Thabk you for this especially for the jacking in depth coming from a gti I didn’t know where to jack from in the back to lift the whole car cause fwd to rwd Big help thank you again
Awesome instructional video sir!!!! I appreciate how detailed you were - explaining the proper gear Oil for both the diff and trans, torque specs, and how you even showed the proper front lift point for the car! Im getting ready to swap in Motul myself!!! It's been a good month since you did the swap, how does it feel? Also, I'm curious to know what motor oil you're using? Motul ectolite 8100, AMSoil signature, etc?
Hello Harrison, Thank you very much! The oil for first 1,000 miles was more than awesome. Some weird things I noticed, like my car mileage, said I was getting like 40mpg+ for first 200 miles and was butter smooth. It seemed to go back to the normal 26 mpg and got a little of the notchiness back, but still better than stock. You won't be disappointed I'm sure! Just last tip is to make sure there is enough oil in transmission cause it has no dip stick to double check the level.
I just changed my transmission fluid and found out it took more than the stated 2.2L (about 2.4L) to fill until it started to drip back out. Did anyone else experience filling more than the stated 2.2L?
Orlando Diaz-Frias I have seen many more people online and in forums say 300 is perfectly fine for the brz and frs. The LS isn't needed for varying reasons for our type of vehicle. As something to do with ours not needing the extra compounds in the LS oil
YUAN ZHANG it’s formulated for the track. It’s exclusively used by some shops as the only gear oil they use. Unfortunately my BRZ was rear ended by big lifted truck. R.I.Pieces. BRZ.
@@MrCodyBlair I I hope you reply I plan on doing a differential fluid change in a few days do I need to lift up the car evenly? Can I just lift the back part of the car and not the front? Hope u reply.
Hey guys, I just need to change the differential fluid in a few days do I really need to lift up the car on all fours even lie like that or can I just lift the back part of the car? Hope someone replies. Thanks !
I can relate to this guy. I normally bring gloves with me but just end up doing it raw because it feels so much better.
Gotta be careful going in raw, you could catch all sorts of things.

Great video. It’s the vibe of having one of your buddies explaining what to. Makes me confident to do it myself!
Good video. Great job showing the jack points since most of the videos on UA-cam don't show this!
Thank you for the comment. I try to do the best I can to explain in depth in the shortest amount of time.
Have a good day!

great video, very detailed, thank you for making this☺
GEO3535 thank you for the positive feedback. Much appreciated.
Thanks for this video man. Very helpful. I bought mine with motul already added and the previous owner says after break in the shifting is much better
Yeah, it's simply amazing! It feels like a new transmission/car. Thank you for the feedback and comment.
Thanks for the video cody, yours and degenerate motoring's tutorials helped tremendously in doing the work.

MrCodyBlair Thank You!!!
Also, any recommendations on engine oil? Do you stick with motul, or any other preference?
Ayyyy Asphalt Gray fam!
I have the same gold Rotas
Good video! Keep it up.
Thank you!
Very informative, thanks for the video.
How often would you reconmend on changing the gear and trans oil? I bought a car new 5 years ago and has only 32k miles. Thanks!
30k is when I would do it and is when I did mine
Is this an Auto or manual as quantities differ?
where did you find the printout
Very detailed, appreciate for info. Should be the same procedure for my fr-s? I have 2015 fr-s. Let me know🤔
Yes, exactly the same!
Have a good day,
Cody.
Thank you very much. I only put 3500 kms on my fr-s. Should i wait for 48kms before changing my fluids.
where can i get the washers? btw i loved the video so helpful
TheAyeboi ft86speed has everything you need
The subaru BRZ differential oil is with LSD or not?

Where can I purchase the crush washers needed for me to DIY ? Please provide me with a link ! 😅
Thank you.
Looks like both of your drain plugs are magnetic - are those stock?
Is the only reason you mixed in some non-LS gear 300 in the rear diff so you didn't have to buy a whole additional quart for the extra .2qt it needed?
Probably a good balance
Do you need to us the LS for the differential or can i use the regular 300?
Orlando Diaz-Frias I have seen many more people online and in forums say 300 is perfectly fine for the brz and frs. The LS isn't needed for varying reasons for our type of vehicle. As something to do with ours not needing the extra compounds in the LS oil
Matthew Wyers okay thank you for the help. I appreciate it.
Hi Orlando,
I would recommend if you have the LS diff. Get one liter of the 300LS and top off with regular, It's only a few extra bucks.
Good Luck.
MrCodyBlair we don't need ls..Our diff is a torson type ..No clutch disk in it
do you track your brz? wondering if the fluid works for the track day frs/brz/86
YUAN ZHANG it’s formulated for the track. It’s exclusively used by some shops as the only gear oil they use. Unfortunately my BRZ was rear ended by big lifted truck. R.I.Pieces. BRZ.
MrCodyBlair sorry to hear that bro but thanks for the info!
Hey i have a toyota gt86 You Need to change that oil every 30.000 km ?
48280.32 for km. Its recommended by the manual that you do it every 30,000 mi = 48280.32 km. Hope this helps

How long did you let your car sit ( cool down ) before you changed the fluid?
Zach Luellwitz Well, I think I just got done with a short drive. It was about 30 mins after. I would wait longer then that, I am just impatient.
