  • A look at some of the must-see moments of James Dutton in 1883.
    #ParamountPlus #1883
1883, a Yellowstone origin story, follows the Dutton family as they embark on a journey west through the Great Plains toward the last bastion of untamed America. From Academy Award nominee Taylor Sheridan, co-creator of Yellowstone, 1883 is a stark retelling of Western expansion, and an intense study of one family fleeing poverty to seek a better future in America’s promised land - Montana.

Right, it’s one of my favorite shows ever, Taylor Sheridan’s writing was so fucking good for this one, and the cast was great - plus it came out at a perfect time for me personally, I was heavy into Native American books/history, especially about the Comanche, and this show was absolutely perfect for me - I love pretty much everything Sheridan puts together, Bass Reeves was pretty good too, 1923 was a little slow but still awesome, I think it’s gonna pick up in season 2 when Spencer gets back to the ranch and goes Rip mode on Ser Bronn of the Blackwater and the rest of them hooligans coming for their ranch

They could have hired plenty of good actors and actresses to play the Dutton parents in this series, but I really believe that the real life chemistry between Tim and Faith gave their relationship in the show another later of realism. They just give off this aura of being real. This mini series was absolutely tremendous. I honestly wish more shows would do this. Maybe not 1 season and only 8 episodes, but just the idea of knowing where it's going and knowing how long it will take. The only thing worse than a good show ending too early is a good show that overstays it's welcome trying to squeeze ever dollar possible out of the franchise. Which I get it, that makes sense as a business model, but story wise, I wish more shows did what this one did 💯👏🏼

Eh. Although I loved 1883 and would’ve watched 10 seasons of it with a smile on my face…sometimes less is more. Better to be left wishing it never ended than wishing it would just end already. Kind of like Walking Dead 😂
