Your dress looks fab, despite all your trials and tribulations!
Back in the olden days (the previous century LOL) my mom taught me to pin the pattern pieces together and try them on. This doesn't necessarily work for really fitted garments, but would have worked for the skirt and the sleeve/cuff of your dress. Also you can just measure the pattern pieces with a tape measure, compare them to a pattern you know, or quickly machine baste the garment together to check fit (long stitch, loose tension) -- or all of the above. Back then fabric was too precious to do toiles all the time.
Fun video as always! ❤
Kate I feel you with the remodeling, I've been there, ugh!! But making something is a nice distraction, beautiful 👗 ❤
I love your green dress. I would never have thought to choose that fabric but I love it😍. I had not realised I chose the same dress patterns in my latest video! Great taste😄. It was great to see your review on this dress. I may still make it for Frocktails. Have a great week ❤❤
Beautiful fabric Kate, your dress is going to be stunning, can’t wait to see your finished garment
Looking forward to seeing this beautiful dress finished - I have this pattern and the cleavage scares me!
Yes me too way too low cut
Thanks for an enjoyable video can't wait to see the changes have a great week 😊😊
I loved watching this vlog 🫶🏻 beautiful fabric choice, you’ll have a stunning dress when you get those alterations done.👍😍
Hi Kate. The dress turned out great. You are brave to wear that dramatic neckline! I was breathing a sigh of relief when you said you would take your time in the future to make the final tweaks to the dress and finish it up. Fitting is stressful enough without a big time crunch. My favorite from this Busy Bee challenge has to be the red, white, and blue recombined T-shirt; it's so creative, Antonia
The dress is looking great! I think it was a smart idea to put it aside until you have time to carefully make those modifications. Hope the reno finishes up without any glitches.
Dress will be lovely to wear while sipping bubbles - and so good it's not an atomic dress (no fallout 😂😂😂)
🤣🤣🤣…. Yes, managed the entire video without going atomic… just! Had my ‘censored’ sticker at the ready in just in case though 😜
What a fun challenge! Your dress looks great already, I'm sure it will be amazing once you're finished. 😀
That green fabric certainly didn’t disappoint. Bit of a tweak and you’ll be needing to book that flight to swish around in your fab frock.
The dress is lovely & is going to be great once you have adjusted it 😊
OMG! You are so funny! Thank you for making me laugh first thing this Sunday morning! You were new to me this morning, so I’d like to thank the algorithm for that. That dress and color are beautiful on you! Happy sewing and I’ve subscribed.
Yay! Thank you - so happy you have found my channel and hope you get some laughs along the way…. I can never be too serious when it comes to sewing 😜
Such a beautiful dress & im so ready once you’ve made those adjustments, it will serve you well for many Mediterranean holidays to come 😻
Me too!! Excited for a sunny holiday now 😁
Love that dress!!! A few tweaks and I bet you’ll love it. I would take off the cuff and add a new, long, fitted, button up cuff. A little fiddly and impractical but gorgeous. I have the same fabric and pattern so that’s what I might do.
Thanks! And agree… it doesn’t need much to make it perfect ☺️
I like the Vogue dress. I think it looks so glamourous.
Thank you ☺️
