I can dance to DJ Sneak tracks all night long. He outrageous!! He outdone himself again So sad, I missed this set in Chitown..... hoping to catch in town the next time.
Even when it sexy you can make it sound gangster (I want to snuggle up to you) that’s just ridiculous love it send it straight to the girlfriend or whoever you like Sick track
If your referring to the Mixmag article from last year then yes. I agree with the spirit of what he is saying but yes Sneak can be outspoken and not craft everything well. I think in any art, it is important to know and understand its history. I don't think he was saying don't ever play digital which is how I construed your comment. His point of knowing vinyl and actually mixing with it gives you a since of where the music came from. I don't agree with his point about "if you never touched a piece of vinyl and actually mixed that and created something with that, you're not a DJ in my eyes. I look down on people like that". Maybe turntables are not an option for some. He is closed minded in that way. He is old school and has an image of a "house gangster" to uphold I guess. I think the theme is more of knowing the history of your craft and working for it, not embracing new technology.
That was one of the most educated and concise rebuttals I have ever read on social media. I apologize if I have offended you and hope you keep enjoying house music, it is after a spiritual thing, a body thing, a soul thing. Much respect Christopher Michael Reilly.
Christopher Not offended at all. I think people are afraid to have intelligent conversation anymore. You learn more from not agreeing with someone on something than you do with just being a blind sheep as long as you have an open mind to learn something. Your original comment definitely had merit. Sneak is abrasive and sometimes says things with truths but he is human and what comes out is foul able. Anyone who plays house music are joined by one truth, the love and the feeling they get from it and also the feeling that others get by hearing it. Technology will change but the spirit will not for those that understand it. I respect Sneak for his spirit of knowing the past but I think he needs to embrace and understand that one day vinyl may not exist. That doesn't make you less of a DJ. His point is that there are a lot of D-bag dj's out there just trying to get famous and make a dollar without embracing the music and being humble. Are you DJ, if so send me some linksPeace and love. Pretty sad that a man who is fanatical about vinyl is playing with CD'si
Do you expect him to carry around turntables to all his gigs? Come on. He is an international DJ traveling probably over 300 days a year.
Did you even see his rant about DJ's playing CD's instead of vinyl? Great as he is, there is no going back once you become a hypocrite
