The World Wars were monumental events, and trying to predict the next one is a popular concept in historical and geopoltical spheres. Today though, we did something different, instead attempting to parallel WW2 into the modern day, as a work of fiction for the sake of fun, rather than as an attempt to actually predict something.

4:40 Cool detail that Mexico was the only nation to protest China, since Mexico was also the only nation to protest the German annexation of Austria back in 1938
I did not know that! That’s really cool
Yeah I noticed that too, it was a nice nod to the Anschluss.
Oh really I didn't even notice. I was wondering why?
Ahh, nice catch! I wondered where the narrator got the idea to choose Mexico to protest China in the UN regarding the outcome of the vote in Taiwan, out of all the nations on earth he could have chosen from. You know your history. 👍 🙂
And here I thought he just did it as a joke

I dont know but I really think that, if that happened, modern Russia will be literally WWI Russia, because modern Russia has almost everything that the Tzarist Russia of WWI had. An autocratic regime (Putin and olygarchists instead of the Tzar and the monarchists), an opressed and depressed population by the regime, having invading first in their front (Germany and Austria-Hungary in WWI, and Ukraine now) but then being defeated and forced to leave (Austro - German invasion of Russia in the eastern front in WWI, and Russian forces retreating from northern Ukraine now) and small loyal allies (Serbia and Romania in WWI, Belarus and Kazakstan now) and finally, something that it's still left, but that can be possible in a near future, a Revolution from the opressed population against the regime (February and October revolutions back in WWI, and possibly if russian population is brave enough, a rebelion against Putin regime in a near future.)

There should be a sequel going over what happened during the Glacial conflict, and how it changed the world forever.
In this world I would imagine Afghanistan getting split East-West, with West Afghanistan being a U.S. ally and East Afghanistan being an Indian ally. A war breaks out between each country, in which the fighting is very drawn out, until the U.S. forces get to the Indian border, which is when Saudi Arabia gets involved. The war ends in truce, and afterward West Afghanistan becomes a highly developed country with a strong economy, while East Afghanistan remains a highly oppressive, isolated state well into the 22nd century.

I think this video was really neat, and very creative. I would have liked to see some more parallels for the Iranians/Japanese. The "Germans" and "Italians" got alot of semi-niche coverage, such as "Putin's" rescue from prison. But America's island hopping campaign barely got a mention except for the Kurdistan/Okinawa comparison, and there was no equivalence for the Ichi-Go offensive. Maybe as an alternative, have Iran conduct a surprise attack on Diego-Garcia to destroy American and British naval installations on the island, and conduct a massive naval invasion along the African coast, Madagascar, and the other island chains of the western Indian ocean. Then as America leads naval invasions of the Comoros islands, Madagascar, and Seychelles, Iran realizes it cannot either extract resources from its African holdings, or reinforce them by sea. So Iran launches a last ditch effort against the Arabian League to break across the Suez and down the Nile to link up mainland Iran with it's East African holdings. Just an idea

indochina is wrong, it's actually: Myanmar = Romania; Thailand = Hungary
Singapore= switzerland?
Egypt-australia?
Paraguay - Imperial Federation?
This is one of the best alternate history(future) videos I have ever watched
Looking back on this I don’t see much on how Mongolia was literally just Switzerland: squished between two hegemons
Wow, I loved this story. Surprisingly logical story. And these parallels are genius!
A reenactment of WWI would actually go really well in the modern day actually since most countries would fit very well too
For example:
US: British empire (Both were the most powerful country, have great naval supremacy)
China: German empire (New superpower, authoritarian, new leader is more aggressive than the previous leader to the point that the new leader fires the old leader)
EU: US (isolationist but somewhat align to US/Britain)
India: Russian Empire (most populous nation, somewhat of a rival with China/Germany that is seen as going to eclipse China/Germany)
Japan: France (expansionist during WWII/Napoleonic war and hated by US/Britain in the past, but now is an ally of US/Britain, and is an arch enemy of China/Germany)
Russia: Austria-Hungary (Known to be the "sick man of Europe", was a powerful nation in the past but now a junior partner of China/Germany)
Iran: The Ottomans (The thir wheel for the Central Powers)
ukraine: serbia (The first to be at war)
who woul be italy? bularia? apan?
@@stefanofeblesverastegui8869 Italy could be turkey, they seem to be getting closer to Russia and China, but could very well switch sides due to personal gains
Japan could be Saudi Arabia, they are a mornach dictatorship that is somewhat aligned to the west but not really
Bulgaria kind of does not have a good fit in the modern day, however it would most probably be north Korea since it's the left over central power nation
@@AwesomeNPro Mmmm, I wonder what greece could be
Also I'm pretty sure the leader of Japan said we'll fight them with the butt ends of broken Boba tea cups, because that's bloody well all we've got! Circa 2040
We will fight them in the mountains we will fight them on the baseball fields. We will fight them in the massage parlors. We will NEVER surrender.
I don't know much about the current Japanese prime minister although he seems more like a Neville Chamberlain type, but it's a Pity that the Japanese Akita, Shinzo Abe, got taken out in real life.. I would see him being more like Winston Churchill...
Not sure if Kim dae-jung is still in power in South Korea but out of all of them sounds the most like DeGaulle.
@@eddieschwab864 lol that's a better parody line
You always come up with interesting videos. Well done!
Fuck, now I want a story of the Resistance shenanigans happening in occupied Vietnam.
Selfishly I can't help but wonder what us Aussies and New Zealand were doing during this.
This video was really cool to listen to. I really appreciate the thought you put into it.
If we go by WW2 paralells. Australia =Spain, New Zealand = Portugal maybe?
@@wursthanz5518you just blew my mind

croatia reference lool
bro this would be an insane game idea
somebody got to make one like this
It's also important to remember that after China destroyed some Australian planes Australian declared war against the Eurasians and fought principally in the urals on Russia, a funfact is that the phrase "Australia will only go to war when the kangaroos will start to drink" became "the kangaroo will drink" after the invasion, which became the motto and name of the EAF (Australians Armed Forces)
Bro just created the most epic history loop at the end
I go with a more realistic one:
Ch.1 Let's go team China
Ch.2 America f**k yah
Ch.3 Japan got nuked, sinking to the bottom of ocean
Ch.4 Everyone nukes eachother
Ch.5 Now it is year 2077, and the Fallout timeline just started
哈哈
I love how Europe was equated in importance to the North African theatre. Really speaks about EU policy and how irrelevant we are becoming in world geopolitics.
I think this is mostly because Europe is a low-conflict area today, with the main warmongering state over there not really having that much power.
@@ShnoogleMan probably, but realistically, if russia and europe went to war, putin would get utterly steamrolled
@@WhoMadeThisBurger69 yeah that's what he said
At least Haile Selassie didn't force anyone to eat bugs.
@@TheAzureNightmare Is someone forcing you to eat bugs? Lmao.
Man can you do a video about ww-1 in modern day. Where China is German empire, Russia is Austria Hungary, Iran is Ottoman empire and North Korea is Bulgaria.

Japan, when fascist China tries to invade them: "Well well, how the turn tables"
I like how Europe takes the role of the colonies reversing the roles I guess lol
4:40 Ahaha. That's a reference to Mexico's actual concern over the Anschullus!
The premise was confusing at first but then Bhutan Got Czechoslovakiaed and it all started to fall into place.
I lobe how Mongolia=Switzerland wasn‘t Even mentioned.
I just love how even if China was supposed to represent Germany, they made their East Asian Co Prosperity Sphere
Also as a Malaysian, if this were to happen IRL then China needs good luck to tighten it's grip over SE Asia as Southeast Asia is sooooo patriotic to the point so I'm willing to bet there would be so many resistance movements
pretty much like what happened to Japan during WW2. There was the VietMinh, Thai resistance, Hukbalahap, Eighth Route Army, Korean Independence Army, Burmese Independence Army which betrayed Japan in the end and etc
I’ve imagined this scenario so many times in my head thank you for putting it out here on youtube
