People need to understand that A Tool-Assisted Speedrun (TAS) is a method used in video gaming to showcase the complete mastery of a game by recording the fastest possible completion time. Unlike traditional speedruns where a player directly interacts with the game in real-time, a TAS uses software to programmatically control the game. This allows the player, or "runner," to meticulously plan and execute perfect movements, strategies, and inputs frame by frame. By manipulating the game in ways that would be nearly impossible for humans in a normal playing condition, TAS can highlight theoretical limits of how quickly a game can be completed, often exploiting glitches and other tricks to optimize the playthrough to an extreme level.

Yeah, the dodges are extremely precise, you have to weave between the flames in that wall multiple times, but it wasn't even the hardest, the ring attack was way harder. If you go frame by frame you can see all the micro-management I do.
@madeformario let's see if you are good enough. I observed your micro-whatever, then I did some math. @@DoubleEntertain Aww look who doesn't know what a tool-assisted superplay is. I'm gonna have to make a video on this eventually because too many of you seem to be caught up on this being played in real-time, but it's not, which is why this is a TAS, using tools that allow me to basically program what my inputs are, always start with a preset RNG seed, and be able to do error correction on my movement for each frame with savestates and moving the game frame by frame. It's more of an artform, showing what, under the right conditions, the game allows a hypothetically perfect player could do.
@@DoubleEntertain A Tool-Assisted Speedrun (TAS) is a method of playing through a video game as quickly as possible by using software to meticulously control the game. This allows the player, or "speedrunner," to execute actions with frame-by-frame precision, which is much more accurate than what can be achieved by human hands alone. By manipulating the game's inputs in this super precise way, the speedrunner can perform complex maneuvers, exploit glitches, and achieve optimal paths that would be nearly impossible otherwise. which is basically what is being done here lol
It's very common practice to make hitboxes smaller than the sprites for leniency, and here in some places the movement of bullets line up in a way that the hitbox of the soul can be on one side of the bullet's hitbox on one frame, and completely on the other side on the next frame, I only abused this on the ring attacks. There's no raycast collision detection in this game so it's "easy" to phase through bullets. Also note this is a TAS, not real-time gameplay, it just allows me to define what inputs to hit on each frame, and playing that back to demonstrate what perfect gameplay would look like. It's a little more complicated and there's tools that basically makes this process less sisyphean, but you can think about it this way for simplicity.
