I was seriously touched by "On the Pulse of Morning," in that I decided to use it as a final term paper analysis, with each of the first three visual elements in the poem, on a poster I created and still have. I guess you could say, I stepped into the poem as well, in word and in art.

Great point about people losing the ability to communicate

It's Oct. 2019 and for the first time I'm seeing this wonderful interview with Maya Angelou. Hearing her has given me some inspiration to put pen to paper and finally begin the process of expressing myself. I really miss your indepth and intimate interviews Charlie Rose. For years I used to fantasize about coming on your show to talk about my book entitled "Yes Daddy! Coming Daddy!"...but "Life" happened. Still, I hope you're well and in good spirits. Thanks for sharing this...

Really enjoyed the Maya Angelou interview. I read "Wouldn't Take Nothing for My Journey Now" years ago and many of its lessons and stories have stayed with me. RIP Maya

I love both of these two exceptional people; Charlie Rose asks such thoughtful question of his guests.... and well, Maya Angelou is always an inspiration to hear... she knows so much about love and ALL of us being ONE.... she's my heroine.

The song she talks about also inspired another great black artist Nina Simone with the song "Sinnerman"

I'm revolted this man sat so close to this angel! But true to her teachings ... I forgive...
