Uh ... that not the original bonnet, is it?
Neptune. It's Neptune, the roman god of the seas, who is pretty identical to Poseidon, but ... well, they're the same ... but Neptune is the roman, and as Italy is kind of the successor of Rome, ...
Anyway, nice one. A true masterpiece in hightech history, and in that regard, a lot more interesting and fascinatig than the "just make the engine larger than usual, huh huh" approach that totally neglects and ignores progress and occupies R & D with boring englargements of known parts and features. Especially the 18 valve Maserati engine, although not every feature as itself is the best decision, they match each other pretty well, starting at the valvetrain, shape of combustion chamber, flow areas, ... one of the first, if not the first at all, gas engines to be developed to only be turbocharged. Any NA-versions? Never even planned or considered! I love how everything adds up in this engine ... you get about the flow area the most wide-angled twovalves of similar bore could, but with a less knock-sensitive spark position and combustion chamber ... while a twovalve with similar flow area would need two camshafts and two spark plugs, this only needs one of each per row ... very compact cylinder head, best spark plug placement imaginable in a wedge-shaped combustion chamber, ... all adds up, all works together, clicks in.
... and then, they don't add intercoolers or a decent fuel injection for the first few years, which is blatantly ignorant of how useful and cheap they were becoming, or are anyway (a heat exchanger isn't a particularly expensive thing to begin with ... lack thereof, in a turbocharged gasoline engine, will lead to less power AND efficiency, ...), just when cheap cars were transitioned into fuel injections replacing the old carburators, ... anyway, still love the Biturbo and subsequent models with numeral code names (like the 222 - my favourite among them is this, as it's the most advanced of the threevalve engines, still bears the uniqueness, but isn't much behind the fourvalve versions in regard to power, reliability, ...). Anyway, congrats on this one ... still have it? Up and running?

It's the original hood.i have since removed the Lund scoops and it looks much better. I need to replace a rear shock, otherwise it runs really well

Have you changed the timing belt? I assume you are making a joke about the "Poseidon" since knowledgeable enthusiasts refer to the emblem as a "Trident"
I just bought a Maserati Zagato Spyder in non-running condition. I have never actually heard one of these run so this one sounds pretty nice.
