The 90’s was crazy. 90’s gang banging is on another level.
Blame the liberal, capitalism, colonizer
I don't gangbang or shoot at bangbang. Relentless lyrics is the dope I slang.
@@Moodboard39 no
Facts but gangs today is just as crazy if not worse
I used to live in S.F. at that time when there was like a warzone around 19th st. where the Nortenyos , Sudenyos and MS-13 would battle it out and ya def had to keep an eye and ear out for those stray bullets.
It's sad that people are losing their life over something stupid this gang banging needs to stop
I just looked it up. 10,470 black men get killed vs 7704 white men. That’s a lot even one is to many. I am with a black man and he has a son from his marriage and I told him we will never go to the USA. I don’t know what I would do if he or my step son got arrested or hurt or killed. We r in Canada, even the cops there seem to have something against black men esp . So I won’t take a chance . We have gone to many countries France, Italy the uk Scotland and Nigeria where there ancestors r from and I have never felt scared for them or for me,
But Derrick wasn't a gang member. He was a good guy.
I don’t think that will ever happen
It will stop when the system stop. I’m not go say anymore.✊🏿☀️🌟🛸🔥💯
As long as we in hell it won't stop
Walking away doesnt make you a coward. Gangbangin doesnt guarantee a 401k or a paycheck. Sad.
Thanks for sharing. I did not know he was killed. He had a chance to leave that life behind him.
Once he found a little success, he should have left that lifestyle behind. He also had a young child to live for, I believe.
Damn really?? I remember reading it in a Source magazine back in the 90s. Idk If you know about the other tragedy, but the other actor who shot Ricky with the shotgun, was found dead in his cell in the 2000s. His cellmate, a lunatic who practiced cannibalism, was his murderer. His story is much more strange because he was brought up in a middle class setting. After his success in the movie, he wanted to gangbang and eventually got life behind 2 murders. It's sad because John Singleton (RIP) gave all those guys chances in BITH where they were fresh off the block without any real acting experience. Lloyd Avery was his name I believed
@@draines9237 Yes Lloyd Avery. He was killed by Satanist Kevin Roby who would be convicted of the murder. I would think Avery's family would have had a lawsuit due to him getting killed in prison. His family did condemn the prison for them being placed together in a cell due to such differing beliefs.
I remember seeing it on one of those list that were big like 10 ago years about murdered celebs. I remember being shocked that kid from Mr Cooper was killed too.
He's been deceased going on 30yrs
Rest in peace Dedrick gobert I watch Boyz in the Hood and poetic justice a thousand times I love it
He was in higher learning too
There were a lot of Asian gangs back in the mid-late 90’s, especially in the westcoast. They were just as ruthless if not more than other gangs.
In Boston they are no joke. Asian gangs do not play. They have fire power and Vest. They will get down in a second.
Surprised they didn’t rise up against Asian hate
LA ain't no joke. You need to wear a vest and carry a gun with you when walking those streets.
ye i live in boston too@@lordoffaiyum9727
@@KrishnaSingh-ow1ie Facts 💯.
Such a young man. Makes me so very very sad
There’s about 3 men of this cast of Boyz in the hood movie that was killed within a few years of this movie.
Yeah, the big guy that gave Ricky's football back in the movie was tragically killed in a car crash shortly after the movie was released 😢
True story, one died in a crash, one died in jail, and this one at a drag race
@@ladynicole9151Yep Lexie Bigham his character's name was Mad Dog and he also played Bear in the movie South Central
I think the guy who shot Ricky was shot many years later. Its sad, who knows where these actors could ended playing other roles in films
They had to sacrifice in 3’s for the initial release of the movie. It’s apart of Hollyweird bro.
Yeah I remembered seeing Dedrick Gobert in Boyz N the Hood (one of my favorite movies) and Higher Learning. I was watching Higher Learning with the commentary on and John Singleton said that Higher Learning was Gobert's last film. Very tragic.
Never understood this gang thing doubt I ever will. Thanks for sharing love from West Yorkshire UK 🇬🇧 ❤️ 💙
Same here!

It's embedded in the hood over here in America. There's alot of positive ppl that come from the hood but the media (which is controlled by ppl that dnt look like the ppl in the hood) only push gangsta image on media (TV, social media, etc) so it because the only thing these kids can claim as a identity in their eyes. That or being good at sports, rapping and more recently being a streamer and stuff. When you in the hood you dnt see anyone from where you are owning stores, having high paying jobs etc. So it makes you believe there's no hope.
@@Tuelz... thats not true if you are like a Gang leader you be surprised what they own for Stores and high paying jobs for the average foot solider you gotta start from the bottom and work your way up you also got to have connections like real life with people that have 9 to 5s the average member doesnt reach that level of success but It can be done the trick is not to get caught tho but alot of Folks are searching for Brotherhood like how Folks join the Army or Police alot of these guys come from Broken homes so they look for that you know One Parent is raising type of deal
@@DJ-iu5bb maybe some leaders make it but they disown their gang past so you wouldnt really know. Im close to 30 but i lived in the hood most my life (only moved out 6 months ago) the only ppl i knew of that had motion where i lived was rappers ngl. It made it seem like if you couldnt rap you have no chance. Also the rappers are talking about doing street stuff so as a kid you think there no other way even tho you realize 99% of them never did anything. Like you said its because one parent homes you dnt have another male telling you another path. Im not hood in anyway but i never met my dad either. I dnt even know how he looks. I just thought it was normal cus all the kids was the same
Thank you for doing this Lamont. I remember I emailed you some time last year about doing this video. I’m glad you managed to do it in the end. It’s the video I wanted to see and you did it. Thank you millions.
Who don't remember dookey 🛑 this a classic movie

😢 so sad thanks for the story and video!!
Thank you for this video Lamont.
Glad to see you back in LA!
I watched it several times at the movies. Great video Lamont.
The title alone is crazy. Such a sad way to go.
@stardustbae5956
All cultures got their own thug killers. In my opinion white gangs are the most brutal and most discrete. They don’t like making noise but do some gruesome shit to their oops
Thank u for sharing this king 👑
Wow! I didn’t know this bro! Thanks for sharing this info. This is so sad and also a great lesson you pointed out on avoiding violence. 👍🏽
Dam! I didn't know he was dead either. Thank you for sharing🤗
I love your videos, I always learn something new. God bless you Lamont!! Stay safe ❤🙏🏾 RIP Dedrick Gobert
Thank you for cleaning his grave stone.
And sharing his story
That’s absolutely insane he was killed by Asian blood.
Other races joining black gangs to kill other black people🤦🏾♂️
Yea Asian gangs don’t hold bacc on killing they’ll do anybody
People under estimate them they go harder then your average gangs don't matter what nationally you are it matters how your demeanor is
his satanist cellmate killed him
Asian blood shouldn’t be a thing, there’s no Asian gangs that a black person can join
Great video. So sad- 2 people gone and the one that survives has her life changed forever. RIP
Unfortunately actions and choices have consequences
Rest In Peace Dedrick Gobert
Just a correction. His name was actually Dedrick Gobert. Not Derek.
I was arrested with him in May-ish of 1994. We were in a holding tank at 77th Police Department on Broadway. We had each gotten arrested for having a .380 in our cars. He was a real nice and humble guy. But who isn’t humble before you get shipped to L.A. County Jail. He was under 18 when he started filming Boyz N The Hood. I heard about his death in early 1995. It wasn’t even on the news. You can always count on the word on the street. God bless you all.
That's crazy thanks for posting this video 🤔
Thanks for telling his story. And yes please do Lloyd Avery, his story and how he died was really shocking.
Dedrick was six days away from his 23rd birthday. 🤦🏾♂️
Thank you Lamont for sharing you are wonderful. I didn’t know he passed away.
The Lloyd Avery murder is pretty wild, Looking forward to your video on that.
Super wild! Very horrific! 😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢
It's so wicked and he was a sacrifice
Lloyd Avery was a punk buster who actually thought he was a gangster in real life. Straight poseur.
@17XWorldChampionLALakers my cousin said she knew him. They live off of Coluseum and LaBrea. I think yall call that area the Jungles. They grew up around there. She said he was crazy.

How sad how people lose their lives when it could easily be avoided. Too sad!😢
Wow, a promising acting career, a wealthy life, a home, and family, could have been had with one simple word…” sorry”.
Thanks for the video!👍
I loved Boyz N the Hood. It had a great message. I’m familiar with this story, but didn’t know just how young he was when he died.

Yeah, a member of the Asian Boyz gang smoked him.
Thank you for sharing this video,I knew he passed away but didn’t know anyone else was killed and hurt or even what happened to the person responsible for everything.
So sad may he continue to RIP 🙏 😢. I heard about that but didn't know it was 6 days before his 23rd birthday.
Thank you for showcasing my dear friends grave 💕 D was my baby❤ such a great person and amazing actor a wonderful new father a wonderful cousin and an amazing son to his mom Caroline💓 he is missed so very much. He was about to blow up in his career! This shit was so tragic and we still can't believe it! We just had a 90s party a few months ago for his cousin Shontelles birthday and his cousin Am dressed up like him from Boyz in The Hood . We grew up in the hood and for him to get murdered like that just hurts to this day! The trial was horrific
I loved that movie growing up ❤ such a sad one. So heartbreaking to hear his story 😢
Great video. Some of those guys are dead from the movie. I think a lot of actors who play bad guys have the same or similar demise as some roles they may play a lot of times, especially the tough guy roles, but again, great video🎉🎉 👍
A lot of them were real members that’s why
Nice video as usual my man
very interesting videos, keep the good work legend. I didnt know he had passed away even before I was born.
Why would an actor like him be participating in activity like that. It makes no sense. It's the crowd and influence. Very, very sad.
Why would Tupac be punching a gang member in a casino?
"You're the sum of the people you spend the most time with"
I look up to you I saw your first videos where you were working at Popeyes for minimum and to see what you've done and how you find your way it's amazing
WHAT THE HELL? Lamont has another channel? 😂 I heard the voice and was like is that my bro? Hahaha… also, I’ve seen this movie so many times… growing up in La county this was the way of life…. I had no clue this guy died though.
Oh wow one of my old time favorites. I did not know he passed. How sad 😢 Rest in Peace to him 🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽 too young.
That dude that killed him was saved in 2019 from the death penalty! 😳
Crazy liberals
But he will never be at peace

R.I.P. Dedrick Gobert, Thanks for the video i just watched Boyz n the Hood last weeK on HBO. Didn't know
theres a 16 year old actress called Tara CorreaMcMullen who did a Martin Lawrence movie & episodes of a TV show. She was in the gang life also who was murdered as well. This was back in 2007
That's in Inglewood. I show people the spot quite often while they visit.
I tried to get your attention when you were here in Ohio about some things that went on in my area, including a few murders, one of them unsolved for nearly 20 years one of the other involved. A father brutally torturing his children and even killing one. There were a few other things around my area that I thought might have interest you, but you never got back with me lol if you’re ever up in the Ohio area, drop me a line. Keep up the good work, enjoying what you’re doing very much

ever since dahmer iv had a close eye on Ohio. Ohio is a dirty and very bad state always has been . Its like something in the water you know what i mean . Black white latino it doesnt matter they . Ohio is not a place i would raise a family or even visit. Pedophiles in full effect there in that state too.
It's a lot going on everywhere. If he just wanted stories he could go to Chicago, New York, LA or even Florida. He would have nonstop content.
Thanks for a top video ,can you do one on the Rock Steddy Crew

Fun fact and a true story: The last time I saw a UA-camr do a video on this actor and how he died on UA-cam, two people in the comment section got to talking and found out that they are cousins!

I knew he was killed, but thanks for the excellent coverage and respectful handling f his grave wiping the dust off. The first actor you featured who killed Dough Boys brother in the movie, also got shot to death in LA behind gang stuff. Talk about art imitating life, such tragic and ironic developments to a movie that was all about preventing gang culture and street violence.
Some of them was in real gangs they were picked out for the roles
No he wasn't. He was murdered in prison by his cellmate. Lloyd Avery is his name.
So sad for all involved.

Good story and a nice twist to show us his grave and you being very respectful about it and even cleaning the grave off. Hope his family doesn't mind you doing that. RIP
You hope his family isn't upset that a complete stranger showed more respect for his grave than they do? Oh, okay. 😅
