What a brilliant kit beautifully put together. Love the applicant of the name of the brewery on the chimney. The ageing of the lettering is spot on. Cheers Greg
Hi julian - that is a fantastic outcome the whole brewery theme looks so realistic and the name is so appropriate as allsops is a name steeped in history throughout the uk -its a great job -i love it 😎😎😎
The painted signage looks great Julian. I just wonder if you have considered an arched wrought iron version over the entrance way? When I was a kid (1960s) we had a small brewery branch(?) at the bottom of our road (near the World's End). It was, I think, a distribution point where the beer could be sent out from, rather than a full brewery? But I clearly remember just such a sign over the gateway, where the wagons would go in and out. Apparently someone worked out is was cost effective to deliver the beer in horse drawn wagons (drays?) rather than vans, and it was great advertising. I even had a book where the Lord Mayor ended up getting his parade in the brewers wagon rather than his official coach, though I don't just now remember why! Either way your brewery should look good back on the layout.
Thank your for your kind feedback and fascinating childhood account of a local brewery/distribution warehouse. I like the idea of a wrought iron archway or gates so thank you for the suggestion, watch this space in the future🙂
The signs look very nice, you could also add a little paint run on the chimney lettering where the rain would wash some of the paint down over time. But looks good as it is. All the best Anthony.
Hi Anthony, thank you for your kinds words and suggestions. It is in the plan to do a bit of final weathering before I place the brewery back on the SR layout, mostly to dull down the white letters a little.
Food for thought when placing names on brick work, enjoyed the video perhaps some soot trace around the top. lettering came out well, look forward to next one...
Thank you for your kind feedback. I had since completed some additional weathering which included more soot/grime to the chimney. I'll capture this in an upcoming video.
Thank you Frank, fortunately the self adhesive vinyl method did work as it was a bit of a gamble. The key is to use low-tac vinyl so as to avoid ripping off the brickwork.
Thanks Gordon for your feedback, a great suggestion and along with some other suggestions that have been made, I'll planning a few additional embellishments to the brewery.
Hi Nicholas, thanks for your kind words. When you do find a suitable building, the key to the stencil is to ask for low-tac or removable vinyl, this will avoid any chance of the stencil ripping off brickwork on card structures.
Just got to know your channel love what you do . Learn alot and although I don't have a railway I scratch build building and dioromas . I mix and match art, craft ,rail and recycled materials .
My builds are from cardboard boxes mainly and I collect all sorts of bits and pieces and combine it with craft and supplies , also use railway stuff . Find me on Facebook Stephen dowling and I will show you my white house and downing street dioramas and I will share how I make them . I'm currently building now
Thank you for your kind feedback. The key to the stencil is to make sure it's a low-tac vinyl. In the signwriting industry it's sometimes called 'removable vinyl'.

Thanks Greg for your kind feedback, I think it looks the part now.
A great build vid
Was building a metcalf brewery as a whisky distillery called littlemill thank you it helps me to get back to my modelling
A great conclusion to the brewery and the competition Julian, and once again congratulations to Mike on winning the competition.
Thanks Steve, I'm very pleased with the final outcome, just a little bit of weathering to the chimney and then back on to the layout it will go.

Thank you Mike for your kind words. Once a bit of final weathering is done, it should look even more convincing/authentic on the SR layout.
Thank you for the video it helps me with my recovery from my brain tumour and stroke as I try to get back to my modelling 😂

That's a good method for getting a realistic look, great result.

Nice one, the letter turned out very well and certainly looks the part.
Thanks John for your kind words, always appreciated.
Looking sharp and will kook smart on the layout. Take care Kevin
Thanks Kevin for your kind feedback, always greatly received.
Looks really good Julian. Now how about a tall inspection ladder for the steeple jack?
Thanks Gordon for your feedback, a great suggestion and along with some other suggestions that have been made, I'll planning a few additional embellishments to the brewery.
nice work looks very effective might give that a go myself if i can find a sutable building on my layout.

Very well done!

Thank you for your kind words, and it sounds very interesting what you do. It seems we both like to recycle materials where we can.

Can't send pics here and I will be doing a step by step guide and materials I'm using along the way on my page and with FB groups
love your work in this one. i will use this method for my signage I believe. thank you!
