I have listened each and every episode of Jam Cast and enjoyed all of them so much, but this one hit home extra hard.
Anis Cheurfa is the biggest motivation and reason I could ever start dreaming about tricking for a living. I used to watch Loopkicks DVD (2006) every night before going to sleep, over and over again.
Each old clip shown in this podcast I know far too well, having watched them countless times when I started my tricking journey. During the year I started tricking, he started to visit California for the first time. Moving away from his home country France at the age of 17 just to learn tricking in America was something unheard of. And so inspiring and fascinating for young me.
During my 15 years of tricking there has been two ultimate champions of tricking for me, who stayed at the top of their game untouchable for years after years: Anis and Guthrie. I grew up being the most fascinated with tricking during Anis era. He changed my whole life with his tricks and his life story.
Damn he even had the whole world tricking community in basketball shorts and after changing to Adidas pants trickers all around the world started to trick with those long three stripe pants. I remember going shopping during gatherings all around the world and suddenly everyone wanted long pants instead of basketball shorts. He created tricking fashion.
So happy I´ve got to meet him few times, trick together and even battle together. Truly honored that tricking had such a leader during my early years of training.
True legend whose impact in my life I will never forget.
Huge thank you to Travis Wong from Joining All Movement for creating the JAM CAST series and providing us with podcasts with so many of the old school legends I grew up watching. It is truly a gift and much appreciated by me and many others. Keep up the great work, you have my full support.

Story about Anis working hard: At that Flipmonk Gathering in Germany 2007 that you guys were briefly talking about, we all slept on the floor or on mats somewhere in that huge hall the gathering took place in... Obviously everyone was totally done after a long day of tricking.... I wake up at some point late at night - maybe 3 o'clock? - because I hear tricking noises. I look around the hall and I see Anis alone in the middle of the Springfloor still working on his tricks, doing standing 1080s and boxcutters, when everyone else was sleeping.
And yes, tricking was totally different. It was all about having a style...
    Good old days...

Yes the legend I have been waiting for this one like a whole bunch of people have been good stuff he will always be my biggest inspiration he still has the crown as far as I am concerned no one ever took it from him period. He just grew up life other opportunities man its good to hear this. I never Knew Anis was struggling like that growing up the back and forward paris Cali visa status and some of the stories behind some of his famous samplers etc. Man he went threw the fire and to hear his perspective of being the so called best tricker. I can see his point of how he looked at it just getting better and how he views today Trickers. I am old school tricker I grew up on him so this is candy for me. I guess we all have a story to tell its called life this is Anis story you think you no but you have no idea! Good stuff Travis keep them coming man
