I go to Adventureland almost every couple of years because my dad likes to take us I don't know if he's going to be doing that now that we're all grown up but I hope so I hate driving near there though because of how much traffic😂
Fun facts: Adventureland was designed to feel like Disney World. Monster was the first Gerstlauer Infinity coaster in the western hemisphere. Dragon Slayer is, by far, the best S&S free spin to have ever been built. And I may or may not have contributed to some of that Underground graffiti.
As someone who's from Iowa but not living there, it makes me happy to see recent footage from the park I grew up going to! Edit: Outlaw was my first ride ever
Mike's stare into the camera after the operator on Dragon Slayer started "dancing"... Priceless. I don't recognize a few of those, and I think I rode one that isn't there anymore. I suppose lots has happened since I was there last maybe 8 years ago, I think the whole "fake Disneyland" entry area burned down since then, etc.
The Dragon with the two loops was removed due to its age. That’s What the two loops are they have absolutely no reason to be there. The Dragon Slayer replaced it.
We are literally the people behind you guys when you get off Monster and I think we even rode together for McLovin’s 500th. We we’re going to say hi but didn’t want to awkwardly interrupt your video. Pretty cool to see you guys in Iowa though.
Molly Trolley.... that's what we used to call the designated driver's car that brought everyone home from a dance party! 🤣 And Mike's face at the ride op's dancing.... absolute gold 🏆
The Outlaw and the Underground are my 2 favorite roller coasters at Adventure Land, (Yes I live in Iowa, pretty local to Adventure Land really.) I love the theme of the Underground being that you go down into a mine shaft and you see accidents all over the place. Plus the writing on the walls in the waiting line, does add some hilarity, especially when you're waiting. The Outlaw on the other hand fits the Western theme of the area and it's a fun ride.
I have an intense love for Adventureland ever since I was a little kid. I especially have a deep love for The Underground. It is the only coaster in the park that I could make myself get on without trembling from fear so bad that my legs turned to jelly. I am so happy to hear that you guys loved the ride! As a secondary note, I have also always wanted to join a group of coaster enthusiasts and also design coasters for a living, but I feel I never would get the opportunity to. It's an end-goal for me, but it's going to take me a long time to get there. And I also love rollercoasters with an undying passion, but I am too afraid to ride them. To date, the only coasters I've been on are The Underground, and the Timber Twister up north in Minnesota. LOVED IT SO MUCH!!! (Despite nearly vomiting when I got to the lift hill, lol)
I've come to realize after seeing Tumbili and Dragon Slayer that free spins aren't actually that ugly, six flags just really soiled how they look with the ugly color schemes.
Mike is hilarious! Mclovin is awesome. Love every coaster idiots episode. So much effort out it and we notice man! Keep it up! Ps. UNCLE NAAAAAAAAATEEEEEE WAHHHHHZZUUUPPPPPPP
Awww the double loop white roller coaster used to be the best, I didn’t know they got rid of it. I think it was called The Dragon and had medieval themeing
0:48 SLIPKNOT!!!! Thank you Ryan that put a big smile on my face! I’ll be seeing them at Rockville in Daytona Beach along with my 2nd favorite band ever, GOJIRA!! Love you Ryan!
I wish I could have met you at A-land, but I was driving the Train. I did get to meet Mike when they arrived though! Love the content, really cool to see people making trips to Adventureland now!
4:38 That was Great American Scream Machine at SFOG. Jackhammering like a mofo on valleys. I had to brace my legs like I have never had to before on a coaster. Enjoyed it once I did that though. Didn't vibrate my brain like it usually does. Video was entertaining as ever. Always enjoy a Coaster Idiots video
I'm so confused about the trim brake lesson on Monster. Why do the trim brakes go down no the lift hill...? What is the point of them going down if the trains aren't even passing through that area at that time? Sorry if that's a dumb question... new to rollercoaster terms/specs
OG Dragon had one of the roughest pre-rides I've ever ridden. It was a couple of bunny hills where the tops were so sharp they tried to snap your neck. It's too bad they don't still have Der Flitzer which was a fun alpine coaster and Super Screamer which was a little Galaxy coaster. Tornado wasn't always super janky and it never ran the blue train when I was there. It was always the red train.. It used to be a bit more smooth. I always liked the little jog at the top of the second hill. Always gave me some nice little laterals when I was a kid.
Aaah I’m so excited you went to Adventureland! I went here in 8th grade for physics class. I don’t think I’ve been back since. I remember riding The Tornado, The Outlaw, and The Dragon. Not sure what it’s like now since it’s been…more than a decade.
I'm surprised that you said the word "Adventure Land", it kinda reminds me of the one at long Island! LOL! But anyways, I'm glad you guys had fun riding on Dragon Slayer!
Ahh its good you got in so soon! they are gonna close soon for the winter (yea i know its only sep but they do close soon) but it looks like ya'll enjoyed it which is ofc a good thing :)
i seriously cannot believe i used to be scared of riding tornado. kinda glad i was because im sure that wouldve caused major back problems down the line.
Guys I just want to say this in case nobody has before. You don't have to ride the free spin. It's okay to skip the free spin and miss the credit if you don't want to ride it. It's perfectly normal to want to ride everything in the park and see your credit count increment just a little bit more, but it's also okay to put your own feelings first and simply not ride a clone of the same coaster that you hate at a dozen times at a dozen different parks. This goes for all other low quality clones. Sincerely, Spongebob Johnson
I have worked in Iowa every summer for the past 5 years. I live in Florida. I love this green monster coster. It is my favorite coster and I swear it readjust my back . Love the monster
Great video. Such a totally different park. I used to go back in the early 80's the tornado was about it back then except for some carnival type rides. They used to have this spinning ride that was fun.
I used to marathon Outlaw as a kid but the last time I went it was so horribly rough I had no idea how I was able to do it lol. It could be better now tho because it’s been a while since I last went (like I was still going on Dragon and the inverter which was replaced by the Mauer) or it was just an off day but it made tornado look smooth. Also it’s hilarious what’s become of that animatronic on the Underground. It used to move to explain the story of the coaster or something but obviously it has seen better days 😂
You should do a video on the coaster called The Bolt. Its a self driving coaster, the trains look more like a motorcycle that you can control the speed yourself. It looks very interesting and would like more info on its design. The Bolt is only found on a Cruise Ship, called Carnival Mardi Gras Cruise Ship. All I know about it is that it goes up to 40mph and 187ft above sea level. Just wondering if you could find more info on this coaster.
I wonder how many people subscribe on Problematic Roller Coasters, then see Coaster Idiots and question their lives. I love both lol
i love both too
I think about that everyday tbh 😂

ElToroRyan: the only man to calculate how a trim brake works to improve the ride.
As someone who's from Iowa but not living there, it makes me happy to see recent footage from the park I grew up going to!
Edit: Outlaw was my first ride ever
Same. Glad to see they finally got new coasters. Mad to see tornado is still garbage
Man so many memories spent in line at the outlaw 😂
100% the same story. Happy to see the dragon finally got the axe. It’s age was starting to show
Before they made the Dragon, the Outlaw was my favorite!
@@SuperJolla84 WHAT?! The Tornado was the best coaster! Maybe you are thinking of the Outlaw? Was it? That one was a bumpy ride

Mike's stare into the camera after the operator on Dragon Slayer started "dancing"... Priceless.

Are you guys gonna go back to Iowa next year to ride the FIRST EVER Vekoma SLC with an extended helix in America (and Kanonen)?
