- Join me as I show you my Top 5 non-hiking spots across the West side of Mount Desert Island and Acadia National Park. Known as the "Quiet Side," of Mount Desert Island, the West side is a beautiful area that includes parts of what is considered Acadia National Park as well as many places that are not. From Nature Preserves to Seaside picnic areas to the famed Bass Harbor Lighthouse!

we have been going down to Acadia for 25 years from Quebec Canada, and we love the Quietside so much! It is calm, and thats how we like it! I personally love the Seawall, and we often go and take our morning coffee there, listen to the waves crash againts the rocks, and watch the seabirds! we also often spot some harbor seals popping their heads in and out of the water. And the mornings are so beautiful, especially when it is a litthe foggy, and you get to see the fog lift gently as the sun comes out
It's my favorite side of MDI. My personal favorite spot is Seal Cove personally. The calm cove at sunset is amazing

Acadia and MDI is in Maine. About 3 hours North of Portland.
