    I have also noticed a sudden increase in the number Koreans in Singapore in the last decade, from almost none to hearing snippets Korean conversation on almost daily basis, having Korean neighbours in my hdb block and friends marrying Koreans.

      I see that the sign of South Korea is not doing too good. Who would leave their home if they are having a good life and can secure a job easily? Competition is fierce. Just like China and India.

    i dont think Singaporeans find Korean that popular in Singapore. I mean they r not disliked. Just neutral impression. The reason is Singapore is very global and we have seen many nationalities n foreigners in this country. Plus Singaporeans travelled a lot and widely. We know that they are in this country for work n living. Before Korean, Singapore has a large Japanese expat community but not anymore. They move to Thailand Vietnam and Malaysia.

    I'm Singaporean and have worked in a Korean company in Seoul for 3 years. there's really a stark difference working in Korea compared to sg, all the women had to clean the pantry and serve drinks to guests, there's a huge gender equality difference there and crimes against women isn't taken very seriously. so yeah, I definitely agree a Korean woman would wanna work in sg! also there's so much Korean food and Korean stores in sg, you can get kimchi anytime, no need to pack those in your suitcase when u come! 😏

    This video appeared on my recommended list and I'm glad it did. I agree that everyone who comes to Singapore, be it for work, studies or even for holidays, should learn to respect and understand Singapore's culture. Especially when Singapore is a multicultural and growing multinational country.
    I've also heard foreigners criticising Singapore several times by speaking in their native language in public as they think locals don't understand. With technology's advancement and growing interests in other countries/ languages, we are bound to understand and learn other cultures too~

Although everyone is entitled to his/her opinion, but someone might just understand it perfectly without you knowing and - OUCH*

    • @redfullpack
      @redfullpack 5 років тому +1

      Yes. Some foreigners think locals don't understand by speaking in their native language. This is a mistake because many Singaporeans can learn easily other languages outside the main 3 (English, Chinese, Malay). Even I can understand some Tamil words

    Many times they yelled at me to go their way which was a longer way, when I ignored them .

      To answer why Sporeans making plans for their activities is because they make priorities and they have to spend time with their family, unlike you who may be living in Spore alone. And Sporeans dont drink as much as Koreans.
      Koreans pay a lot attention to their appearance. Its v true..as visiting the plastic surgeon is as common as going to a bar for a drink . We dont subscribe such fake values because we should be happy with whatever looks our parent give us. Too bad if our friends /colleagues dont like our face. Yes Singapore might be a multi-racial & country with freedom but please respect our main cultures & religion we have here basically the local Malays, local chinese, local indians and eurasians. I noticed foreigners when they become large in numbers they tend to act full of themselves & disrespect the locals. Some even bringing their uncivilised & uncultured behaviours here. Learn the local cultures so you know the Do's & Don'ts. And yes please learn english..dont be like China workers who did not bother to learn english because they expect Singaporeans of other races to speak to them in Mandarin. I personally have no respect for people who thinks that we must adhere to their language when they are the ones who settled in our country. Thank you.

    on the planning part, singaporeans plan becos we all have our own personal commitments i.e: family, children, spouse etc we have to respect other people personal commitments as well. We value family first. We cannot assume they be free and meet out of our own convenience and in their inconvenience. I think koreans are impromptu becos they dont really regard other people personal commitments. Or respect their personal commitments. Thats why when you watch Hello Counsellor, theres alot of issues esp amongst married and families, when their spouse go to drink after work 3-7 days a week after work, as if they dont have family to serve. Thats why bosses expect subordinates to go home only after they go home despite wasting time at office. They have no regard to other people personal life. They just meet at their convenience, even at the other party inconvenience or causing inconvenience to the wife and children. Also may in Seoul, alot lived alone, so they call each other out out of boredom. They dont have to care abt families or mother or father. Lifestyle in Singapore is different. If they live alone like those people in Seoul they prolly wouldnt have need to plan what timing are convenience. Koreans should stop the drinking culture its very bad. Other countries have drinking culture also, but i dont think they are as bad. With koreans, drinking is like out of control.

    Welcome to Singapore guys. Singapore's first language is English. But don't many speak Singlish which is not fluent English. This is a multiracial country. Pls don't stare at others cos it's an invitation to a fight; it's a shame. Humans but behave like animals. Just be weary cos we do have gangsters, of different triads. Wish y'all have a gd life in Singapore. God bless.

    Take public transport or Grab.

    if you are referring to Seoul not being safe for women, i guess it may be some areas like Itaewon . Also I have seen lots of your women protesting "Me Too" at Seoul, so it is a matter of one lone woman versus a group of angry Korean women shouting at men

    So many Rubbish bins? You will have hard time finding 1 in the Mrt vicinity. So 'many' should be hair saloon or barber shop. They charge from $100 plus to $4.
