  • This tutorial shows how to reverse engineer a script to study the sun hours on your model. Again based on real location coordinates. Test the sun hours for a day, month or up to a year. This tool is ideal to get a better understanding of your planning area and helps in zoning plans, outdoor comfort, planting selection and more. Also learn how to change the output resolution to fit the size of your scheme.

    • @PhilippGalvanDesign
      @PhilippGalvanDesign  Рік тому

      You don't need to save the model in any specific format. You build you model in Rhino and when you are happy with it you link your model into a geometry container. You can find the containers for all kinds of objects in the grasshopper main library. First toolset from the left.
      I recommend to watch some general grasshopper tutorials before jumping into Ladybug.

    • @PhilippGalvanDesign

      I might do, but probably after the Ladybug series. I have only read through the description. In general i think it has the same functionality as the ladybug tools but is computed in the cloud. Meaning that the calculations are most likely faster. I think it's also geared towards more readymade workflows. And there are paid plans... It also needs a slightly different setup but i think with learning the Ladybug tools you will automatically know how to use pollination.

    Help! how can I fix my ladybug ! 0:47 there is a 3x3 table of green squares, but mine is different... the one on the right corner of the first row is red, whole second row is blue and third row is blue!

    • @PhilippGalvanDesign
      @PhilippGalvanDesign  3 роки тому

      hey Visatos, the 3x3 table appearing when you start GH are Quick access to previous grasshopper script files you worked on. Green means it was saved and found by Grasshopper. Red means the file was not found. (maybe was not saved or was moved or deleted) If there is no file name in the blue rectangle i guess they are just placeholders.
      The rectangles are not linked to the functionality of ladybug, you should be able to work without problem.
      I can only say, always save your work and scripts you are working on.
      Hope it makes sense.

    • @PhilippGalvanDesign
      @PhilippGalvanDesign  2 роки тому

      hi muyun - not 100 percent sure what the problem is. Are there any objects in the ladybug folders?
      if yes, make sure that you are in the correct display mode. or adjust your display mode to show colored meshes.
      Before you bake the result, did you see the colored mesh in the viewport?
      many questions - if you can't make it to work you can also send me an email with the GH definition and I can have a look.

    • @PhilippGalvanDesign
      @PhilippGalvanDesign  3 роки тому +1

      @Raquel Peña - after you baked the result the coloured mesh is inside your rhino file.
      The coloured mesh is not a material so can't render it with vray for example. However I normally use a nice display mode and the print function or the capture viewport command. Which is: "_ViewCaptureToFile'. Which I use most often for diagrams since you can control the resolution and file format. its perfect for print or web presentations.

    • @PhilippGalvanDesign
      @PhilippGalvanDesign  3 роки тому +1

      Hey Flavio, I guess you are working with the latest Ladybug version? Ladybug tools 1.1.0? Have you provided a time (hoys)?
      If the time is set to an hour were the sun hasn't risen for the specified location then it can't return a vector. Normally the time is set to 0. That would be midnight.
      Don't know if that is the problem you have with the script. I just tried it here and it works.

    • @Flavio_R

      @@PhilippGalvanDesign Hi Philipp, setting the hoys surely has moved something forward, the vectors can now be read, but still I cannot visualize the script correctly. Hi Philipp! Thanks for this video it is super helpful. Have you ever seen or run into the issue of the vector output from the Sun path tool not properly loading into the Direct Sun Hours tool? I am getting the error message that "Input parameter _vectors failed to collect data".
