The main problem here is that they chose the worse L20 battlecruiser variant, if I remember correctly, Zieten is the VK 3006 or 3008 from the design drafts, the only difference being that Zieten got 406mm guns not the 380mm guns that where planned for this thing. I'm glad that they didn't notices that there is a 2 tower version, basically a pre-dreadnought (it had 2 turrets, 1 fore and 1 aft, 380mm guns)

@@lesvickroy6537 I just don’t have the patience to try and figure this ship out. Such a rough tier for a very particular ship. The tier 7 is a pretty solid ship. I didn’t mind taking that one into tier 8 matches. Zieten on the other hand, I was praying for tier 7 MM.
@@justin3415 That’s one of the ROTW camo’s they give out as prizes. Gives 100% xp bonus so it’s great for grinding. On paper the Zeiten looks ok until you see the rest of the BB lineup at the tier. Tough ship that I might have to revisit someday and see if I can make it work.
@@dustinbaxter4521 she’s a rough one. Not terrible but she suffers due to amount of good ships at the tier. Then factor in the very specific playstyle needed to make it work. I didn’t have the patience to want to learn the ship.
I must admit, I skipped the Zieten in the German BC line grind. I did not like it either, and dismissed it as a crap ship. But then I have run into people in games that play this ship well and make life difficult for you in it. So I acknowledge there probably is a fair bit of “user error” when I found it so bad. I’d love to see them play and how they do it. Maybe I’ll grind it on my second account and try to see if I can make it work…
@@kardy12 I might pick it back up and try to figure it out. I just ran into so many Atlantico’s during those few games I played in that ship. Frustrating ship to play at that tier with the overload of BB’s.
@@TheSoulfire73 Yeah, t8 can be a tough tier to grind through as there are so many good premiums there. Even in pretty good tech tree ships (or at least tech tree ships I like) like Hawke and Amagi you can have a tough time when facing Atlantico/Roma/DZP combos etc. Good Richi players can also make your life hell with good positioning. It’s even harder when it’s a ship you don’t get along with. Rupprecht is worth it though.
You are definitely spot on. Zeiten just sucks! I’ve tried everything to make it better and nothing for me works. Haven’t made it through the battle honors yet because I hate playing it.
I wouldn't say Zieten sucks but it's definitely underwhelming and the oddball of the line. I wouldn't say it's as weak as conqueror for it's respective tier though, alot of the time it just feels like a Geneisenau at tier 8. The AP secondaries are useless against anything but DDs since they bounce off anything else so stick with the HE, you'll at least get consistent damage and occasional fires. This ship is unfortunately a victim of the Atlantico dominance in tier 8. That ship has absolutely ruined the balance tier 8 and needs to be outright removed from the game.
@@raven2kf Atlantico. I don’t normally stress the ship too much with my normal BB’s. It’s super strong and positively broken in quite a few players hands. Just wait until we get the tech tree line of South American BB’s into blitz…. Part of my issue with Zieten in particular, it’s a total 180 from my playstyle. I’m much more comfortable in more conventional BB’s. I can play the stealth game with some of the BB’s we have. The German BC line is going to challenge me for sure.

Love that blue and yellow camo. This ship is ok. Secondaries are pretty nice. Main guns are rough. She isn't for everyone.

You are not alone. I am not great higher-tier BBs to begin with, but lord I hate the Zieten so much.
When i first got her, it was respawn. I'm so lucky to grind her in respawn. In randoms, such a pain to play Zeiten.
