- This was my first Caribbean carnival in 2022. Was just happy to go home to Nassau, Bahamas for Bahamas Carnival 2022 and go on the road with Bahamas Masqueraders. Thank you to Bahamas Masqueraders for inviting/hosting me to participate and thanks to Anthony "Tones" Knowles for this beautiful costume. I been looking forward to this, thanks for sharing! All the costumes looked amazing, the quality shows. I hope the other bands are taking notice. Seeing as how little time this was executed in and done flawlessly, Bahamas Carnival just moved up on my must go list.

OMG!!! WISH I WAS THERE!! My Grandfather was from Bahamas. My mother still has two sisters that live there. Can't wait to connect with my people. I was hyped about Trinidad Carnival but nope SUPER HYPED ABOUT THIS ONE!!! CAN'T WAIT UNTIL NEXT YEAR🥰🥰

The parade is usually the Saturday before Mother's Day but they havent officially announced the dates for next year as yet. When they do, I'll most likely do a video on it.

The dates for Bahamas Carnival are May 18-23, 2023
Is this the same as Junkanoo Carnival? Or is this something else?
This isn’t the same as Junkanoo, Junkanoo is a larger scale tradition and competition which has a lot of different components such as live music, brass instruments, drums; choreography or free dancing and different tiers of costuming from “float style” structures, off the shoulder pieces and they follow the themes a lot more concretely ..it’s usually held in the early morning hours of Boxing Day and New Years Day with outlying celebrations/fanfare held on holidays throughout the year.

@@glampie9 no Bahamas carnival is modeled by the Trinidad carnival parade, Junkanoo is not carnival. At one point Bahamas Carnival was called Junkanoo Carnival but it was changed so not to confuse others but you will see elements of Bahamian culture in it such as Junkanoo and rake n scrape music. I hope that helps.
