Lets have a bit of respect here folks. This is the Fall. The best goddam rock n roll band in the world for at least the last 30 years. MES is pushing 60 now and still cutting the edge. Granted a bit hit and miss live, but their studio lps are peerless.
These are not session musicians. This band is The Fall. That is Peter Greenway on guitar, Dave "The Eagle" Spurr on Bass and Kieron Melling on Drums. This band are still the band. And i think they have been the longest version of The Fall
@SilverOrchards Just in case you were wondering, the band on next were Clap Your Hands Say Yeah, so yeah you're probably right. The Fall are incredible, would love to see them live.
I saw The Fall in Manchester in June of 2006 & the gig was a lot better than these dried up versions of the bands (MES's) current live tracks (New Album tracks) the gig in Manchester's New Century Hall was supposed to be the anniversary of the bands first gig but it seems to be an anniversary of when members of The embryonic Fall went to see the Sex Pistols 30 years earlier at Manchester's Free Trade Hall (as did members of Joy Division, Mick Hucknall?? & few other local minor celeb's Tony Wilson (R.I.P.) for example). I'm starting to ramble I was just going to say when your not present at the gig there's no atmosphere, to be honest at some Fall gig's I've attended there's been no atmosphere. So you pays your money and takes your chance.

" I was sort of happ-ee" - classic
@Guedingen He hasn't sacked any of this band yet. This band is still The Fall almost 8 years later. And a very fine band they are too!

Have you ever seen him in the same place as Alex "Hurricane" Higgins? Nah, thought not...

Crowd still looks nonplussed... surely people in Leeds & area know about The Fall??
"what about us... soup bag"?
If peope had any aesthetic discernment the Fall would be on the main stage.
not his bird mate...she's his wife!!!!
I sometimes think 'who the fuck are these people playing instruments behind Mark Smith?'
i mean, it's a good look, for sure, but.......
Dont you think that singer would be better off in a day centre making boxes or something?

bloody hell, mes has put a lot of weight on since then. it'll be the liquid diet
Is he dressed like Rik Mayall circa Bottom for a reason?
It isn't that bad, I've heard worse Fall than this...
I actually wish I was there.
Reading and Leeds festival is not for the music of our generation anymore anyway. It's all hipsters stuff..not hip priest, mind 😉
