Dude! This video is already making me nostalgic. If you ever get bored of mountains and clean air, don’t hesitate to migrate out here 🤙. Also… big agree with the whole video.
If you guys ever want to see a drone show in the Detroit area lemme know! I do Firefly Drone Show's video production. I also live in a van I converted and have too many cameras :)
For me it seems like we misinterpret what social media should have become. The idea of being able to connect so easily with people all around the world is just incredible, you can share literally anything within seconds but yet for most people it just has negative effects which is really sad.
Yeah you are right saying that social media on most people has a negative impact - we consume more than we produce - Yuval Noah - has a few great videos about this topic which blows my mind - I really recommend to watch an interview of his
Making me feel all the things in this video. The part about people on the internet generously sharing experiences and wisdom is so awesome. I feel so much love and gratitude for some of these creators I follow. Thanks for the video brother!
It’s also crazy that there are people on the internet that you have never met nor spoken to that you’ve had an impact on! I’m definitely more of a ‘lurker’ and hardly ever comment but figured I’d comment that you truly are a source of inspiration for some of us.
Well said. I've found recently that being a producer, not just a consumer, on the Internet is one of the best ways to find community and connection, and unlock the promise of these social platforms. We're all subject to the downsides as consumers -- might as well reap the upsides as a creator!
Goodness Jake.. you put into words and video what so many others may feel is impossible. Cannot tell you how rewarding it is for us as creators to see you going in this direction and taking on this new chapter. It's inspiring to watch, as well as a way to sort of put "gas in our tank" and realize that one day, we may be able to connect with those that have reached us in such a profound way. Dang.. aren't you glad that the internet sucks ;)
Feel the same in sooo many ways. Really cool to see the UA-camr community meet up like this and can't wait to do the same one day with others. Can't wait to see you keep checking off your list.
Absolutely true, I learned all what I know, I survived with my family since I lost my full time job in 2013 on the internet in the same time now I am worried about my son not to missuses it!
It's crazy that you talk about the people who've impacted your life without ever meeting them/just over the internet cause that's no doubt what you are for so many people (myself included) Thanks for another great video, with an amazing story. and thanks for encouraging us all to grow in our passions/dreams.
Your videos give me that same feeling you were talking about in the beginning about how other creators sharing their gifts has inspired you. Keep killing it!
Internet is marvelous and full of miracles all around. I can't even imagine a life without internet and most importantly without creators like you. Forget about life I don't even know what my imagination would like if the internet is not there. All those ideas I get, all those resources and everything around. As a 21st century born i don't know what life looks like without internet. But one thing I know is that people and communities like yours making this place more and more beautiful day by day. Love you as always Jake. I believe in you 🤗🤗❤️.
Working solo is great but often can be hard just to work by yourself and that is why we should surround ourselves with great people that will satisfy our need of truly connecting with each other - I can't wait to see the continuation of your journey!
This man is literally a better version of casey neistat because we can all actually relate to him and his storyline and structure in his vids are better too, keep killing it man!
I just want to say I really enjoy all your videos and they make my day a little bit better. I enjoy hearing your perspective on things and as an engineer myself I can relate to the desire to try a more unconventional lifestyle. Cheers and happy travels 🥾🧳
Jake I’ve seen a few of your videos previously but started watching some this week after hearing you on the podcast with Matti. Love your story telling and all the amazingly creative shots. Can’t wait to see where this journey takes you man. Thanks for the inspiration.
Duuude! I was so stoked when I saw you in his last video! I was waiting for this one to come. Thanks for always being an inspiration to get out there and vlog more! Keep killing it dude.
We all have or are using the internet in a way we shouldn't. It's easy to fall into the trap. But stories/videos like this help to make the right decision. At least it is helping me. The composition of that last shot and the way it ended the video has put me right back into the creative mindset. Thank you Jake.
You are one of the most inspiring people I know. Absolutely love your videos! I live in Michigan and the bit about Lake Michigan being one of the largest lakes you'd ever seen was funny. It really is somethin!
What a great video. And shows if you use the internet in the right ways, it can be awesome and life changing. Great to see Jake and Jesse do some videos together, two awesome UA-camrs!
5 camera placements just for that last drive in. Loved it :) must have felt so good to put the van in there after Jesse's van hosted vids in there when they first moved
Always loved your Solo B-Roll anyway. But this last shot of the van in that big hall… absolutely awesome! Love the idea of using the internet to connect. That’s what I always thought of when I started social media. Unfortunately, when you’re not that big of a channel or profile, people don’t seem to be interested in connecting with you. That’s because the idea of social media changed in so many heads around the globe. People don’t use it as a tool to simply connect. People use it to create their fortune and fame. And unless you bring anything to the table for them, the interest in connecting is so small. Anyway… love your video, love your van, keep doin it!
Very inspiring Jake! The work you do and the story you are building is hitting home to me. I appreciate the vulnerability you expose to us in your videos. Have a great day!
@Jake you have had so many great people inspiring you. But rest assured that YOU are also inspiring many, including this old Aussie bloke. Travel safe Brother
This is amazing bro. Just how inspired you are by Peter, Jessie and Matti..you are doing the same for many others man, including me. Again, this is dope man. 🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾
I love the bucket list adventure. I have had a bucket list for a long time now and would create one with my daughter every summer. I am a newer subscriber and am so inspired that you are creating on the road. I am planning to do this and run my business from a converted van as I travel across Canada. CAnnot wait to see more of your bucket list filming.
The internet is like many other things in life, something that needs to be taken in moderation, and it is a tool that can be used to do a lot of good and to inspire people, which is what I hope to do as well! ✌️
I just don’t understand why you don’t have millions of views. I starter my youtube channel this year, and I don’t understand most of what it takes to get promoted by the algorithm. But I also don’t understand why content like yours don’t get the credit it deserves. Maybe this is my way to tell you that you are simply amazing!
The literal reason why I'm trying to grow my audience online is not to become rich, or anything, but to be able to connect with the incredible people that have inspired me throughout the years. Like you, Jake. Thank you for this, and all your other videos. Cheers!
I think its about being on the right side of the spectrum. Lately I've been consuming content with a lot of hate and negativity especially in the comments. I just have to remember to look at things more positivity and to try to stay away from content that is trying to grab attention from the mass media aka. younger audience.
Not sure if Florida is on your list, but would love to see you incorporate a ninja warrior gym in one of your videos. I can’t imagine some of the shots you would come up with. Maybe with RJ Roman at Obstacle Ninja Academy in Orlando? That’s where some of my “Fear of Failure” video was shot that was inspired by your failure video.
Oh wow you made it happen! good on you, I think I recognise that warehouse from a Mark Bone video?? Is Mark Bone on your “meet” list? He really should be!! all the best.
Hey Jake, I must say you've been doing a great work with the videos. I am just starting to be a fulltime solo filmmaker and want to make videos like you, should I buy a Tripod or a GorilaPod for that? I have seen your gear videos and I am still stuck with the same question. It's be great if you can help me get through this... thanks a lot in advance and keep doing the good work 🙂
Wow how did you get all those different shots from the van? Especially the shots from outside the windshield and when shot changes to inside facing the windshield, I didn’t see any type of camera.. 🤯
Dude! This video is already making me nostalgic. If you ever get bored of mountains and clean air, don’t hesitate to migrate out here 🤙.

Already trying to figure out how soon I can make it back 😂

Truer words have never been spoken! 100%
Jake definitely deserves more than the number of subs he currently has. C'mon people! Quality story every upload.
Agreed!
But can we talk about that shot through the windshield at 3:43!? Great composition.
Making me feel all the things in this video. The part about people on the internet generously sharing experiences and wisdom is so awesome. I feel so much love and gratitude for some of these creators I follow. Thanks for the video brother!

You've changed our lives too Jake! Your thoughts, videography and your ability to story tell inspire me with every video, thanks so much man :)
MY FAVORITE STORYTELLER AHHHH THIS IS SO BEAUTIFUL (and yes, my thoughts are entirely all in CAPS because this video is sooo freaking lovely)
So glad you decided to contribute to the internet :) If you ever make the trek out east to CT hit us up!

Easily the most meaningful creator i know. Always an amazing experience and example.
The shots when arrived at the warehouse were amazing, look forward to seeing how the collab list evolves and who you are able to meet

That ending shot sequence was fantastic. The van in all it's glory lol! So excited for the next part!

Yes dude great to see you two meet up. totally agree with this whole sentiment man.
Is really nice to see you and the other creators making video toghetter!
5 camera placements just for that last drive in. Loved it :) must have felt so good to put the van in there after Jesse's van hosted vids in there when they first moved
Found you through Matti! Great videos man. Your storytelling is so good.

it's not the internet that sucks. it's people... but that's also what's so great about it. keen to see where you go next!
I laughed so hard when you said, "Semi driving backwards down the highway". Great video. Wow, you were going to meet Chris Hau
@Jake you have had so many great people inspiring you. But rest assured that YOU are also inspiring many, including this old Aussie bloke. Travel safe Brother

I love that you were rocking two Poler hats during this vid. Poler is the best! Big love to the Portland Or store ❤️
Man can't wait for this collab!
Just came across your channel and love how you shoot your videos

Your content is so well done, I’m thankful that you’re doing these videos :)
I've seen Matti's and Jesse's videos. I'm excited to see your versions of them. Great video as per usual, sir.
Hell yeah, Jake! So stoked for you!
Wow! What a video! Awesome! I wish Brazil was closer to you man! :) God bless you man! Thanks!

Damn, this one hits so good! Always love your critical thinking Jake
Well I’m stoked to see what comes of this!
Your video of you skating with the helicopter in the shot helped me to get the confidence to go for it
So cool dude! If you ever come down to Mexico let me know. Best of luck up north :)
Love this! Keep it up! Jesse is one of my favs to watch! 💯

Amazing video. Heartwarming and inspiring. Thanks Jake
Been cool seeing you in Jesse's videos and other UA-camrs! And you were in Detroit!! Dang so close!
This does my heart such good. My two all time faves. Only one question… does your pc run Mac OS???
You are making great videos, and you are one of my favourite creators :-) Keep up your great work! Best wishes from a Swiss creator in Hong Kong
Your storytelling is unmatched
Our videos are very different but yours is one of the channels that’s inspired me to start making content.
Wow! I am excited for this series!
This summarizes what I pretty tried to say in one of my previous videos, you just did it way better lol 😃

Hey jake, i would love to see you make a video about dopamine detox...

Beautifully done Jake :)
Hey Jake, I must say you've been doing a great work with the videos.
I am just starting to be a fulltime solo filmmaker and want to make videos like you, should I buy a Tripod or a GorilaPod for that?
I have seen your gear videos and I am still stuck with the same question. It's be great if you can help me get through this... thanks a lot in advance and keep doing the good work 🙂
We like to call Lake Michigan an ocean, because unless you are in Portage Indiana and can see the Chicago skyline, it looks like an ocean. 😂
Ayeeee, cheers to more adventures!!
When I saw Canada 🇨🇦 I thought it will be Peter Mckinnon.
Greetings from Germany 🇩🇪
Wow how did you get all those different shots from the van? Especially the shots from outside the windshield and when shot changes to inside facing the windshield, I didn’t see any type of camera.. 🤯
I'm scared for your graphic card. Love your videos, very inspiring.
I was curious about who set up that camera on the ground level when the van entered the warehouse. 😅 pls explain.
THE VAN!!! You romanticize it so well.
Haha!! The van is the true love of my life
Good to see you again, Buddy....... 👍👍👍👍👍👍
Danke! thanks from Germany
i am currently looking to trade in my subaru STI for a van like yours or a ram 2500. not sure yet. you are great at helping with your videos and tips!
storytelling on point as it is in every video but also HOW do you get some of these shots on your own some of these angles are insane haha

Cool looking forward to the next video
I've been trying to turn my time online into something that will better this so called "life" of mine. Less observation, more connection.
you're an inspiration Jake! 🤟🏻
YESSS JESSEE!
The orange peel is sour but when you peel it tastes sweet that is life ... just have to untavel each experiances
Agreed 🖤😊
