agreed right there when my mom and I would go by the movie theater with the windows down we would get the smell of popcorn and we would pull around and go in and get popcorn and take it home
My brother used to work at Cinemark as an Usher and when I would pick him up from work at like midnight or 1am, he would have to take out the trash before he was free to go. Sometimes, he would bring an entire trash bag full of popped popcorn that would be snacked on for like a week or two.
Where are you from??? Where I live, movie theaters "make" popcorn by walking into the storage room, grabbing enormous bags of pre-popped popcorn, and then dumping that awful crap into their "popcorn popper machines." It's as awful as you would expect it to be.
@@nickdeckard1 Probably your standard movie theater popcorn oil, which is a neutral oil of some sort with an artificial butter flavoring and some yellow coloring added. Usually, that neutral oil is soybean oil.
@@knightmare39 fancier places uses canola oil and vegetable oil. The only places you will get coconut oil is from the dumpsters with all the homeless people who uses coconut oil for their deodorant and their toothpaste to brush their terrible teeth.
@@Jessepanda10 that's the worst oil you eat. Coconut oil is about 90% saturated fat. Of course they use it cause it's cheap but they charge you a hefty price for a bag at theaters. I'll go without.
@@Jessepanda10 you are using veggie oil not coconut oil. Besides coconut oil cause huge amounts of health problems like very extreme high blood pressure and makes you fat before you say popcorn.
Coconut oil is the most unhealthy oil you can eat, and is about 90% saturated fat. These theaters charge you a big price for an extremely unhealthy snack. I only make popcorn with olive oil or avocado oil. No wonder heart disease is the number 1 killer. I doubt most theaters even use real butter.
Of course it's unhealthy. Movie theatres aren't health-food stores. They are selling a tasty snack. You aren't supposed to eat it every day. Even a frequent movie-goer might only have it once per month or so.
Nothing like that smell that hits you when you first walk into a theater of fresh popcorn

This definitely reminds me of the glory days that I use to work at Regal Theatres
When I go to the movie I always want it fresh.

Wonder what type of oil they use and what type of salt 🧂..
They use veggie oil and regular table salt
Wow didn’t realize how much fatty oil is put in popcorn.

Fancier places tend to use coconut oil, but we used butter flavored canola oil where I worked.
because they have to heat the oil boxes, this is coconut oil. vegetable and canola oils don't need to be preheated.

What is the source of the salt and oil?
This yellow popcorn salt that comes in a cardboard carton. The oil is pumped in with the push of a button from these plastic bags underneath.
Flavacol if ur still looking.

@@GhostSal I think its called at the movies butter flavored popcorn topping.

That's not the full process of making popcorn. Now do it over and include the boxing/bagging and the buttering of the popcorn!
The large will be 500 bucks nowadays
This aged like old milk. Large popcorn at my theatre is $4.00.
