This is funny, but it feels out of place for Thanos. Actually, I think it would fit a lot better for Darkseid. Darkseid is about petty evil and cruelty just to show his presence, while Thanos always has some kind of (generally awful) goal to what he does rather than 'just because'.

Like in a short story written by Jim Stralin, Thanos went out of his way to kill a near endangered species of plant just to upset the people who are trying to preserve the flowers. There was no strategic value for doing so nor does it further his insane campaign in wiping out live. He did that just to be a dick to a bunch of randos
