draw distance to rival a bees dick (meaning obvious pop-in), less detailed character models & animations, disgusting load times (like 5 minutes on a 360), and the open world was mostly empty space. The AI in GTA V wasn't good either, scripted open world events don't mean intelligent AI, and there was basically nothing to do in the world. There are plenty of videos on youtube that point out how games like GTA V have hollow open worlds, which have a facade of being living, but you can't enter any buildings, AI follow extremely basic paths, and there is zero interactivity outside of main story.
I really liked my first playthroughbut but I really despised what I learn with the second: the game is a lie, a very beautiful lie but a lie. It's the best exercise of a perfect lie I've ever seen. The game makes you think the game is an RPG full of choices but in reality it's not, at all. You can see all the endings from the same run, you only need to choose what ending do you want and what you've done matters jackshit (did you kill the voodoo? doesn't matter, didn't you kill the voodoo? the same). Same with the relationships, it doesn't matter if you think you've failed that or that other relationship, the relationships are fixed from the start depending on what gender did you choose and it doesn't matter if you are a jerk or not, If you have a dick, Panam is for you. It's a linear game masked as an RPG full of choices. I enjoyed the game but I felt horrible knowning they fooled everyone. The worst part for me was finding the truth after so many hours. Bugs are fixable, the game not having choices and not being actually an RPG is not. There's a reason why they erased "RPG" everywhere and now is only described as an "action adventure game".
It hurts that CDPR was the one who did this to their fans. They could release a game without anyone asking questions because everyone believed in them and they took all the advantage they could.
@@trevorsignorini6809 There are also plenty of videos on youtube comparing how superior GTA V's AI is compared to Cyperpunk. In GTA V both traffic and pedestrians behave in a realistic manner. If you do something to scare them they drive off and can run you over. NPCs call the police with their smartphones and you can leave the crime scene before cops even arrive. Do you even realize how much better these kind of systems are in GTA V compared to Cyperpunk? NPCs don't have unique lives of their own if you follow them sure, but they don't break the illusion in moment-to-moment gameplay that's what matters. Even then it is actually very impressive how you can see Franklin, Trevor, and Michael go about their day when you switch to them. They don't simply disappear when you switch to a different character (you can even make them meet in the same spot by leading them to the same location while switching and they will interact realistically even offer to hang out). There is smart AI that controls them without player input. Character animations were top tier at the time and Rockstar's euphoria physics which governs gameplay animations is still some of the best to this day. Way better than how Cyperpunk handles it actually (which is one of the reasons why it is locked to first person as the third person reveals how terrible the animations are). Sure the textures were muddy by today's standards but it was one of the best-looking games on 7th gen consoles. I mean we are talking about a console with 256 MB VRAM so how much of a knock is it to call textures in that game muddy?
"There is zero interactivity outside of the main story" This is a downright idiotic statement and almost as if you are talking about a different game. GTA V is almost better outside of its super hand-holdy main story. There are many strangers and freaks missions given by random NPCs, can engage in pretty much any kind of sports from races, biking, tennis to triathlons, buy all kinds of properties and do unique jobs related to them, can smuggle weapons as Trevor with a plane, buy weapons, cars, planes, tanks and more on the internet, can trade in the stock market, do the randomly generated events like saving a construction worker or driving drunk people to their home (or to the altruist camp as Trevor), hang out with people on your phone's contact list, go to the flying school, do stunts missions with the plane on Trevor's airfield, go to the shooting range and try getting gold medals in all the challenges, pick up the submarine and collect nuclear waste from the ocean for money, do taxi missions, do yoga, it goes on and on. Sure a lot of the activities can be boring like most games outside of main missions but GTA V simply has too much interactivity with the world outside of the main story and is one of the few open-world games that can integrate them organically and diegetically. Most importantly though GTA V is an actually a fun sandbox game where you can have a lot of fun free-roaming since Rockstar nailed crucial gameplay stuff like driving, physics, and the wanted system unlike Cyperpunk. The fact that the online portion of the game is so popular to this day is a testament to how good the systems in place were originally.
@@weaverquest nah cyberpunk still better.
THIS is the review that cyberpunk and the devs deserve!!
This channel has honestly been one of the most amazing and necessary voices to speak on behalf of developers. Merry Christmas you two!
"the color of a sky tuned to a dead television channel" - can I play as a neuromancer in Cyberpunk?
I liked “live with... that...” a little more than I’d like to admit
I adored that Matt threw in an actual Neuromancer Reference. And good Job Matt you and Shelby have excellent voices for UA-cam.
Im totally expecting this to turn out like No Man's Sky and they deserve every cent for making the game playable despite the glitches and bugs. 30+ hours in, completed the main storyline and that's just barely scratching the surface.
And this game is literally a meme machine. What more could you ask for?
It's CDPR, they have busted games on release all the time and they fix it right away. Boyfriend is right about the fact that CDPR had to spend precious QAQC time porting this insane next gen game onto obsolete peasent consoles.
@@Peglegkickboxer yeah seriously, this game was meant for PCs, not console. Sure they could smush whatever tech they can minimize but it still wouldnt be as good as PCs.
Since the PS4 we had the 1080, 2080 and then recently 3080 gpus that do raytracing. Surely the PS4 wouldnt be able to process all that.
Sucks to be them but hecc, you can't fix the plot but you can fix glitches so theres that! xD
@@BxBxProductions The newest xbox and playstation are barely at the 2000 super series in power. The newest games like Cyberpunk are starting to require 3000 series for their high end graphics which won't see the light of day outside of a PC. Either way still can't wait to play the game (gonna wait a bit first).
That moment when you accidentally come onto a guy, he rejects you and you still get offended. 😂
How dare you insult Keanu's acting! I am shook! LOL
This game was something else. I loved it and didn’t like it at the same time.
Like… it was fulfilling and not satisfying at the same time.
5:52 That Neuromancer reference tho...
Sky the color of television tuned to a dead channel!! Thank you for the precious Neuromancer reference!
Thank you for finally, finally putting out the nuanced and measured take on this game I was really hoping to see. I wish there had been more chance for you to talk about your positive experiences in the game for those of us on the fence to buy, but the message you had to say was just. WAY more important. Thank you so much!
@Cody wat
Congratulations for the ™ on Girlfriend Reviews. I don't know how long it's been there but I just realized it
Holy shit I thought I was the only one who thought this game was pretty solid (if you play on pc). I'm not crazy, thanks Matt!
lol ok
Plenty of people think its solid, from what I seen about people having real issues are on Base PS4 and Xbox. Honestly, I have a PS4 Pro that screams whenever I play COD so I knew it wouldn't run Cyberpunk, not sure what these fool expected
@@ChrisDeebo the game literally has problems even ignoring all the performance issues. Those are core game problems that for most part cannot be patched in just like that tho.
Same homie, When I was seeing reviews and videos of people bashing it it made me a little irritated since it was a fun game. Glad others are having fun too.
@@ChrisDeebo In open world simulation aspects like physics, NPC AI, and wanted system it is very underwhelming behind PS3 era GTA games. It also doesn't have most of the RPG elements promised by CDPR in the past. The game was clearly rushed, they had to cut a lot of content and obviously didn't have enough time to iron out the bugs by launch. Honestly pretty all of this games problems comes down to not enough dev time but they did still deliver in the story and characters department just like Witcher 3.
Thank you for giving this a voice! Since launch, I've been trying to formulate my thoughts about how this has all gone wrong and you've done it so much better. The theme ties to Gibson, the experience of playing this game, the corporate nonsense...wonderful. Thank you.
TY for sending a cyberpunk message of "God bless us everyone" instead of adding to internet vitriol. And the "the color of television, tuned to a dead channel" comparison. That made my Christmas neuromorning.
Gotta love the more serious content on this channel. The humor is good and all but these people are brighter than they often let on and it really shows in some vids. Great stuff guys!
Might be one of the best Christmas gifts I’ve got this year: this review.
It's not a review. We're gonna get a review as a new year's gift. How cool is that? :D
@@verrigo Release the review NOW, or WE ALL RIOT!!! 🤪
Playing on Xbox One X and it plays great with a few minor bugs and glitches in over 40 hours. I hope they continue to fix it for the base and with hot fix 1.06 they seem determined to. I also hope they learned a valuable lesson going forward, because this is another great game content wise from CDPR. Merry Christmas and happy holidays to you all!
It’s an awesome game on ps4, don’t understand all the bitching
Actually the game has game breaking codes preventing people from completing even some of the first missions. Such as the heist and the many many different issues in regards to the car outside the club. From it being upside down. Nothing happening when you get into it. Jackie gone. Car gone. His bike gone. Ect ect. It still isn’t fixed I am a victim of one of these and it was said to have been fixed in the latest patch but it still isn’t!!! Still stuck with every other side mission done and unable to leave this small area of nightcity. Was enjoying the game too till this happened.
@@johnsherry6021 I didn’t either, till I ran into a glitch that is now hindering me from progressing the main story.
Do I dare bring up the police too lol
@@johnsherry6021 NPC AI and police system. Gta 5 has better physics. If you are having fun good for you
Thank you. You've put my thoughts on the game in a neat package that I can point to instead of having to explain myself over and over. 👌
"60 Dollars in the Garbage" has been in my head for pretty much 5 weeks now
The game has some pretty good storytelling and dialogues and absolutely great graphics, but let's not lie to ourselves: the game has some problems in the gameplay department too, beside the obvious bugs and broken console versions. It's clear to me the suits at the top forced the devs to cut a lot of corners.
I know, right? The conversation seems to be almost exclusively about how the game shouldn't have been released on older consoles as if the PC version is perfect. I play on a high end PC and have had numerous graphical glitches, 1 crash, several soft-locks in quests and am generally disappointed in several design features. I can switch out my eyeballs whenever I want, but can't give my character a haircut? Cops forget you as soon as you turn your back to them. I literally saw lorem ipsum in the skill tree menu earlier. Not necessarily complete trash, but pretending like a fantastic game on PC is a stretch for me. I'm glad so many people are enjoying it, though.
The problems seem to come primarily from the game just not being finished and finalized. Like the way police are implemented in the game is clearly just some kind of very basic placeholder until they could implement things like more advanced driving/pathfinding AI, but the devs just werent given the time to do so.
It's the same with things like skill perks, character progression and crafting, a basically functional framework is there, but it hasnt been tested enough to be balanced. You can shoot and stab your way through Night City and look good doing it, but by level 35 you will probably be an unkillable monster with obscenely powerful weapons, and will have a hard time finding any challenging content in the entire gameworld.
@@ErikNonIdle Exactly! There were several promisses made by CDPR that simply aren't in the game, and sometimes it seems the bugs are the only problems. This game may be good, but it's far from great.
@@andreavetter5015 disagree, I believe it's great, just not the second coming of christ
@@effortlessfury I wish they would have done that. I don't think the game lives up to what the devs intended even on new consoles and PC. I can't say I know anything about what that work environment was actually like, but I definitely feel the time was mismanaged.
The game well and truly needs fast storage and a lot of ram. It's great on good pc hardware. It's great running on PS5 and XsX. It shouldn't have been released for past gen.
Well, it was marketed for the last gen for the majority of its development cycle.
@@BihagDave then they should have delayed the game again or said ”sorry we can’t make it work”.
@@Sizzox I agree. What they did was definitely stupid. Didn't the CEO at some point say it was 'surprisingly playable on last gen consoles' or something? Didn't expect blatant lies from CD Projekt
I have a 5900k and 2060 super and have to run the game in 1080p on low to get 30 fps. Its truly the shittiest performing game ever. If your game looks like shit when you turn of all the fancy settings, your game looks like shit. Try putting a competent game to low like half life alyx, it looks almost like ultra just a less umph.
@@LANLAMPAN thats the biggest issue with this game imo, the optimisation is inexcusably bad. Luckily I've got a 2080 so I managed to get it looking pretty good with decent performance, but I still had to turn off RT completely to get a 60fps minimum (1440p) but I wouldn't even have got that without DLSS.
