*Important!* Trends in graphic design should not be applied to every design, you should evaluate the brief and the project, and see if a trend fits or doesn’t. Tomorrow I have a new ‘before and after’ video to upload on the channel, so tune in if you want to continue that series :)
Been using these styles and didn’t think they would be a trend sooner. Good thing to see. I am about to go back to very old days in graphics but with modern perspective.
The only way that this advice would be more useful is if there were links to tutorials or developers who are good at creating/implementing these designs. As a React/React-Native developer I think it would be fascinating.
Lol, what you mean bro? Apply fonts in code is easy, if you know how to use editing tools, you can prototype all the design and then just apply it on code (html+css, react/react native, flutter, vue, angular and so on)
For some reason, new graphic design styles or trends never appeal to me in the beginning. I always wonder "How is this supposed to be the future of design when it looks terrible?" Fast forward a couple of months, and there I am obsessing over that same style. This process is about to repeat itself
What’s your opinion in using these trends in logos? Logos I believe should be long-standing or an investment, so what if you have accidentally, or if you want to intentionally include for instance the outline to text in a logo? Or should this be avoided and only be used in the general UI And layout that can be changed and can go with the flow of fashion trends? By the way I would like to add that I have read your pinned comment that you had marked as important. It’s just the fact that if you’ve already included it should you change it, or should you leave it as it is if it suits the brand
Yeah I've said before on this channel, quite a few times actually, that trends should have no place in logo design. A logo needs to be memorable and able to stand the test of time.
@@SatoriGraphics Yes I get what you mean, it’s just that I came up with a brand already, a couple of years ago, haven’t used it yet, but one of the trends within the font is part of the brand. It was not intentionally added because it was a trend. What would you do? Would you change it? Or as it was done before the trend arose leave it?

Hi! I noticed that the letter spacing is strange in some of your texts (such as 2:28 'Playful', 3:38 'Outlined' and 3:50 ''Satori'). Do you know what caused this?
I think the second typography trend might not work. Everyone knows about the 'VOGUE' magazine thus it's easier for them to hide that text. Whereas if we use this bold hidden text on a website which people are not aware about, it might get difficult for them to understand at first what the text says. Just a thought, what do you think ?
Has nothing to do with the video what I wonder about is some designers changing the format of what is a standard. I'm thinking of the trend of using decimals/periods'dots in phone numbers. Standard format in North America has been 555-555-5555 now I am increasingly seeing 555.555.5555. To me it is not trendy and can be confusing. Are you giving a website address? I've heard tourist asking if that is the phone number.
Thanks so much for such informative video. I'm your big fan. I'm polishing many skills with you. I need your help. How do I get 2500px x 2500px image in 1mb file size. I'm using latest Ai n Ps
Honestly, I think designers are trying to hard to be cool, different. Most of these designs give me a headache. I much prefer minimalist design. However, if it works it works.
I’m curious why you don’t do any kerning to the typography in your video, or use typefaces that are properly spaced and kerned. It brings your credibility and insight on typography into question. Also, might your typography trends predictions have come true because they are quite generic, and you will always find plenty of examples to support the idea of a trend? I mean, in what year DIDN’t we see outlined texts? Is it really a trend? And how did you evaluate whether something is a trend, or will be? If you are researching the various design blogs you follow to make that evaluation, then how do you avoid bias, where you are just evaluating the trends seen on the particular pages you look at, at that particular time?
@@SatoriGraphics But you don’t do any kerning in your latest videos either. I just had a look at your ‘FREE Fonts For Typography Trends’ video, where you mention that not many designers talk about the typeface Argentum. Do you know why? Because it lacks overshoots on all the rounded glyphs in the typeface, making them look optically too small compared to squared glyphs. This is one of those common amateur type design mistakes. And that’s what you are recommending to others. I applaud what you do, popularizing graphic design and helping out fellow designers. But I do think you need to brush up on your typographic knowledge.
Although I've been an admirer of your video's for a while I can't help to point out that the font you are using for your titles and animated type is truly horribly kerned. You see it in every slide when there is an A or a Y which is undermining you as the expert that you are. Just look at a still for ANIMATED TYPE. Is it by chance you are using free fonts for this? Because it would make your case and video's so much stronger if you are actually paying for type that you use for creating video's on typography. Not trying to break your b*lls on these minor details but I think it feeds into a bigger discussion about graphic design, typography and making money doing so.
Thank you but those typography styles are not going to be a well trendy for 2022 as they already be a trend in the past years. They are quite off and over-used everywhere.

BIG FAN of the stretch typography! It was all the rage in my Industrial Design schooling back in late 90’s
Your videos are gold standard.
Thank you man!
My pleasure!
Love your videos! Super on the point and filled with info! Going to follow these trends! Thank you so so much!!
Happy to help I suggest you check out my recent video on how to use trends 👍
Thank you Satori, always sharing super pro information ✨✨✨✨
No probs Carolina 👍
your video is right , I started seeing commercial videos wih the examples you posted in this video.
yeah lol, it's going to get bigger in early 2022 I think
Thank you Satori!
My pleasure!
YESSS!!!! Love this series.
Another enlightening vid from the goat 💪🏼

Awesome job, stunning presentation! Keep up the good work. Big time thanks.
Where can I find VLAENELLA BOLD?
How do you edit videos like this? 😭😌😭... Editing+Design, ughhhh.. Perfect!
By sometimes hiring editors and steering them in the right way
Worked, thx
Great to hear
Always well done. Always insightful. Enjoy your channel + posts.
Can you make a video about colors that go well together? I'll be thankfull :)

No worries man
May we please have a tutorial on animated typography
Another great and knowledge full video thanks buddy;)
Great video. I am gonna watch it again at home and make notes :)
Glad it was helpful!
Okay. It's the outro song for me.
And even the custom deathmetal style typography

Hello 👋,thank you so much for this video
no problem, and welcome :)
I have been using stretched text for months, I didn’t know it was a new thing
it's not necessarily new, but the huge amounts of designers using it is new
Hola Satori, what typeface do you recommend for a technical book? Thanks a lot
Something no nonsense and very legible. Aileron would be pretty good as it comes in a lot of weights for headings as well as the body text
Hi, is that animated typography is only for the website?
Man how’d you do the animations in the video I’m so jealous from that🤔😱😱
Thanks for the feedback my man

What is the effect on 3:00 called, I wanna include that on my website?
There is always some new knowledge in your video.
This is great! Thanks!! Did you mean to leave the "l" out of "bow" at :43?
Thanks:)

where can i find a background like this 2:40

There is a typo at 0:46. Missing the 'l' in 'blow up'.
Yup

did u got it ?

hey but these animations and transitions you do with after effects

Hi Satori, what font is the word 2022 written in at 3:49?
Great vid as usual, thanks!
I can't remember sorry but I think it's Neutro
3:13 does anyone knows the designer of that website ?
Outlined text looks like the bad typography in early desktop publishing.
1:12 who kerned that Y?

Everything old is new again. Anti design and outline type were hallmarks of the mid 90's.
within these, i only look fwd to animated one coz seems there’s more variety there. im alrd sick of the rest lol too overused
those trends blow up this year whats new! i honestly think they’ll die down in 2022 not blow up
how can I take you seriously as a typographic with that horrendous kerning at 1:12?
