    I've noticed that those that fish the TVA and other river lakes refer to the dam area as the "upper section" of the lake. In Texas, our lakes are mostly man-made reservoirs from creeks. We refer to the upper lake as the creek, and the lower lake as the Dam. Most of our lakes flow from North to South toward the Gulf of Mexico with the southern or "lower section" having more depth. There are a few exceptions to this general rule here.

      The White River flows south to north in this part of the state. Once it gets to Missouri it turns east and creates Table Rock then Bull, then it turns south and heads down to the Arkansas River and the delta. Most folks refer to the dam area of Beaver as the lower end of the lake but it's up north so it can be confusing. Outstanding video but the upper/lower terminology he used stuck out to me too. Totally understandable confusion though. It's an odd lake.

    Interesting seeing that main lake points are a target in prespawn. I thought bass had moved to secondary points. How much time was your crank bait banging the bottom as opposed to just swimming thru the deep water column?

    • @tgraham2287
      @tgraham2287 4 роки тому +1

      Depends on what stage of prespawn we're talking, early prespawn mainlake may have more fish but as prespawn goes on the fish move back. Eventually the secondary points will hold more fish but there will also still be fish on main lake points since not all bass move through the spawn at the same rate.

    I thought it was odd the way you labeled the sections because I have always heard it referred to as the lower in is the dam and the upper end being the river end. Both local lingo and through the major magazines and shows

    • @simplecircuit
      @simplecircuit 4 роки тому +1

      Same here. In mid-TN, the areas closer to the dam are considered the lower end.

    Man I feel the same way. Been fishing Pickwick TN around Bear Creek and to the upper end dam in TN. Fishing points and bluff walls and creeks with everything. Maybe I wasn't fishing the condition or checking enough diff areas. I'm stumped and about depressed ha. Water is 57-60. Help?

    • @FishtheMoment
      @FishtheMoment  4 роки тому +1

      With water temps from 57 - 60, those fish should be spawning or very close to spawning. I would be flipping shallow cover in the backs of creeks in less than 5ft of water.

      I would be looking for any flooded cover like bushes, laydowns, or trees and flipping a jig and a creature bait. That will work somewhere on the lake. You may need to change the section of the lake to make it work like I explained in this video

    I’m confused as to the terminology for “lower end” and “upper end” of the lake. You used upper to refer to the dam end, but I’m used to that being the lower end. Clarify please.

    • @erinbussard8405

    • @willyoufishwithme1532

      Beaver is just backwards. The river goes from south to north here. Most would call the dam end the "lower" end of the lake but it can be confusing when looking at a map since the river goes the wrong way for a minute.
