Please don't actually do this. Real ways to reduce latency include: Buying a high performance interface such as RME and UAD. Recording at higher sample rates like 96 kHz or 192 kHz. Use LatencyMon to see if any background programs or drivers are causing latency issues. resplendence.com/latencymon
My UM2 which I've been using 'cuz we're in a temporary location due to a fire in our building - it for some reason has gotten too tight to attach & disconnect an XLR cable without applying some elbow grease and yanking on it good. I think that's a fair sing that anything else might turn out to be a disaster waiting to happen.
