This channel not only makes me happy to still see Joey, Brian, Matt, and many others, but also gives me a sense of inspiration to really follow my passions not matter the mistakes and failures that I will face. I absolutely love this way of showing the thought process and even simple mistakes. Thanks so much for this type of gift, this channel, love to all.

I know it's for the video, but requiring perfection to call yourself a maker just isn't right, or healthy. It isn't about making everything perfect, it's just as much about the process as it is the result. Kinesthetic learning can be an amazing thing (and expensive) and you end up with wildly different makers as a result. We are the sum of our experiences, after all. I respect the people that make mistakes and push through and learn from those mistakes just as much as I respect the people that get it right the first time, every time. I really enjoy watching your process and I'm glad you have continued making videos. I am not a woodworker, but I feel like I learn more about my own processes by watching others. The way you are open about the mistakes you make and the efforts you make to fix or minimize those mistakes feeds into my own making processes. Really enjoy these videos, keep it up!
I like this comment so much… my entire career I’ve had coworkers ask me why I “announce” my mistakes… I’ve always wondered… why not? I’ve always looked at mistakes as a way of learning… while it may feel weird sometimes… or embarrassing in the moment… it’s learning and I love learning. Being epileptic, something I know today, might be something I completely forget about tomorrow.. so… yea! I embrace it I guess 🤷♀️ sorry for the tangent 🤦♀️🤣
Just for safety cause I love watching these videos. When a board is falling let it fall especially near saws, the amount of things that can go bad. I would miss these videos way to much

I heard someone say success is only made by a series of strategic failures. From someone trying to really embrace this, thank you!

Great project, loved the finished look. One thing I would like changed would be the keyboard and trackpad, Being a IT guy I know that using a flat keyboard is not comfortable at all and starts being a pain after a few minutes of use. 14 minutes into the video I asked myself "Why am I watching this" lol but I couldn't stop watching, this guy makes good videos I think he deserves my sub. I'm not even into woodworking!
The reason I love watching All these shows that you and your friends have put on is because I am permanently disabled I fought cancer for 28 years And the things you do make me want to keep going and Try some try something new By the way I am cancer free now I am now 51 I am now 51 years old and not supposed to be the age of 4God bless you all
This seemed very emotionally rewarding for you, I can tell and I’m sure everyone else can as well but you and Brian have a special bond that even blood can’t create. He loves you and you love him and the fact you thought of gifting this to him the entire process of the build also shows your character and love/appreciation you have for him in your life. Congrats on the build and oh yea… its beautiful, I am very jealous I dont have something like this for my self!
I grew up watching you on team edge and I just want to say I love this brand of content from you and the story’s you tell while giving us satisfying woodworking. And something I’d love to see from this Chanel is like a renovation of some sorts I think that would be cool. Also I love the longer videos please keep them long form. Much love AC
Thought so too. First video I watched was that horrible space underneath his stairs, that one even had such an unnecessary skit where he FaceTimes his friend… I hope this one will be better tho
I’ve been watching you since I was 15 when you, Matt, and Bryan started team edge. I was subbed even before the first video! I’m now 24. I didn’t really think this channel would be something I would be into but wanted to watch anyways to support you like always. I was pleasantly surprised! You have such creative ideas and it’s fun to see things come together (even through the mistakes lol). I’m so happy for you that you’re getting so much success from this channel so far and I hope that continues. Congrats on what you’ve done so far and I’ll be tuning into future videos like always :)
By the way, the difference between hard and soft woods has nothing to do with strength and more so can be determined by the leaves (hardwood) or needles (softwood) and if they fall during specific seasons or are evergreen. An example is Balsa wood which is considered a hard wood even though its very soft and light. 18 min into the video and im loving it by the way!
Honestly your attitude toward "failure" made me go whittle a little bit before finishing the video. This is very wholesome and I can't wait to see your next build!
I remember meeting Bryan at LAX a few years ago, back in around 2019. He had broken his wrist and was still carrying around his baby in his baby chair. Really cool guy.
The first thing i said after seeing you was "Isn't he the guy from Team Edge?" And it turned out to be right! I am so glad you found something that works for you. I am happy you guys realized your views on Team Edge were dropping and decided to stop and move on instead of trying too hard to keep the channel alive.
Don't beat yourself up. The act of making IS learning through failure. It is impossible to make anything without stumbling your way through unforeseen mistakes and oversights. Ask any maker and they'll tell you the same thing. Nobody has made anything without making mistakes along the way. You are a maker, no doubt about it
Those brass rods could also have helped hold the two pieces of Ebony together. A common technique in Gunpla is to drill two pilot hoels in high stress cinnextions, pass a brass rod through, then glue the two pueces togeher. Might help save another small build in the future.
12:39 if you ever find yourself in that situation again, you can use ratchet straps. Since the long sides stay inside the ends, it’s a great way to pull them in. I’ve had to use it on longer glue ups that exceed my 5ft pipe clamps.
@ I call it the “Must Hurry” shuffle. We all seem to forget how long 5 minutes is (or 8-10 minutes if TB3) and loose our minds trying to make sure the joints are aligned and tight. Tunnel vision is a killer. Also, we forget that those numbers are ‘open’ (assembly) time. You still have additional time to tighten the joint before it’s too late. I’ve rushed like the hounds of hell were chasing me, gotten done and been like “Oh… I still have 5 minutes”. 😂 From Titebond: Titebond Original has an open assembly time of 5 minutes and a clamp time of 30 minutes at 70°F and 50% relative humidity. Titebond III wood glue has an open assembly time of 8-10 minutes and a total assembly time of 20-25 minutes at 70°F and 50% relative humidity.

The reason I love watching All these shows that you and your friends have put on is because I am permanently disabled I fought cancer for 28 years And the things you do make me want to keep going and Try some try something new By the way I am cancer free now I am now 51 I am now 51 years old and not supposed to be the age of 4God bless you all
0:25 seconds in and then i realized who this was LMFAO
LITERALLY I WAS SO SHOCKED
is this the guy from dude perfect
@@DevvinLua youre thinking of Garrett- not him. they do look awfully similar though.
Who is it?
@@tannercoons8399 the guy in the video is Joey aka J-Fred from Team Edge and Dope or Nope
Been watching team edge for nine years already and i still do lol. I'm so glad that your channel is doing good. Keep up the good work!
I recently subscribed to this channel after watching office under stairs, subscription was so worth it, I love how the result looks
Really dope build and I am glad Brian wanted to keep it. I look forward to you christening your next build with the wood burner.
I look at this channel again for the first time in a few weeks, and I find this video was posted 21 minutes ago. Sweet.
Thought so too. First video I watched was that horrible space underneath his stairs, that one even had such an unnecessary skit where he FaceTimes his friend… I hope this one will be better tho
There's a whole film man. And the good ending. Awesome.
When you first said this idea came from your brother, surprisingly, I didn't even think of Matthias. Even though I am a fan of his.
Why? Shouldn't hard wood be hard?
I just heard a fart so loud I had to go up two flights of stairs to check it out
Ur a dog?
It’s always such a pleasure watching and listening to you! Blessings!
Honestly
If you did that at the beach
I'd watch too
always love the naturally concurring potted plants at the beach
12:39 if you ever find yourself in that situation again, you can use ratchet straps. Since the long sides stay inside the ends, it’s a great way to pull them in. I’ve had to use it on longer glue ups that exceed my 5ft pipe clamps.
I have literally done that before. Why didn't I think of it then lol
From Titebond:
Titebond Original has an open assembly time of 5 minutes and a clamp time of 30 minutes at 70°F and 50% relative humidity.
Titebond III wood glue has an open assembly time of 8-10 minutes and a total assembly time of 20-25 minutes at 70°F and 50% relative humidity.
11:15 not only man made, now WoMan Made
I discovered u abt 1-2 weeks ago and out of all my years watching UA-cam I’ve never ever found a UA-camr as good and as entertaining as u
You're genuinely underrated. In a world filled with Jake Paul's and adam22s you're definitely a youtuber more people should watch
*using playing cards in a woodworking project also good job
please do more things i love this channel :)
Yes I agree 👍
“I could give it to my cousin Bobby cause…obviously”
🥷
😂😂😂😂😂
Oh my, from team edge to this, you are truly amazing, always being the best role model and your everchanging model is super fun for all ages. Love your personality!
I love how you reference that wise man Paul at the end... indeed, wise he was! Great video and phenomenal gift!
I don’t follow any other craftsman channel on UA-cam and never watch any content like this, yet every time you post a video I find myself putting everything else aside and giving it my undivided attention.
This channel is great, 10/10
Totally agree
46:10 if you have a cat don’t let it get there
Is this because cat poop
WAIT! I followed your channel after being recommended a few videos, becuase I share your passion for creations and christian world view.... You did look familiar but I could not figure out why.... The moment it hit me that your brother is the one and only Matthias, I could not stop smiling! I`ve followed him and his journey through his many channels over the years and now I get to follow you! oh my this was such a nice and pleasant suprise! refreshing and genuinely excited to be here. God Bless you my friend!
From the first video of him i saw I instantly thought they looked really similiar, know I know why
It just clicked for me too even though I've been watching a while! Haha
What is Matthias's channel?
@@VivaaLaaLyssaa @Dope
Imagine playing tick-tack-toe using the sand on the desk, it would be sooo fun ❤😊
If it's any consolation, I think that massive zen garden definitely made several people's day
This is the second video of yours I’ve seen and I really love how much perseverance you show throughout the hardships you run into.
Really inspires a klutz like myself to get into woodworking/making stuff when I get to a place where I have the funds and space to set up a proper workshop!
Finally found a Chanel where I can just watch it with out skipping or get bored I love this
You put so much work into these videos it’s amazing to see. Can’t wait for the next!
BRO. I thank the youtube gods for bringing Fred back into my life!
Hey Joey, I first started watching you back in the old team edge days, it sucked when team edge ended, but I'm glad to see you thriving on your own. It has been a pleasure watching you guys go from only a few thousand subscribers to millions and starting multiple side projects and ultimately starting your own channel seperate from team edge. Excited to see what more is to come, much love.
I love how genuine your vids are and how you do not shy away from showing “failures” and such…it makes the vids seem more…dare I say, man made.
Hey Joey! I love watching your videos. I’ve been watching you since Team Edge was only you Bryan and Matt in the backyard. I’m really excited to watch this channel grow and I’m excited to learn new things about woodworking because that’s always been a passion of mine. Good luck man! Here’s to a hopeful million subscribers. Glad to be able to say I’m one of the first hundred
Man Made this is for you
You really deserve more than 924K subscribers
You work really hard too
And that's why
Old fan of the Team Edge channel here. Moved on to watch other CCs. Genuinely clicked on this, thinking that this is just some random youtuber to only have a complete minute roll by once I recognized the goofy smile. Ah Joey, you are a sight for sore eyes!😌
I would love more of Brian in the videos. Maybe a brother's build
