- A montage of my most entertaining corruptions of SMAS.
I had alot so I trimmed them down and crammed in the best parts.
I forgot to add transitions so some parts might seem weird.

I love how Mario's sprite at 4:24 just reads "PLAYER".
It's a placeholder Sprite
PLAYER is where in the vram the Mario tiles will be loaded

8:32 after mario landed on that blue cobrat head, the screen went black because it's too gruesome for us to see how that cobrat attacked mario. it's all like "sorry, we can't show you this part" and it went black.

6:20 - Mario trying to take a shit after taking some acid. Instead he grows a bomb on his head and dies. Then he warps to World 4.

8:30 - Ancient hentai conducted by Mario and a Lizzard Head. Censored.
9:10 - Mario still didn't lay off the acid and now does the moonwalk.

12:09 - Mario again didn't lay off the acid and this time turns into a block and warps to the end of the level. Then he pukes the acid out.

12:58 - Mario won't survive without acid.
13:19 - Godmode Goomba.
13:45 - Mario mixed acid with crystal meth.
14:36 - Mario high on cocaine, marijuana, acid and crystal meth.

Sadly my real cartridge corrupted in a similar fashion to this, i could never fix it.
Probably needs its motherboard cleaned.
Corruption like this one probably needs more than a "cleaning" game runs ok ppu1 sems to be ok but ppu2 is more like the problem also could be the V-ram near of the ppus cause them store the data that ppus are handling like those corrupted datas..
@NightyWolf007 I plan on looking into it further some day. It seems the corruptions stay the same, every time it is booted. The title and game select screens are corrupted, as well the entire player sprites of Mario 2 and the lost levels.
Oddly enough Mario 1 is fine. But Mario 3 has an extremely corrupted title screen and level select map, and the game crashes upon selecting a level every time.
I had a similar experience with my brothers SNES and super Mario world the background graphics had lines going down and the map screen had the same issue but that's about it nothing to crazy aside from it also crashing a lot or just not loading but he had like a bunch of duplicate SNES games so we used a different one from them on

Huh. The fact that several SMW exclusive sounds can be heard throughout this is rather interesting.
This card holds the rom for 4 different games, they're all being mixed together.

I kinda figured you didn't edit the sounds at all.
But the fact that may SMW sounds are present in SMAS's data, suggests it is a VERY extensive modification of SMW. (Which also explains why porting SMAS music to SMW is really easy).
This is super Mario all stars! Just like I remember it!
9:57 Is that that one part of the bassline in the SMB1 Overworld theme, but played with a different instrument? If you're wondering why it sounds like it's disorted, check the SMB1 Overworld version, in the remake.

It is. I don't add sounds or alter my corruptions in any way. I record them with zsnes's video capture and I trim them to fit them all in. I've always wondered about that too though.

I once put in this game wrong once and when it loaded Super Mario Bros. 2 USA It said EXT**********CUMMM*** (Upside down corrupted Mario sprite) WIFE ****7, instead of Extra Life, so I picked Princess Peach/Princess Toadstool. ('*' Means unreadable sprite)

If not, where did that music happen? Which game?
It might have pulled that sound from one of the other games. They all use the same sound program. That's why Super Mario Bros 1 was playing Super Mario World sounds. (The sound program is based on the one from Mario World, so even in All-Stars without World, those sounds are still there.)
Dunno what sound it actually was, but it might have been slowed down or using the wrong instruments.
I'm making a video game, and one part of it is going to look like this!
The way you'll know your computer isn't actually glitching is there will be some sort of test box thing that says "If you can read this, your computer is working correctly."
By that I mean it's going to look all glitchy and crazy.

Why are there so many sounds from SMW when he glitches it?
Probably leftovers seeing as how this game used many of SMW's sound effects and it's sound driver is based on SMW's. Or maybe he's using the version of the game that comes with SMW? Idk...
