    First in the series we will cover the cunning Scarlet Lasher! a dragon who hoards its victims instead of conventional treasure...

    I actually started a DnD campaign completely based around my players creating their own Codex. Researching dragons and all the dangers that come with it. So needless to say I'm very excited for this series.

      Now THAT sounds like a great campaign!

      can u give some details on how you would translate that to a players experience

    • @lilacghost2281
      @lilacghost2281 9 місяців тому +8

      @@Achilles_Heelys well my players didn't get very far into the campaign before scheduling issues ended it. But the idea was that their main goals were A: study a dragons social activities. B: a dragon's fighting capabilities. C: the biology of a dragon and what you can do with the parts. So if the players wanted some dragon hide armor to protect themselves from flames they might spy on a species from afar to learn their social habits. Like if it's better to fight a dragon in its lair or when it's out hunting.

    • @Achilles_Heelys

      ok but how would you go about implementing any of those goals in game?@@lilacghost2281

    I would have to imagine this dragon as a dangerous bloodthirsty feared villain/predator in the Jungle and the Great Grass and given him an individual name "Khan" after the Tiger from Rudyard Kipling's The Jungle Book. Like the tiger, the Scarlet Lasher Khan has two sworn enemies in my imaginative take on Kipling's story "Ruby Gillman" the Kraken protagonist raised by the various troll clans in the Jungle, and "Grimmel the Grisly" the overarching Genocidal Poacher from the Village.(plus he too is also an enemy of Ruby while during her time in the village)

    • @enriqueramirez0615
      @enriqueramirez0615 8 місяців тому +1

      As elegant as they are lethal, the Scarlet Lashers weave through the sky like malignant dancers. Legend says their tail can slice a bison in two, & many Slayers bear marks, amputated limbs, and deafness from fighting these wyrms- for the lashers can emit a sound so loud that it stuns victims and leaves their ears bleeding.
      Perhaps the most dreadful feature however is their intelligence. Lashers will build traps, pitfalls, and other entanglements to capture and toy with Slayers. Usually this ends with the victim being impaled on a branch of their corpse tree, used to impress mates.

    No joke, I would read a manga where the protagonist is a normal slayer and where every fight with a dragon, regardless of which one, is well planned and prepared and, even so, he can get screwed, of course every manga needs to have an evolution , but you can do this without getting ridiculous, he can find an ancient ruin that hides methods to tame dragons (eggs) or something like that. I say this without knowing if something like this already exists, and yes, I think too much

I bet there is more bio iron that gets used or dragon steel then mined iron haha.

    I've made my own dragon designs :)
    My favorites are the White Quetz and Blast-Furnace
    The Quetz just looks beautiful, the Furnace is a dragon adapted to create explosions and survive them, meaning heavily armored, it's claw could be used for blunt damage instead of piercing
    I also made a sapient dragon design

    A highly interesting video, unique creature design and good ecology. I'll be sure to check out the other entries in this series as they come out.
    just one minor issue: making the Scarlet Lasher as tall as two and a half 182 cm men would give it a height of approximatley 4.5 meters, whereas 6.3 is closer to three and a half men.

      @@sawyerleeart apart from those books, did you actually enjoy watching the DreamWorks "How To Train Your Dragon" franchise which was a very enjoyable trilogy and were based on the 12 Book series written & illustrated by British author "Cressida Cowell".

    • @enriqueramirez0615
      @enriqueramirez0615 8 місяців тому +1

      DreamWorks Animation & Universal Pictures was initially on board with the 3rd sequel of the franchise "The Hidden World" but after looking over everything they'd come up with the film makers realize something. This wasn't the 3rd sequel they had wanted to make. it was too dark, too somber, it was very close and tone to Cressida Cowell Books, but that was the problem. The decision was made to make the film a light-hearted action adventure experience with only a few elements of somber and scary atmosphere...just a little bit.

    • @enriqueramirez0615
      @enriqueramirez0615 8 місяців тому +1

      Here is a quote from the author.
      "I remember talking to Dean ages ago, before I'd even finished working on the books. I think I was on book two of the twelve-book series. I was telling him my idea of the overarching theme. The basic premise was: What if dragons really existed? what would they look like? What would they be? But the whole story are answers another question: If dragons really existed, then where are they now? That is the overarching question; that is the question my twelve books and the three movies are answering."
      -CRESSIDA COWELL
