The Deep Six is an exceptionally versatile bag. It is great as both a waterproof backpack, and a deck bag, but with some limitations that I’m going to cover in this video.
First thing to note is that it’s huge! The 30L capacity can fit a LOT of gear.
The roll top on the main section keeps water out. Note that works better with more gear in it.
The backpack straps are surprisingly good - very soft and adjustable.
The deck connections give you 4 connection points for your kayak or SUP.
The Deep Six is great as a deck bag, but note that the front zipper section is water resistant, not waterproof. It has a quality water-resistant zipper, but it's still just a zipper. It will keep out the rain and splashes, but if you capsize and the bag is submerged, water will go in that little front section. If you have expensive small items you want easy access to and you’re worried about capsizing, consider the Quick Draw deck bag. It is completely water proof with easy access to gear.
