I've been a fan of Buffy basically as long as you've had this channel - found your Buffy guide when you were covering season 2, soon after I finished watching both Buffy and Angel. TPN has been an amazing source of community for me, especially 6+ years ago when I didn't have anyone or anywhere to share my love of the show. I just wanted to comment on what the Buffy series means to me! I discovered Buffy at the lowest point of my life and at a moment when I was just starting to become myself. Nothing means to me what Buffy means to me. I was very hesitant to watch any Buffy commentary because of how protective of the show I was - I didn't want to watch any critique of Buffy that didn't come from a place of loving the show in the same way I did. But after being recommended your videos so many times I finally cracked and watched the Restless video (still one of my favorites - can't believe no one brought it up!). After that I was hooked. Your videos captured how I felt about Buffy that mix of endearment and critique that I wanted from a show that was so precious to me. I must have watched all your videos in several weeks (this was only a few years ago). They truly deepened my love and appreciation for the show! And they have become my comfort watch that I put on whenever I'm feeling low and need something to give me a profound sense of calm. At this point I've watched the TPN Buffy guide more than I have the actual episodes themselves! Your videos also introduced me to existentialism which has completed changed my life. I've always been enamored with philosophy but discovering existentialism and Sartre gave me a love for a new side of it - to the point that I am now taking an existentialism class at college (and my interest in this class partially influenced my decision to come to this school) and am seriously considering becoming a philosophy major! There is something so poetic to me that I started this class weeks after the TPN 10 year anniversary, which introduced me to the concept. I still think the Lie to Me analysis is one of the most elegant explanations of existentialist philosophy to exist. Thank you and happy 10 years!

I honestly can't remember the first video I watched, but I subscribed to the channel in Oct. 2016 and became a Patreon in 2018(then got a mortgage in 2023, so not able to Patreon as much as I would like to). These videos have set the bar for my expectations of quality and depth in reviews of some of my most loved series. Thank you Ian for the channel. Looking forward to the next 10 years.

You truly have deepened my love of the Buffyverse (and Firefly) in a way that made it feel new and fresh. Having studied literature and philosophy extensively, your analyses have my jaw on the floor. I love you, you make me better, stronger and you make me feel less alone. When I need to reignite my passion, when I need to breathe, when I'm feeling scared, I watch your videos, start the playlists over and find my strength to go and get the rock. No matter what the timeline, I'm here for all of it my friend. Also, I started listening to Still Pretty/Dead at some point around 2020 so when I realized two of my favourite Buffy content creators WERE VERY MUCH A THING, it made me cheese harder than the Cheese Man.

Idr exactly how I found this channel but ik I had at the time watched some Buffy vids on yt and the algorithm gods shined upon me and put u on my fyp. U were a couple seasons into the Buffy guid already but I ate that shit up. I had already bought and read most of the books u referred to in them but to hear someone else’s interpretations and self reflection through them was new and I loved it. As the years go on I have continued to watch other reviewers for Buffy and other ips and enjoy them immensely but u have become my golden standard. I even regularly recommend ur channel to people watching/reacting. Especially when it comes to understanding the s4 ending. Ur gags have even become a part of how I enjoy the show on rewatches now. John Ritter on the screen? ‘Come and knock on our door…’ forest? -offtone bugal blares- and so on. U Ian r forever a part of how I now enjoy Buffy and I couldn’t b happier for it💜 thank u for choosing to put the time and effort into sharing ur passions w us all

So I watch this mainly for The Body since my mom died but now since my own cancer diagnosis. It gives me strength.
