I knew you were going to snap the bolt in the block using that huge torque wrench.

      It’s the only one I have 🤷‍♂️

Correct. Torque wrenchs are inaccurate in the bottom 10% of their range. You need a 1/4" torque wrench for this job.

I like the subtle timing pun at the beginning. You’re so smart. Great vid. Your torque wrench is the perfect size Daddy, don’t listen to the other bum.

Great video. Looking forward when you install the engine (I may have a few questions) I have started acquiring parts for this swap. Thank you.

Must be nice not having to deal with variable cam timing, i've got to buy a tool to put my timing system back together. Not sure how far to go with my engine rebuild- found a couple vertical scratches in the cylinders that i can feel, otherwise the crosshatching is still visible. One rod bearing had super tapered wear, which isn't great. Probably went too long without an oil change, and probably is what caused my exhaust cam to get scored. At least the head gasket was fine, so it shouldn't be warped.

That's how it always goes. The project creep is real, dig deeper and keep finding things wrong. I can't imagine a new or used stock cam and some new bearings would run you too much? As far as the scratches you can feel, that's a tough one. Maybe just beat on it this season knowing it's on it's way out?

@@IGDesigns They're not too pricey, I might as well get a junkyard head for cheap and hope the cams are OK. Besides that, I think it's still in good shape, so long as the measurements come out good. Might be able to get by with some polishing of the journals, and new rings/bearings.

What kind of header did you use in your mr2 2zz swap?

where did you buy the aftermarket timing chain guides?

So the one around the crank gear, there’s a couple vendors like drag cartel and other cheaper knockoffs. The top one, just search the part number on the screen, it’s an oem part from a different motor.
