Our local animal shelter actually asks for old (clean) socks. We fill them with cat nip, tie them off, and the cats use them as toys 😊
Yes I came here after thinking about the sock situation all day to see if anyone suggested donating the socks as pet toys or for puppies to chew and destroy
That's such a great idea! Because with places like Goodwill, they'll have to trash them. They can't sell anything with stains, or mismatched, or worn-out, or busted up, etc.
Donation shops end up throwing out or selling off (to textile resellers) something like 90% of clothing donations because of this. So it's great to know there are places stuff like this might be useful.

As an adultier adult, I feel it's my duty to tell you that your salt cellar is perfectly fine to use as salt has antibacterial properties! So Salt Bae away, my dear! ❤
it took my husband months to get used to it when I switched us to this.. I think he still doesn't really believe me either, lol
I think the garlic holder one not gonna work. It's even have a lid which is gonna make garlic rotten.
@@acupcake90 it has airholes down the side which do more or less the same thing as an open top but without the dust.
I get the antibacterial thing but you still end up eating dust. There is always dust and stuff in the air which settle (hence needing to do the dusting) and if there is no lid to the salt cellar surely you get dust with your salt. Personally I would get 1 of the ones with a lid.

After spending my child and teenage years sorting all the socks for my family (which would take a couple hours, since I was the only that did it) now I dont care and my motto is 'Life's too short for matching socks'. My socks almost never match. Except for style/length. So only long socks together, arch supports together, and so on.
That's what I say about my kids' socks 🤣 90% of the time, their socks NEVER match

A random tip for not losing your socks in the laundry - get one of those delicates bags and put all the socks in there!
Or before throwing them into the wash basket, fold them back into a pair. I'm cheap.
Hi Deli! I have the same salt cellar! For hygienic purposes, I bought a small white matching spoon that sits in the salt cellar. It's really handy!
We have a salt pig too! We keep ours in the cupboard but so long as you wash your hands before cooking (obviously!) the salt should stay hygienic. You can also use them with a spoon if James is super concerned about it!

What I love about the vlogs, is the real life aspect of it 😄 I have also always been hording toilet paper. Not for any good reason, just so that I know I always have more somewhere 😂
I feel your pain with socks like I swear when I go to sleep someone comes and takes half of my socks😂

H&M take old socks... they take any old clothes, just bring it in a bag and deposit it in their big clothes bins and you get a discount for your next purchase. The stuff that’s good enough to be resold they give to charities, things that can be repurposed (like a tshirt into a bag type of thing) they take to a place that does that and everything that isn’t good enough to be reused or has holes in it or is underwear etc gets sterilised and shredded to be made into insulation... they’ll literally take any old clothes and give them a new life, so if no one takes your socks take them to H&M.
Wait, folding your socks like that isn’t a common thing? Lol thats how my mom taught me as a wee young child lol

I feel you Deli. I have a husky, but even if he isn't shedding theres still hair everywhere. And my family wears a ton of black. We didnt think about that when we got him ...
Same with my golden retriever, we all wear so much black and she sheds constantly
Had a dog who shedded as well, best advice for hair on all soft surfaces, damp hands (or dish washing gloves) and wipe the couch with open palm. So much hair comes up! (also works well on carpeted stairs and other hard to clean bits)
That thingy (however you name it, I'm not fluent in English) for salt is totally normal here in Europe, if you are afraid you can always use spoon, instead of hands

Definitely. Some do have a lid and a spoon to go with it, a lot like for sugar containers in teasets. Usually it's meant to store coarse salt though, not the table one
We call it a salt pig, it stops the salt from clumping together
I love the vlog! For topics, an apartment tour would be nice, yeah! Honestly I just like seeing your daily chores, routines, random activities you do throughout the day (just like this one!). It actually inspires me to be more mindful and interested in my own daily activities and chores after watching. :)
I love Salt and Pepper stuff! They are always so pretty! My dad used to have these little pots, and I wish I could take them when I moved out!
Love the vlogs Deli 💝 Bowser is such a character! He looks like he really enjoys a good brush and he was positively blissful at a good petting sesh. Loved that video where James got that spot that made his leg twitch. That’s always the best for a pupper. But, I absolutely lost it at the music & pixelated kiss 💋. So good! 😄 This reminded me that I really need to get a whole new set of socks, too. Probably my kiddos, as well. The sock gnomes are definitely hard at work here & our sets are missing matches for tons. I think most of mine that are left, shrunk, too, & are uncomfortable. Hope you’re having a lovely time, whatever time it is there in future land. 😁
When I renovated my bathroom I designed the drawers underneath my bathroom sink, which is right next to the toilet, to have a side door that fits 12 toilet paper rolls, and just above it there’s a sunken in space for the tp holder and a box of pads and tampons. It’s beautiful. I love seeing other people understand the tp hoarding.
I only buy the purposely mismatched socks for
this reason 😂

I have a socks "pillow", it's essentially a bag I made out of fabric where I put all my socks without a pair and once in a while I go check if I find the pairs, I usually find most of them. The problem is that sometimes socks are washed seperately (also make sure you have a meshed bag to put them on while they're in the washing machine, because the machine itsef can eat your socks)
The part of me who wants to be eco friendly died a little inside, but tossing out all of my mismatched ankle length socks to get matching ones has made my laundry days so much easier! I still have some mismatched long ones because i love to get these with fun patterns. I used most of the old ankle socks for dusting or cleaning my bike before completely tossing them though :)
Love deli chatting about bowser and chows in general. I also have a chow and people need to be aware they are a lot of work before getting one cause it's cute. Currently in the process of rehoming a female chow to our chow family as shes not what the family kinda had on mind when they got a tiny teddy bear

I know some people (myself included) use old socks as cleaning "gloves". A bit of soapy water or general/glass cleaner and go to town on dusting blinds/knicknacks with hard to reach bits. Also works well on car rims and interiors.

Just want to put it out there that I've really been enjoying your content lately, and thank you for showing other parts of you and your life. I know that decision is never easy, content creator or not. I appreciate your honesty. FYI the editing in "ruining my sims lives because I'm on my period" was perfect. Vlog whatever you're comfortable sharing, even "mundane" things can show others that they may not be the only one who thinks that or does that.
Been absolutely loving these vlogs. Bowser is just the best boy. And this might sound weird, but I love how your outdoors sounds; such different bird song from the States.
You should get a bidet attachment for your toilet! It helps to cut down on TP costs and it's move enviro friendly. But it's also super easy to install and renter friendly.
I thought I was the only one who did that with their socks. I always lose the pair and just go buy the same ones to complete the pair and end up losing it again

I donated all my socks to a shelter and bought all new and mAtching socks (bombas to be exact) ... it made laundry life SO much easier! No regrets!!

There's always missing pairs of socks in our home, and when you get identical socks for kids..... I can't tell who the socks came from anymore, lol. We went & got new shoes yesterday and mine are tye dye 🥰 Some good non-Walmart shoes.

What you can do to match the right socks is to sew a little figure or letter or colour in them and then you can look at the sewings to know which socks belong together. I know the pain. Can you make a vlog of your setup, your pc and monitor in particular, which specs they have like processor and graphics card? I am building my own first gaming setup and would love some examples of your setups.
The sock problem never leaves us. It's a human quandary. There's a land where divorced socks hide out - never found it yet. ;-D
You should get a spoon just for the salt container instead of putting in your hands! In tropical places especially in the country side salt is kept in coconut shell so it's easily accessible when cooking or can use the shell as a lid to cover the container! That's just an eco friendly option.

The one thing I can’t do is wear new clothes/socks without them being washed first. There is just something about it.
i can't either. its the chemicals used in the process. if i don't wash in my non scented soap, i get hives

As a person who works in retail it's the best advice i can give. Always wash your new clothes before putting them in your closet, even if they are things people don't try like underwear or socks.

Love your new housewares! Definitely thought you were about to show us a new Bidet when you brought out the toilet roll tower. I'm also Lactose intolerant, with IBS and we only have super cheap manual ones, but they're awesome. I dream of one day getting a fully automated, heated, drying rig up from Japan that talks lol.

in england we call the ‘salt cellars’ salt pigs! (or at least we do where i live hahah” and they usually sit on the counter where you cook and come with a mini ladle for easy sprinkling. you’re also supposed to put rock salt/sea salt in not just table salt :)
