waterboarding doesn't kill anyone! it gets information from them. how do you expect to get answers from a terrorist? just ask them questions? and the only time you should KILL an unborn child is if it's from rape, incest, or if the child poses a risk to the mother. pouring water on a terrorists head to get information from them is WAY different than KILLING an unborn child simply cuz the mother doesn't want it.

Jesse Ventura makes more sense than most politicians. I don't agree with everything he says, but he is able to use rational statements to support whatever he says. A breath of fresh air.
I just do not understand why anyone in America would support torture, we prosecuted Nazi in WWII because we were so disgusted by their torture tactics and now we are the same.

Elizabeth Hasselbeck got OWNED by the way. I don't even like Jesse Ventura but I have to give credit where credit is due. He made some great points. Especially at the end, "You give me one hour to water board Dick Cheney and i'll have him confessing to the Sharon Tate murder." It's so true. People will say ANYTHING to make the torture stop. Water boarding makes a person's survival instinct kick in. It is a very frightening and downright agonizing experience. You'll talk after the first minute.

The CIA was more effective during the Cold War because they used other means of coercion instead of torture like the KGB. Torture is a primitive form of information gathering.

This is the first time I've heard Jesse Ventura speak about anything. I was aware of him, but I don't live in his state. I'm impressed. A principled and well-spoken man.

Waterboarding is torture. My boss, former navy seal, went through sere training. Because of waterboarding he can't lay in a dentist chair to have a simple cleaning.
I'm a centralist, both sides are full of manure, yet they still argue their point....water boarding is nothing compared to what they've done to captured Americans, Christians and their women over in the middle east and for that matter what some are doing to their own family members in our country....the oxymoron, political correctness, is slowly killing this country among other things....
Ventura was never a SEAL,as much as he might try to claim to be. As for Hasslebeck, at no time was she really allowed to make an argument, because Ventura just continually yelled over her.
Jesse technically wasn't a seal. He was part of the underwater demolition team (UDT) which isn't part of the SEALS.

@pmack169 I would say yes. I personally think we retrieved info that eventually lead to the courier as far back as 2005. One thing to remember is this intell is never retrieved over night and neither is verifying and confirming. It's a process that involves many tactics (not just water boarding) to gather intelligence.
I could never be a guest on The View. I do not have the patience to deal with Elizabeth's blatent ignorance.
I now love and admire Jesse Ventura! And I don't, for the life of me, understand why The View has kept Elisabeth Hasslebeck this long. Look torture is illegal it is considered cruel and unusual punishment outlawed by our Eight Amendment of our Constitution. Hasselbeck seems to believe that because it was okayed by the officials that it is legal? Dearie laws are not determined by officers in the military, they are not, they are made by the congress? So if someone ordered these suspects to be tortured in any way it was an unlawful act and they should have been prosecuted. Hasselbeck's statement lacks of logic.

I would love to see Ventura as president. Some people say that he is out of the question because he has his conspiracy theories and they seem weird. But when you look at those, he just demands more evidence and it seems behind his show is somehow a critique of politics to hide everything to the public. I believe that he is able to change his mind if more evidence comes in and i believe that his demand for more evidence is absolutely right in some of his claims .. If Ventura was president, may be politics would be more transparent. The most security could be established in the world if everything was open source. The most security in operating systems is when the source is open to everyone. This is shown again and again.
