Thank you for your work Pastor. I do have a question though. Was Saul a special case for the old testament? I mean he has disobeyed God many times yet Samuel says he was saved.
1 Samuel 28:19 - “be with me” could also mean that Jonathan would go to Abraham’s bosom and Saul could go to hell and both would be with Samuel because both paradise and hell were in the underworld in the OT.
pastor, you said that you don't know in old testament when soul and body interchangeably used is before or after man fall and concluded your discourse by saying most probably after fall.paster is there any doubt with Genesis 2:7 you taught as tripartite being ? why pastor ?
No there is no doubt. Sometimes when I’m doing a livestream and thinking on my feet, I can get a bit confused. The soul and body are used interchangeably only after the fall.
I appreciate the indepth analysis of the Word this bother approaches this subject.
I do disagree that we are saved the moment we trust in the Lord and turn our life over to Him. Believing and trusting in the Lord is something we do through obedience to the plan of salvation spoken of in Acts ch 2:38.
In the mind of God there us no such thing as believing without obedience.
Once we believe we must repent or turn from our life of disobedience to God to one of obedience to God.
The first step of obedience is water baptism in the name of Jesus Christ. Repentance is incomplete without water baptism. It is during water baptism in the name of Jesus Christ that spiritual circumcision occurs. This is remittance of sin.
It is as the name of Jesus Christ is called over the baptismal candidate that the Holy Spirit, as a result of the shed blood of Christ ,
circumcises our conscience by removing the guilt from it, and restoring to it its' original childlike sensitivity to sin.
This is the "washing of regeneration":( Titus 3:5) and to "wash away your sins"( Acts 22:16). The definition of the word " regeneration" is to return something to its original state.This is also being" born of water" ( John 3:5)
Lastly, water baptism is incomplete without Spirit baptism. As we come up out of the water at baptism we then pray for the Lord to fill us with the Holy Spirit until He answers our prayer and does so. Then we must surrender the last vestige of our will, our tongue, to the Spirit until He takes control of it, " tames" it, and enables us to speak in the spitlritual language that our English translation calls " tongues".
Once this occurs it triggers the overflow of the infilling of the Holy Spirit( which is what Spirit baptism is) while at the same time the Holy Spirit joins with our spirit becoming one forever to remain a part of us.
This is the renewing of the Holy Spirit" ( Titus 3:5).
Noe we have recieved the Holy Spirit , become new creatures in Christ, and have been " born of the Spirit"( John 3:5)
WE ARE SAVED BY GRACE THROUGH " FAITH" ALONE ! GRACE IS WHAT JESUS DID ON THE CROSS OF CALVARY : HE DIED FOR OUR SINS , BURIED AND ROSE AGAIN THE THIRD DAY ( 1 Cor.15:1-4) The only response which GOD wants from us in order for us TO BE "SAVED" is our "FAITH" in CHRIST and on HIS FINISHED WORK. ( Romans 5:2, Romans 1:16, Eph 2:8-9) . FAITH is RELYING SOLELY ON WHAT CHRIST DID FOR US ON THE CROSS OF CALVARY rather than RELYING on what WE CAN DO. There's nothing we can do TO BE SAVED because SALVATION IS 100% WORK OF CHRIST for SINNERS . there's nothing we can contribute to the crosswork of CHRIST for it is ENOUGH AND COMPLETE. ( PRAYER, CONFESSION , WATER BAPTISM is CONSIDERED WORK ) where if you add it on CHRIST's WORK you can get RID OF THE MEANING OF GRACE ! IF YOU PUT OR ADD ANY ELEMENTS OF WORKS ON THE GOSPEL YOU WILL DESTROY THE MEANING OF GRACE. ( Read Romans 11:6 , Romans 4:16 ) ---- GRACE WILL BE NO MORE GRACE IF WORK IS ADDED).
ACTS 2:38 IS NOT A VERSE FOR SALVATION.... THE BIBLE CLEARLY TELLING US ABOUT THE "CONTEXT" OF THAT VERSE THAT IT WAS A MESSAGE FOR "THE JEWS" THAT REJECTS AND KILLED "THEIR" "MESSIAH" read ACTS 2:36. ( ACTS 2:38 is MERELY A STORY of unbelieving "nation" and not a VERSE for salvation )
CONTEXT IS VERY IMPORTANT FOLKS ! MOST RELIGIOUS PEOPLE TODAY IGNORES BIBLE CONTEXT BECAUSE THEIR MINDS ARE BEING NAVIGATED BY THEIR RELIGION. RELIGIOUS PEOPLE CLAIMS THAT ALL VERSES OF THE BIBLE APPLIES TO THEM ( which is very saddddd ) . THE BIBLE EXPLAINS AND INTERPRETS ITSELF.
SALVATION IN THIS PRESENT TIME IS "NOT OF WORKS" . SALVATION IS NOT OUR WORKS ! IT IS THE WORK OF JESUS FOR SINNERS !
Have you TRUSTED WHAT JESUS DID ???? or are you TRUSTING WHAT YOU CAN DO ??? if you're trusting your OWN WORKS TO BE SAVED then you are just SENDING your own soul TO HELL.
